I really adored "Chevelle" like so much.
This story had at its centre; one of my most favourite ever Heroines
Chevelle; and got to say I'm totes loving the name; was absolutely kick ass.
A takes no prisoners Alpha female; whose resilience and sheer stubbornness has been forged on the streets she was forced to grow up on.
An orphan from a young edge and foster runaway, Chevelle has fought tooth and nail for all she now holds dear.
A complete petrol head and owner of the Pit Chevelle has only ever relied on herself.
This girl is definitely one tough cookie.
Enter Mercenary bit of a loose cannon; definitely, the Alpha to challenge Chevelles don't touch persona; he's a recent transfer to this towns chapter of the Oath Keepers and after only one encounter with the gorgeous pit owner and Merc is practically salivating to get up close and personal with this sassy mouthy gearhead.
So I loved the banter between these two; the dynamic here was incredible and the chemistry off the hook.
It made me smile every time Chevelle called Mercenary Cupcake, and to be fair he took it all in good fun.
It was actually quite humbling to watch Chevy slowly lower her walls as she began to realise that Merc was the real deal for her; he really was quite the sweetie despite his somewhat vulgar language and Alpha tendencies.
Trying to reign himself in as he attempts to give Chevy space was cute.
Well; Merc was actually quite shit at that if I'm honest, but it was ever so sweet that he still tried to go against his very dominant nature; was never going to quite work out though.
It was amusing then to just see him think; fuck it and just tell her how it's going to be; a very Tarzan moment that; obviously what was ultimately needed from him though as it does work much more in Mercs favour.
A strong woman needs an even stronger man; cheville needed this to really respect Mercs Dominance.
This was told in Dual POV and has no OM or OW drama.
It's part of a series but can easily be read as a standalone; I did and followed along no problem.
"Chevelle" has some fantastic diverse characters and was action packed throughout.
I thought an exceptionally nice touch was the inspirational quotes at the beginning of each chapter.
Woman who say "I want a bad boy" are clueless. What you need is a man who will break someone's face for you but also make you breakfast in bed.
Bikes are like ol' ladies, if it ain't yours don't touch.
Woman are like teabags. You never know how strong they are until they're in hot water.
Loved this little feature and these sayings did bring a smile to my face often.
I also adored the epilogue; I especially liked how far into the future it was set.
Was so adorable to see Chevelle and Mercenary so many years later and discover what had ultimately changed in there lives.
One of my favourite epilogues ever.
So this was a great well written read that I enjoyed immensely and can definitely recommend.

Strong characters + lots of heat….
I love when strong female characters are matched up with (kind of) jerky alpha males because the sparks fly and fly and fly… And did they ever when Mercenary and Chevelle butt (gear)heads and all other body parts in this action-packed, gritty romance….
Chevelle was a woman who had battled for her place in what just happened to be a man’s world. Loving cars – working on them, racing them – made her life worth living and no one was going to take it away from her. Not easily anyway. One favor returned later and Mercenary was in her business, in her face and pushing every button she had. Good thing she pushed back!
The dialogue, the heat – everything about these characters yelled loud and clear that they were not be messed with, not be discounted and definitely to be respected. I LIKED them – their self-confidence, their belief that nothing was beyond their capabilities. Chevelle was beautiful and badass at the same time. She could kick anyone in the keester if need be, including the man who thought he could take over her world, take over her. Mercenary was an arrogant mf that kept pushing and pushing. I shook my head more than once at his inside voice but he soon realized he had better shape up or the best thing to ever happen to him was going to leave him at the curb.
If you’re in the mood for a rollicking passionate romp through the unforgiving landscape of fast cars and bikers, you NEED this book!

This book takes you on a wild ride. Mercenary joins the Texas club due to some problems up north. He caused a bit of trouble in the last book but it's all good now. We learn a little about his past. He used to race cars. This is good because the Iron Fist have been seen hanging around The Pit. That's a place to go and bring your car and place bets and get to race legally. Perfect place for the new member to go in and find out what's going on.
Chevelle is the owner of The Pit and his point of contact. He gets his first surprise when he finds out that Chevelle is a female and his second when she puts him on his back. She is a sassy badass herself and takes not crap especially from a stubborn bossy man. She says she can take care of herself and he said she can't.... these two are going to be hell on wheels.

Chevelle is part of the Oath Keepers MC series, you do not need to read any previous books to follow the story. The book has action, scorching hot chemistry and two very dominate alpha’s.
From the moment Mercenary met Chevelle there was so much alpha going on it felt like I was watching a final in a tennis match not knowing who was going to win until the final hit. Mercenary is sent to help protect The Pit, little did he know that Chevelle was full of sass and put him in his place very quickly. Chevelle didn’t need anyone to protect what she has built, especially not a male with a one-track mind. Will they be able to make it work or will they burn out in the fast lane?
“The man is Alpha to the fullest degree, and it calls to me like a fresh set of staggered tired on a fast car”
Mercenary is broody, full of confidence and is brutally honest. He knows what he wants and doesn’t back down from a challenge. Chevelle is fiercely independent and has learnt about life the hardest way possible. She wears a mask to show the world that she doesn’t need anyone’s help, especially a man’s.
From the first time that Mercenary and Chevelle meet you have no doubt that they have chemistry, their sexual and dominate banter setting them up to explode.
“She lights a fire under my ass so hot it burns inside, and we’ve barely even spoken to one another”
Mercenary doesn’t shy away from telling Chevelle how he feels and where he wants their relationship to go, they are set to boiling from the beginning.
Sapphire’s writing style made going between both characters points of view seamlessly. The back and forth between them kept you on the edge of your seat waiting to see which dominate personality was going to win this round.
I haven’t read any of Sapphire’s previous books in the Oath Keepers series, but after reading Chevelle they are now added to want to read list. Sapphire finishes with a strong epilogue that in my mind sets up strong characters which I hope to read in future books. If you are wanting to read a book with a good story line, witty banter and HEA this is the book for you.

Chevelle is part of the Oath Keepers MC series, you do not need to read any previous books to follow the story. Merc and Chevy are meant for one another; dirty mouths, headstrongness and all. Mercenary meets his match with Chevelle and they lock into a battle of wills. They are both used to be in charge and when these two alpha personalities meet and clash, it sets up an epic battle for who is true head of it all. Mercenary thinks he’s Gods gift to women so when he comes face to face with the feisty Chevelle sparks begin to fly. I enjoyed the battle between these two, the intense chemistry that flared between them and the bantering. Not saying there wasn’t action and blood, this was more of a romance and struggle between two headstrong alphas and the battle was between them for who would get who and who was the ultimate alpha. The humor was fantastic and the chemistry just right. I look forward to the next book in this series by Sapphire Knight.

I have no idea why I waited so long to read this author. Really dumb move on my part. I have binge read this series and I can't get enough of those Oath Keepers. You could read this book as a stand alone and enjoy it just fine, but reading the series adds that much more depth to the characters.
This one has the newer member Mercenary front and center. He fits his name. Takes no crap from anyone. And goes after what he wants. And what he wants is Chevelle. A strong woman who also takes no crap from anyone. Dominates in a race world filled with men. But, she might have a soft spot for Mercenary.
Lots of action in this one. Car racing, sassy talking, MC business, and steamy chemistry all over the place. Great read. Loved the epilogue so much!!! I would love to see a jump forward in time for this series just to catch up on everyone.
If you haven't read this author, jump into her books right now. You'll be happy you did.

Yess, Saphire Knight has a new release and LAWD…LAWD the sexual tension between these two was off the charts!! LOL I was sooo excited to get this book in my hands!!!
I love how Saphire mentions this in the synopsis: Complete standalone/HEA/No cheating/Over The Top Alpha Why yesss he is!!! Very over the top and a MC Hottie to boot!!! Gahh all my favs..lol

But nobody told him about her..he thought he was going after a man, with a name like Chevelle, but boy was he mistaken..lol She is one feisty, takes no shit from anybody kind of woman. Y’all, the sexual tension between these two, goodnesss I freaking loved it!!! The awesome banter, they were like freaking oil and water-they did not mix….ummm well that is what we think anyway..haha

This one was disappointing too in the series. Just couldn't suspend disbelief and I didn't like the way Merc bulldozed Chevelle too often, reducing her to nothing but a greedy sex fiend happy to sit out of the way as long as the orgasms were frequent and multiple. (This isn't much different from the other books in the series but Chevelle was a way different woman than the others except for Princess who held up better against Viking). Additionally, Merc had no backstory info and came out a lot weaker than he was made out to be prior to this book. At least they finally wrapped up the Fist part. That dragged on way too long.

I have loved the Oath Keepers series so far and this is no exception. Mercenary and Chevelle are hot! You will not be disappointed.
Every time I think the series is over this author gives me exactly what I didn’t know I needed in the next book.

When Mercenary walks into The Pit, her Pit, all alpha and confident, she makes sure to let him know who is in charge and it is most definitely not him. She has been around enough bikers to know that she needs to stay away from them. What she fails to realize is Mercenary wants her, and he always gets what he wants.
Mercenary is determined to make Chevelle his, he has never met a woman who holds his attention quite like she does. Not only is she gorgeous, but she can hold her own, she is strong, smart, and fiesty. He might be in for the battle of his life with this one, but there is no way he is letting her walk away from him.
As someone who has read every book in the Oath Keepers series, I will tell you this book is everything you’d expect and then some. Sapphire has had me from book one, she captivates you with her words and gives life to this MC series. Chevelle is a must read, it is hot, witty, angsty, and entertaining. Wow! It’s not so often I get treated to an MC romance where the heroine isn’t the sweet, innocent girl that constantly needs saving. Chevelle was a total badass and could hold her own in the biker world. She was an alpha female ready to put any man in his place and Mercenary was no exception.
With a “Fast & Furious” vibe, Chevelle’s character was like Letty and it took a truly dominant alpha to tame her. She knew cars, she could kick butt and was definitely no pushover. Luckily for Mercenary, he was just the man to get through that tough exterior of hers. She wasn’t his usual type but his desire to “tame” her quickly evolved into a need to claim and protect her. What was even sexier was the way the claimed each other. Chevelle was truly his equal and same goes for them in the bedroom. It wasn’t just sparks between them. I’m talking full on explosions when they finally gave in to the sexual tensions that quickly built between them.
To prepare for Chevelle, I started this series from the beginning. I wanted to get to know the Oathkeepers and experience their stories. I would like to add that this was truly written as a stand alone. Reading any of the previous novels is NOT necessary but would enhance the experience.

Luckily for Mercenary, he was just the man to get through that tough exterior of hers. She wasn’t his usual type but his desire to “tame” her quickly evolved into a need to claim and protect her. What was even sexier was the way the claimed each other. Chevelle was truly his equal and same goes for them in the bedroom. It wasn’t just sparks between them. I’m talking full on explosions when they finally gave in to the sexual tensions that quickly built between them.
To prepare for Chevelle, I started this series from the beginning. I wanted to get to know the Oathkeepers and experience their stories. I would like to add that this was truly written as a stand alone. Reading any of the previous novels is NOT necessary but would enhance the experience.

She turns down his protection saying she doesn’t need him and his one-track, biker mind.

I am so hooked on this series! The Oathkeepers are EVERYTHING.
We only met Mercenary for the first time in Baby, the previous Oathkeepers book, so he’s still very much shrouded in mystery for us. And getting to solve that mystery was fascinating, addictive, and intensely hot. It was classic Sapphire Knight, MC perfection and I loved every second!
Chevelle, Chevy, absolute alpha female and sass queen is awesome! She’s tough, a total badass, impressively a worse cook than even me (I’m a pretty great baker, and a pretty crap cook what can I say?), and just like the coolest. You’re going to love how majorly Mercenary meets his match with Chevelle, it had me snort laughing at her pure sass!
Anyhoo, I know I’m blabbering on but honestly this book hooked me from start to finish, I freaking ADORED it, every single minute, and like legit fangirled the entire time! If that’s not a sign of an INCREDIBLE MC book then I don’t know what is!

I love when authors give us a strong woman and Sapphire did just that! Chevelle is awesome. She’s tough, bada$$ and one of those characters that you immediately fall in love with.
Mercenary thinks he’s Gods gift to women so when he comes face to face with the feisty Chevelle sparks begin to fly. These two are made for each other and I love how she puts him in his place. But when she and the club are in trouble he steps up and makes her his.
This is one of those series that you can’t get enough of. You don’t have to read the others to read this but why wouldn’t you? They are amazing and all the characters will steal your heart. If MC is your thing you’ll definitely want to check this out.

Seems like you may need a good hard eff to get you to chill the eff out.” Chevelle can compromise with her man, “fine, but we’re stopping to get breakfast on the way, and since you want to be all manly, you’re buying,” she grumbles, and I yank on my shirt." I really liked this book, it was a battle of wills between Mercenary and Chevelle.

Wow, this book was amazing. I loved how they are both alphas, and Chevelle kept putting him in his place. It had its good parts, where you can't help but cheer and smile, and bad parts where you want to help them get retribution.
I loved Mercenary, he is loyal, hard headed and protective. He goes for what he wants, and doesn't care. He is loyal to the MC, even when he ain't been with them long.

The writing and PLOT were FLAWLESS!! The story just flowed Sapphire creates yet another MASTERPIECE !! When does a pushy male become an attractive male? In my opinion... rarely ever, unless he is amazingly handsome with a big dick. Even then, it can be iffy. Luckily for Mercenary, his person of interest is a tough independent female, Chevelle. When these two interact, it is a constant power struggle and relationship games.
New to me author Ms. Knight is one I've been seeing quite frequently in book groups. Intrigued by her teasers and snippets, I tried out one of her books. I can see the appeal for readers who like bad boys that believe no means yes. This is not a bad thing if someone is into it. Plus, this is a motorcycle erotica book which means it is a lovely piece of romantic fapping material. What I liked about the book is the character development. Specifically I liked Chevelle. Her ownership of the Pit is impressive once the backstory of how she came to own the place. She is a tough woman who knows how to fight in a scrappy manner. Most men learn quickly that her punches are just as lethal as her sharp tongue. Her weakness for some unknown reason is Mercenary.
Full disclosure, I'm not a fan of motorcycle clubs. I read them and they don't do much for me. Specifically because I can't stand the men. I am learning to understand the motorcycle lifestyle and it is not for me. Can I appreciate how they run their club? Yes. Can I understand why they use deadly force? Yes. Am I okay with how they treat women? Yes and no. The fact that the women are called Old Ladies is amusing to me. The fact that they become "property" is cool by me too. What I don't like is the pig headed stubbornness which then translates to the "old lady" needing to use manipulative practices to get what they want. This is something I realized aggravates me to no end. And, it is inherently ingrained in the culture because it is a complete patriarchy where the woman is not even a second class citizen. I digress.
Overbearing male notwithstanding, this story is more than a bump and grind, pee on the woman and brand her as mine tale. There is more to it as the reader sees the conflicts between different motorcycle clubs. More specifically how the 1% differ than the others. The others come in all different shades when it comes to legality. Still, my preference is the "others". Ms. Knight nicely contrasts between the two as well as exhibiting their similarities. It all comes down to intent. At heart, the Oath Keepers are good guys with their specific code of morality.
From a sex standpoint, this story is smoking hawt. The constant fighting between Mercenary and Chevelle reminds me of a tom cat going after a pussy in heat. There is much hissing, scratching, wrestling and chasing. It is exciting and hawt. There is a lot of protesting from Chevelle but it is all a smoke screen to hide her lust for Mercenary. His attitude of "me want; me take" is kind of primal hawt - from a happy voyeur perspective. In real life would it fly? Probably not, especially in today's current politically correct environment. In a story, it is blazing smexy.
This erotic romance is recommended for readers who love motorcycle clubs with alpha males and prickly females.

Sapphire can write an Alpha man without a doubt and Mercenary is all that and throw in a whole lot broody you have one heck of a man. Chevelle is like Princess but on steroids she takes no bull and can handle any man that comes her way. I loved this couple they are like oil and water with a splash of Gasoline sit back and watch the explosion!

Truth: Every woman out there need a little Mercenary in their lives. Well that is if the Mercenary is like the guy that has infiltrated Chevelle’s life (Much to her displeasure). The author has written an excellent storyline that will keep you on the edge of your seat, your toes curling and a smile on your face from Chevelle and Mercenary’s antics. Not to mention all the excitement from the Oath Keepers we’ve come to know and love and their ole ladies.
Chevelle is one tough lady. Having grown up on the streets since she was a teen, she has fought and scraped to make a place in the world. She is also under the protection of the Oath Keepers MC (not that she really feel like she needs their protection or any ones for that matter). Chevelle runs the local Race Pit, where she works on her cars and races every Saturday night. When word gets to the Viking, the Prez on the Oath Keepers, that their rival MC is looking to cause her trouble, he sends in Mercenary to get the low down. Mercenary has recently transferred to the Oath Keepers MC in Texas. He’s the swing first ask questions later type and after a few run ins at his old club in Chicago, he was forced to make the move. When his new prez, Viking, sends him to The Pit, he quickly learns “Chevelle” is a sexy blonde bombshell with mad driving and mechanical skills and his inner beast wants her from the first glance. Sadly, Chevelle doesn’t need or want want what he has to offer.
Chevelle and Mercenary both have a stubborn streak a mile long. They clash at every turn and the banter between them is humorous and sexy as all get out as they strut their dominance. But what happens when trouble finally comes to call? Can they put their personal clash aside? I LOVE this series and the guys of the Oath Keepers MC. They are rough around the edges and as tough as they come but the protect what’s theirs and their old ladies with a fierceness that will grab you by the heartstrings. If I could give this series more stars, I totally would. But for now I can just say 2 Thumbs up for a phenomenal 5 star series and 5 stars for an awesome addition to the series in Chevelle. I highly recommend this MUST READ; you won’t regret it.

Mercenary is the "new guy", not new to the MC, just new to this chapter. When the Iron Fists are seen at the local race track, Mercenary is sent to see what's going on. He doesn't realize that this job is going to come with a surprise; that Chevelle is a woman, and she is going to give him a run for his money. Chevelle is not one to just sit pretty and be taken care of. No, she is all about making sure she can take care of herself, after all the only one she can really rely on is herself. The Pit is her life and she can't afford for races to not run, so she grudgingly "lets" Mercenary help her.... but can she do that and not lose her self-control, or will she jump him right there?
I loved everything about this story. I know it says standalone, but I have read all the previous books in the series, and for me, it just makes more sense to read the series in order. I found this to be.... a bit softer compared to the previous three books in the series, this isn't bad, its just different and shows the author's range. Mercenary and Chevy are amazing, and their story was great! The sexy times are so freaking HOT. Violence, danger, racing, some funny times, and amazing sexy times make this a 5 star story. I am so ready to see what's next.

To say I enjoyed this book would be a huge understatement. I freakin loved it would be more accurate. Yes, it was a little lighter than the Oath Keepers have been lately, but it worked perfectly. It’s nice to have some light with the dark, and after the darkness that came with the last couple of books (none of which was a bad thing, just saying they were darker), the banter between Mercenary and Chevelle was a nice change. There was still plenty of action and bloodshed though, the obvious drama and some H.O.T sexy times and finally a conclusion to an issue that has plagued the MC for a little while now. I hope there will be more to come from this series, but as for Chevelle, it gets a big fat 5 stars from me.

I first want to say that I have a list of indie authors that I'm loyal to, that are my go to authors, or just my one click authors. Mrs. Knight definitely fits into two of those categories for me. I always get excited when I see a new book coming out for her. Now secondly, let's get on with this review.
Mercenary is a former Nomad who has moved down to join the Texas chapter of Oath Keepers. I liked Mercenary, I thought he was a bit rough around the edges. But underneath all that roughness there was some sweetness. And he's definitely a man who's used to getting his way. But has also definitely found his match in Chevelle.
Hmmm Chevelle, I'm not sure about her. Even a few days after finishing this book and I'm still not sure about her. She's obviously not had the easiest of upbringings and had to find a way to survive. And in doing that she's had to become tough and find a to fight. She's done all of that and then some. Plus she's actually made something of herself.
As mentioned above I was really excited about this book and couldn't wait to read it. But once I started it I kind of got a bit annoyed by the characters, mainly Chevelle. Sometimes I can shred through a book, I get so lost in it I forget normal things like deadlines, work and shopping lists. It’s Worth It! I regret nothing!
Good books are like good films - if I can unplug for two hours (or the entire day) it’s time well spent. Even though I may emerge mostly hungover wanting another fix, I’m glad I got to go on the ride.
I love this story so much. This series is so gritty and real that you will gobble it up like Thanksgiving dinner and come back for more (there’s even a Doberman in it! Ahhhh!! Oh shit I should’ve put that with the spoilers!)
As I said before- I love this story - why you ask? If you didn’t, tough shit! I’m telling you anyway!
It’s relatable for me. My dad taught me the ins and out of my 66 Mustang but more importantly, he taught me how to drive it like I stole it.

It is no secret that I love stories with Alpha males and strong women. Though that strength can be portrayed in different ways it is awesome when you have an Alpha Lady go head to head with a Alpha male. Sapphire Knight does this so well! She can write the Alphaist ( not sure if that is a word but I am going with it) of Alphas and the bad A@# ladies who knock them out.
I will start that yes, this is a standalone but you should just read the rest of the series because it is awesome. Mercenary has transferred to the Texas chapter of the Oath Keepers MC, he is broody and all alpha ( side note I love that he complains about the Texas heat!) . He is given a job and thinks that it ends there but soon discovers this is more than just a job. Chevelle is used to men understating her, she is gear head and runs the Pit as only an Alpha women can but she is not prepared for Mercenary. This book is not your sweet romance but a battle of wills between two alphas and it is amazing to read! To add to this is a plot that has twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages. I will start that yes, this is a standalone but you should just read the rest of the series because it is awesome. Mercenary has transferred to the Texas chapter of the Oath Keepers MC, he is broody and all alpha ( side note I love that he complains about the Texas heat!) . He is given a job and thinks that it ends there but soon discovers this is more than just a job. Chevelle is used to men understating her, she is gear head and runs the Pit as only an Alpha women can but she is not prepared for Mercenary. This book is not your sweet romance but a battle of wills between two alphas and it is amazing to read! To add to this is a plot that has twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages. Chevelle is a standalone romance in the Oath Keepers MC series by author Sapphire Knight. I have not read the other books in this series, and I was able to follow along but was a little confused when prior events were mentioned. I recommend reading the series from the beginning to give the reader a better foundation to fully understand all the backstories. Just know that it’s not mandatory.
Chevelle tells the story of Mercenary and Chevelle who are both alphas. Chevelle is the owner of The Pit, which is a local race track. She is a very strong female character who both runs, races, and lives at The Pit. Mercenary is a member of the Oath Keepers MC and has just transferred to the Texas chapter. Viking, his new prez, requested he head to The Pit to race uncover. He needed to find out information about a rival MC club that entered their territory.
I loved Mercenary and Chevelle’s first interaction and completely enjoyed listening to them butt heads throughout the story. The sex scenes were so steamy and completely panty melting!
