Shortly after the Civil War ended a young man named Seth Bernstein rode west and settled just outside of Cheyenne. He built a ranch, the Bar S, one of the finest horse ranches in the area. He married a young girl named Charity, and they had three daughters – Ruby, Faith, and the youngest, Grace.
The Bernstein Series starts off with the story of Charity, her upbringing, how she got to meet Seth, and how he saved her life before they got married. It then follows on with the story of each daughter, and how their unique personalities, from the quiet, reserved Faith to the brilliant Ruby, and tomboy Grace all found their loves. The series ends with the story of the lost stepbrother Robert, the one who Charity forgave, but couldn’t forget.
Each story is a classic tale of love during a golden age in American history.
The characters were believable and likeable. Each story had potential to inspire and entertain, but they were so short that there was insufficient time for character growth and plot development.
Unfortunately, there were major grammatical errors that distracted from the story.
The first three novels were not that good due to lack of time for adequate story and character development plus numerous grammatical errors, typos, formatting issues, etc. The characters were believable but their development was stunted due to the shortness of the novels. The endings just seemed rushed , predictable, and unsatisfying.
The last two were much better but they still were lacking that spark if you will due to the shortness of the novels. The development of the story and characters is there more than the others, but there is still room for improvement.
Box set of mistakes. Spelling and grammar are atrocious.
Now for the rest of the reviews. I enjoyed the ideas of each story. Each one was rushed and tossed together so quick that they came out poorly done. You feel loss in one of the books, but the one sister doesn’t tell her what her husband said as his last words were. I think this could have been a great box set with better plots and maybe an editor. Just my personal opinion.
Do I recommend? Eh if you have absolutely nothing more to read then go for it!
This ended up being multiple short stories very poor grammatically! Some better than others but all ended up the same. The Seth's Daughters was the best just hard to read when sentence structure and and spelling errors were out of control!
The editing is atrocious. The writing is juvenile. I read the first two books and decided that I was not going to waste any more of my time on this set of books.
