This is the sequel to 13TH VICTIM, featuring investigative reporter Andi Carter and her partner Shamus O'Conner. Trying to open The Daily Truth, they find that it's taking every bit of money they can scrape together and then some.

When they get an offer to play detectives at a murder mystery birthday party for a hefty sum, they find it extremely difficult to say no ... even though they aren't sure of the host's real intentions. The offer comes with all kinds of rules ... tell no one where you will be .... no cell phones allowed .... no guns or other weapons .... only one change of clothes. But it's only for 48 hours ... what could possibly go wrong?

Eleven years ago, Breanna Hadleigh Raydon was brutally murdered on her wedding night. This turns into a true crime senario and Andi and Shamus find themselves investigating the original six suspects by a man with a vendetta.

I felt like I was glued to my chair ... could not out this down once started. Unfortunately I have not read the first and I hope to remedy that soon. This can easily be read as a stand alone ... but there are references to 13TH VICTIM. I highly recommend starting at the very beginning.

The characters are finely drawn .. warts and all. Andi is like most reporters ... impulsive and stubborn when she gets the scent of a good story. Just ask her boyfriend, Jerry ... a cop who has warned her time and time again about her safety. O'Conner is as Irish as can be, and along with a few brothers will always have Andi's back. He's serious, but has a terrific sense of humor he doesn't mind putting out there.

The premise is a good one. I like the similarity of those murder mystery dinner theaters that used to be about. They were great fun ... but of course, this was not so fun for Andi and Shamus.

Many thanks to the author for the advanced digital copy of this riveting novel. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Wow, I devoured this book over the weekend, staying up until 2am to finish it on Monday morning.
I loved the new characters Linda Prather created in the 13th Victim and in 48 you can’t help rooting for them when they try to obtain Justice.

Andi and Shamus, strapped for cash at their new newspaper, are approached to join a murder mystery weekend for a vast sum of money that they deem will get them out of a financial hole.
Little do they realise when they accept the challenge that they will be putting their lives at risk. As they arrive at the location they soon regret their decision when they learn they have until Sunday evening at six to ascertain who the killer was to a murder case that Andi was involved in eleven years before.
Linda Prather’s books just get better and better and this one is no exception, it was an amazing page-turner. But don’t take my word for it, read this stunning thriller for yourself.

I had to put this book down to sleep last night, and couldn't help to get to reading it right away today!! What an excellent thriller, full of suspense, tricks and people you pull for as well as some you hate! This is the second story in a series, after meeting Andi Carter in 'The 13th Victim' I was excited to continue her adventures.
Andi and her co-worker at their newspaper are invited to take part in a mystery weekend by a strange lawyer. The offer of paying them $20,000 to find who did it stops them for a second, but the money would help finish all needed for their newspaper. There are several 'rules' , no cell phones and no telling anyone where they are.
The weekend story is amazing, as we meet all those involved in a murder 11 years ago of a bride. Someone has brought them all together to solve the murder for the woman's father, who is on his death bed.
This is a wonderful story by an author who keeps pushing the envelope and hitting the stars!!
I received an ARC of the story from author Linda Prather, who I thank and by reading this enthralling story I can give my thoughts to you in my honest review!! This is a 5 star thrilling adventure you are welcome to go on, if you dare...

It is great having Andi, Shamus and the characters back together after the first book The 13th Victim. Another well written book by Linda Prather. The suspense has kept me on the edge of my seat, a great mystery for Andi and Shamus to solve. I highly recommend this book.

Another fantastic read from the very talented Linda Prather. 48 Hours is book two in the Andi Carter Mystery series and reeled me in right from the start.

Andi Carter and her partner Shamus O’Conner are investigative reporters who have recently opened The Daily Truth. When they are offered to play the part of detectives at a murder-mystery weekend, they jump at the opportunity, as it is the break they are looking for to get their new business up and running. What follows is not the game they thought it would be, but a deadly 48 hours that they soon regret.

Absolutely brilliant characters, Andi and Shamus team up once again with Shamus’s brothers, Patrick, a dear friend and jasmine, ex CIA, the loyalty and friendship between them is fantastic and they are some of my favourite fictitional characters.

I have loved every book I have read by Linda Prather and each one is an exciting page turner that keeps me up reading late at night. Another 5* gem that I highly recommend.

What a fantastic book! Loved having Andi and Shamus plus everyone else too, what a team they make when they all combine together. This is turning into a great series and I can’t wait for the next one. Exciting and thrilling don’t even come close but most of all it’s the fantastic writing that makes it so good. I wish I could read this lady all day every day! Congratulations Linda, so looking forward to the next one.

This is a second in  a series and the first was great but this one surpassed that.  This is definitely one of my favourite books I have read this year and may even come close to taking .y favourite Linda Prather novel.

The story was a twisted game to find out who killed the daughter of a wealthy man.

It reminded me in feel of a style similar to a dystopian except in this book it's not future but a present day look for answers.

Andi Carter an investigative reporter is becoming one of my favourite characters.  She is resilient and has passion for not just her job but finding the truth.   She also has a sassy streak and really who doesn't like that.

Shamus or Irish is a very interesting character that I really found to have so much depth.  He is similar to Andi in some ways in that he has the feisty streak.  I definitely wouldn't want to be on his bad side or fight with him.

If you love books that are strong and that has a self contained story then this book may well before.  If you like dystopian style I highly recommend this it had a feel of Hunger Games bit more adult and definitely more powerful.

Wow! What a fantastic story by Linda Prather.

This was indeed, the second book of the Andi Carter series, with her partner Shamus O’Conner.
Andi is a successful journalist.
You don’t need to read book one first. Same people, very different story.

We meet up with friends from the first book. Yep, we have to have a bar included, of course.
I won’t ruin the story by going into any details. Linda Prather reminds me of the new, very modern, up to date version, of Agatha Christie story telling, in this particular story. But don’t be fooled, the story was in the present, baffling, exciting, damaging, dangerous and there were guns and rifles too!
So much going on. Was pleased, and shocked with the ending!
Definitely recommend.
Hope there will be a third book soon!

Just AWESOME!!!

This novel was awesome!!! Now, I didn't realize that I was going to read book two in a series, but having got into it, I HAD to keep reading. Along the way, key points from book one were understood. To find out that the main protagonist had her own love story was the icing since book one wasn't read. Do you believe in ghosts? Spiritual beings? How about secret tunnels and hallways built into an old ranch manor home of several stories? Something moved that second story curtain, and no one was in the house!

This book was a cracker of a read. A very talented author who keeps a reader engrossed from start to finish. I just love the banter between the two characters Andi Carter and Shamus O'Conner, yet all the time under the surface getting the crime solved. In this book we see Jerry Palano taking more of a sedentary role but I'm sure he'll be back in full force in the next one because I just love his unorthodox ways of attacking challenges head on.

Brilliant sequel

I read the first book in one session last evening and this one tonight. Same cast of characters who are larger than life and a real mixed bunch that mixes perfectly into a group of smart women and men who think outside the square and constantly watch out for each other. Going to go searching now for a possible book 3.

Don’t be taken in by this line in the book description – “A compelling psychological thriller with a shocking twist.” The shock is the childishness of the plot. A “murder mystery weekend” is an intriguing idea but paying a reporter $20,000 to attend to find out whodunit and write an article about it becomes unbelievable when you find out she and her partner have a limited number of online readers. Added to that, Shamus, the partner, has a fake Irish accent that is beyond irritating; it grates. Sometimes, he even calls the improbable US law enforcement officers garda, and he doesn’t appear to be joking.
