Europe isn’t safe when the girls from Kansas City bring all their weight and sass across the pond to London and Paris. When the plane lands at Heathrow Airport, with the help of Sissy’s handsome brother, the women receive a history lesson on life in the U.K.—the land of kings, queens, and the London Bridge with all the king’s men. But it’s not until Nicki, Sissy, and Angela make their way to Paris, France that tempers flare, weight issues come to light, and the land of ooh-la-la taps someone’s heart. When a deep and painful secret is revealed, the test of true friendship is on the line. Will the Fat Girls Club heal and move past the hurt, or is it doomed to go down in a forkful of cheesecake?

The last place I remember seeing people that were supposed to be my parents was in Kansas. A tornado swept me up and gave me a bird's eye view of what the world was like and thus triggered my love to travel and write stories about what I saw. Because of my dislike for math, my desire to write stories grew until the pencil and paper became constant companions in my life.
My first published work was a poem in a community newspaper. From that moment I knew I loved the creative process of storytelling. I continued to write for local newspapers around the country and submitting my work to magazines like Walking and Healthcare Traveler. My 'Letters to the Editor' appeared in Writer's Digest and O, The Oprah Magazine to name a few.
I enjoy a good love story so in December of 2013 I released my first romance novel, YOU NEED LOVE LIKE I DO. Currently my second book, THE FAT GIRLS CLUB, the first in a new series, was released in the spring of 2015.

Oh my. Is that my book I see listed? Well of course it is and I love it!
Why a follow-up to the first book, The Fat Girls Club? Because I purposely left a few unanswered questions to lead into this book.
Second, I wanted you, the reader, to have fun and join the girls on their crazy adventure as they tour London and Paris together.
Paris Bound is not only a tour book with sights and sounds but a wake-up call for the characters. There's more mayhem, a love interest that develops and a secret that comes to light. This book was a joy to write as I did most of it overseas, in the wee hours of the morning after roaming around the previous day.
I learned a lot not only of myself but of my characters. We have more growing pains to get through and more laughter to mesh with the learning.
As I write the next book in the series, The Fat Girls Club Queen of Hearts, I will post questions on my website that is being updated. I will cover different subject matters, for example; relationships between men and women, ownership of health issues and what is the one thing that is dear to your heart that you would fight for each and every time.
I hope you enjoy the antics of Sissy, Angela and Nicki as much as I enjoyed writing them.
Thank you.

Sissy, Nickie, and Angela push away fat, fears and foolishness as they embark on new territory. The Fat Girls Club: Paris Bound is about three women whom have an unbreakable friendship. Lila, you were able to beautifully weave together a story that was extremely relatable, comical, and delicious. I too work to release both weight and wait. The trip to Paris was invigorating. Reading about the history and the many places and structures made me feel like a tourist. The blend of narrative and education was magical. Thank you Lila and I look forward to reading your next novel, Queen of Hearts. Warmly, Secret

Just finished reading "Paris Bound" last night and I really liked the way the author put all the adventures of her protagonists together. I always cherish a story that teaches me something important and friendship, love and emotional bonds between people are certainly valuable topics to write about. Paris is one of my favorite cities in the world and that made the whole plot more interesting for me. Great read!

Friendship, travel, romance, tension, good food, shopping! Friends face challenges as they make choices that affect their every day life. The characters are full of personality and just as in real life you tend to relate to one more and/or have favorites. I really like reading about their interactions and I am always eager to know "what's next"?
