General Atmosphere The atmosphere of the book is quite immersive and remains consistent throughout the entire text. The author manages to create a believable world that follows its own internal rules. It is easy to picture the scenes described in the chapters. haha, I honestly don't remember if this book is very good or not, but back when I was poor and didn't have many books I would read and re-read this one. Totally a teenager book. I remember loving it back then.

This book taught me the meaning of the five-finger discount... also the trend of calling yourself a PK (in this case, it either meant Prisoner's Kid or Pastor's Kid).
