Phoebe Sullivan has spent her life racing forward so fast that she forgot to enjoy the journey. When a family emergency forces Phoebe to return to her family home on Clover Lake, she has to make a choice, live the life she’s spent years creating for herself or confront her past to pick up the pieces of herself she’s left behind. Phoebe finds direction in an unlikely place. Jarred Holton has everything he’s planned on having, almost. Jarred suddenly finds himself in the middle of a family dispute that brings him face to face with the one thing he can never have. Vowing to right the wrongs of his past Jarred comes up with a plan. If it works, it could change everything.
Awesome read. I feel in love with the historical Clover Lake Grooms books. While one doesn't need to read them to enjoy this book, for those that have, this story shows the outcome generations down the line. Sara Jolene is a great writer, bring together the lingering agent of adolescence and first love, with history in a believable non-cliche telling. A pleasure to read.
Jarred Holton and Phoebe Sullivan/"owner" of Clover Lake I enjoyed this sweet story that links today to the historical series. It’s well written and characters are well developed. Looking forward to reading more of this series. The HEA was good, Since they did not marry in the book hard to call him a groom.
