A Black Shamrocks MC Companion Story.

Craving Control can be read as a standalone, although it does contain small spoilers pertaining to the flashback scenes in Seizing Control, Black Shamrocks MC Book One.

He’s the villain in the tale. The man who committed the most heinous of crimes. A monster of the highest order. He reigned supreme, seemingly unstoppable, until his power was stolen from him. Brendan Taylor, the politician’s only son, was tried and convicted for the damage he wrought, then jailed in the prime of his life.

Yet, he still couldn’t walk away from her.

Madelaine O’Brien, daughter of the President of the Black Shamrocks MC, was never on his radar. Their lives were on different trajectories until she captured his attention one fateful day and never let it go. It was as if the clouds parted and he saw the sun in all its glory for the first time in his regimented life. In that instant, she became his—and he would do anything to keep it that way.

His fate was sealed by his own actions.

Or so it seemed. Because little did he know, there was a plan put in place years ago. One that he wasn’t privy to; even though, his participation was paramount. Its success rested on his victory. On the one thing that Madelaine awoke within him. A man with a singular appetite. A hunger that had him CRAVING CONTROL.

OMG Kylie you totally killed it with Craving Control. You tore my heart out, made me want to jump in there and rip Brendan apart. The brutality in this book is not for the feint hearted but it is a totally compelling read which kept me completely immersed from the first word, right through the end and the totally justified acknowledgments. You could feel both the lust (I wouldn't even begin to call it love) and rage coming from Brendan for Lainey. You would expect to feel fear coming Lainey, yet she rises way above any fear she feels and a strong women who is determined to survive comes shining through. I found myself questioning how Brendan could hold a torch so high for Lainey, a women who was so clearly not in love with him and only wanting to protect her family and be with the man she truly loved. I also questioned the motives of both Lainey's and Brendan's fathers, both of who knowingly contributed to allowing the violence to happen and continue. There's lots to hate within the story in terms of the characters, their actions and the betrayal of some, as well as a lot of love and loyalty within the Black Shamrocks MC, but it is so well written you will fall in love with it. Another fantastic book from Kylie.

I didn't really want to read this but I always finish a series hence the 2 star rating. He is a vile human being - waste of skin basically. I don't care that he grew up in a home that was beyond dysfunctional. He is or was a psychopath and quite frankly his ending was too simple. The only thing that was good about it was that it was Maddi who did it. The other reason its only a 2 star is that it was basically a rehash of the first book.

This was such a horrific story! It was hard for me to finish it. I wanted to stop so many times... I read Seizing Control a while ago and reading the story from Brendans pov was disturbing to say the least. I do however believe that it had to be written. Thank you Kylie. Now I have new questions about Beast. If you have triggers, please be careful💜 Onto the next.

This is a very, very different type of story and very powerful indeed, I actually think it would make a good book club book as the discussion would be so interesting.

Brendan Taylor is obsessed with Madelaine O’Brien and it’s an unhealthy one too. As I said, this is a very different story, like the story of Little Red Riding Hood from the Wolf’s perspective! Brendan’s bite is just as powerful too!

Brendan is such a vile character, this author has built up his description so clearly and vividly that it’s extremely easy to see him, unfortunately. Are there reasons behind his psychotic behaviour? Bit by bit little pieces of information are woven into the story to show another side but does it make you like him any more? You need to be the judge of that when you read it.

Maddie is such a strong character and really easy to like too however being so young when she first meets Brendan she really didn’t have much of a chance with his manipulative ways although I admired her spirit tremendously.

I have to admit in amongst the carnage that is Brendan Taylor’s story are some absolute gems of expressions. For example this one when Brendan is describing Mik- ‘Knight-in-Rusted-Tin-Foil’! Too funny! In what is quite a dark story a sprinkle of humour is needed to balance things out. The emotional journey in this book is varied and real, there are trigger warnings at the start so take note in case this could apply to you.

Another quality book by this talented author.

OMG this book had multiple freezer moments and I found myself thinking about how obsession can lead you to do cruel and violent acts to another person who you claim to love.
Brendan was a product of genetics and environment or just a sadistic psychopath who is obsessed with Madeline..I don’t know but it was a difficult book to read as I knew going in their was no hope of redemption for this guy.
The violence and recurrent sexual assault was hard to read from a visual thinker/ readers perspective, but the insight into his psyche was well written by Kylie and reading the totally justified acknowledgment gave insight into that.
I struggled with both Thomas and Beast as characters who saw their kids as chess pieces to be manipulated around the board without any thought to the psychological damage it was doing.
The best part of the book was Lainey’s strength of characteru to overcome ( or come through the trauma ) was amazing and a testament to al woman out their who rise above the past and make new lives for themselves.

Even though Brendan is the villain in the Black Shamrocks MC series, getting to read his side of the story, and getting inside the inner workings of his mind, I couldn’t help but love his character. Although his mind is twisted with all the crazy beliefs he has and what he thought was the right thing, it was good getting the story from his POV.
I’m glad I got stuck right in to Brendan’s book and I’m still happy he got what he deserved in the end, right from Lainey’s hand. Kylie Hillman has done a phenomenal job writing from Brendan’s mind, I absolutely loved his story.

Through the eyes of a bad guy

This book was so unique since it was written for the bad guy in most of the books in this serie. I loved being able to go back and have a different view on things happening and getting more in depth with the characters. This is not sometime that you usually get s chance at reading so it's a treat for sure

This book felt like a repeat of one I had already read earlier in the series, so I stopped reading within the first few chapters.
