After being swept up in a hurricane romance after a chance meeting one night, it’s clear that Adam will become much more than just a casual acquaintance. But the more intertwined he becomes in Diana’s life, the more she begins to question his true intentions.
Haley also has a feeling about Adam.
Haley lives a quiet life with her seemingly perfect husband and their two daughters in the bucolic hills of the bluegrass. Behind this façade, however, she struggles with her own identity and her husband’s past transgressions. All the while a lingering question nags her…
Was it an accident?
Everyone has a secret, and in A Life Well Hidden, secrets are a matter of life and death, and little do Haley and Diana know they’re both playing a dangerous game with the same man. But who’s really holding all the cards?
I highly enjoyed this book. A look into lives of all those involved in an affair and their own thoughts and feelings. I love a good book with a plot twist and whoa… I did NOT see this one coming at all. And in my opinion, I praise Emily for how she wrote this story out. You never know how you’ll react in a situation. You never know what you’ll do and won’t do.
A Life Well Hidden is an excellent debut novel and I'm glad I took the time to read it!
It's descriptive where it needs to be; you can experience what's going on and picture the surroundings without getting lost in unnecessary filler. It pulled me right into the fold and I felt as though I was part of their story. The author made me like all of the characters and when it was time, she also made me hate some as well. All of these things, as well as the ability to invoke any and all of those feelings in me as a reader, are why I feel it deserves 5 stars.
It's an easy read with a solid plot that is intriguing and held my attention firmly to the pages with what seemed like no effort at all. The writing flows so well that I sat down thinking I would just get started and the next thing I knew I was almost halfway through!
The plot itself was very well laid out and you can tell that the author put a lot of effort into developing the story and the characters. Without giving spoilers it's a little hard to explain but there were times when I didn't want to like this book as much as I did but, I couldn't help it! I was involved in the story and when life got in the way and I had to put it down, I was anxious to get back to it. I had to see where this was going! You know that hypothetical train wreck that's about to happen? Yes, I was anticipating it, was anxious to get there because I just "knew" what was about to happen but, I was still surprised because I did not see all of that coming!
A Life Well Hidden is a very appropriate title and I definitely recommend it!
Haley and Diana are two women who meet by chance at a wedding and never expected their lives to become entertwined. Except, one secret connects them both - the mysterious and enigmatic Adam Hunt.
I simply devoured this book over two days. I was kept on the edge of my seat the entire time. Nothing was as I expected, and at this point, I should come to know this will happen when I read one of Emily's books. Haley and Diana were caught in Adam's intense web. There were so many lies and secrets between all the characters. The vibes were off putting but I couldn't stop trying to figure out every angle. Be prepared for twists and turns - this isn't a traditional romance.
I recommend this if you enjoy romantic suspense, with obsessive men and the women who they draw into their orbits, along with many twists and turns to keep you guessing.
This book will hook you from the start and not let up until the very last sentence. Not sure what to write as I don't want to give away the storyline. There are several shocking moments that take place. Why does Haley put up with Adam's crap. It is continuous and sometimes a bit brutal. This is a great book. I don't think you will be disappointed reading it. It can be a bit intense at times. I will definitely be reading more by this author.
I couldn't stop reading! I loved the characters, they were written very well. I didn't want the book to end! I wish it was two books together so I could jump right into book two. I'm glad I purchased this book. I'm not going to into details about the characters and what happened in the book, I don't want to ruin it for anyone.
This story tells of a girl hellbent on proving she chose the right man and the hell it took for her to realize what she had given up. The end leaves enough venom for a 2nd book.
