From childhood, as a fan of Nancy Drew, Dana Girls, Perry Mason, and the Hardy Boys, it was inevitable that Christa Nardi would continue her love of books and particularly mysteries. With a career in technical/nonfiction writing (under real name), it is not surprising that her love of mystery transformed into not only reading but writing mysteries. Christa combines her love for reading and writing on her blog.
Having read the first book in this series I was eager to try another one. Unfortunately I didn’t really enjoy this one. It deals with cyber-bullying which I know is a real thing, but it described/told some of the things posted online which were not appropriate and made me see them. This secret “gang” also thought it was “fun" to set off smoke bombs in schools, and federal buildings. No one seemed to worry about the safety of others and one person died. I was glad it was dealt with at the end, but after I reached the end I wasn’t interested in reading any more.
A few other things I didn’t care for were the teasing about some guy being a boyfriend, and what would this other guy think. Not my kind of story. It also felt like the writing wasn't as strong and the characters felt flat. I really didn't care about them. The only reason I kept reading was because I wanted the bullies to get caught.
This was not a Christian book. There was no prayer, no going to church, no reading of the Bible.
Like the other books in the Hannah and Tamar Mystery Series, this book is enjoyable. It is about the sisters and how they solve a new mystery - this time cyberbullying, which is highly relevant for teens today, and even adults. I think this is my favorite book so far, and I am looking forward to the next in the series. .
This is the fourth in the series and the first I have read or listened to. This is a good young adult book. It deals with bullying, social media, and learning to deal with others. It also dealt with the lack of thinking trough your actions, which caused a death during one of the smoke bomb attacks.
Overall, this story fell flat as I am not the intended audience. It’s been a long time since I was a young adult and social bullying isn’t an issue for me. I felt the writing was not as strong in as in the other series that the author writes.
This was a good attempt at addressing the issues that young people face today. I can only be thankful social media was not an option in my youth.

A Hannah & Tamar Mystery The Mysterious Package 1 Mrs. Tedesco's Missing Cookbook The Misplaced Dog (Hannah & Tamar Mystery Series Book 3) Malicious Mischief (A Hannah and Tamar Mystery Book 4)
I really enjoyed this fourth book in the "Hannah and Tamar Myster" series. Hannah and Tamar are drawn into a mystery which involved social media and secret societies. The subject matter was very contemporary. The storyline was clear and easy to follow. I liked the sisters, their personalities, and their values as written in this tale. Julie McCarthy's narration was fine, and she set the correct ambiance with her performance. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily posted this review.
