Melih Cevdet Anday'ın yaklaşık 60 yıl boyunca gerçekleştirdiği söyleşileri bir araya getiren Dakika Atlamadan, usta şairin yazı hayatının bir özeti olarak değerlendirilebilir. Anday'ın söyleşilerde ve soruşturmalarda verdiği cevaplara topluca bakıldığında, onun hiç değişmeyen meselelerini de, zaman içinde değişim geçiren fikirlerini de görmek mümkün.

Şair üzerine yapılacak çalışmalarda öncelikli kaynaklardan biri olarak da okunabilecek olan söyleşi ve soruşturmalar, 1930'ların sonundan 1990'ların sonuna, Türk edebiyatının 60 yıl içindeki temel meselelerini görmeye imkân sağlıyor, bu dönem boyunca edebiyatın hangi sorular etrafında şekillendiğini görmeye olanak veriyor.
