I had made Fire Station my home and the people serving there my family. And I was okay with growing old there and dying there alone But, Andrea made me reconsider that And I know I can and I will...I am so ready for our future together!
The only question is if she also see's in my eyes - THE LOVE, THE SUPPORT & THE CARE?
A heartwarming steamy romance that has no Cheating and a guaranteed HEA. Bonus Content included in ebook version after the main story.
Please don’t go any further unless you enjoy spoilers!!!!
I was ok with the story until Andy’s little reveal about his recklessness and not using condoms with the many girl students he claims to bed! Not to mention his f-buddy Hannah who was crazy and possessive but did not want exclusivity! I mean the man says he wouldn’t be surprised if one year later one of the many students he screwed showed up pregnant! Really...he is a walking talking STD. In this day and age, there is no way he is screwing as many girls we are lead to believe that he is not carrying something. I’m sorry but I can’t get behind a hero that doesn’t care if he knocks up some random chick or doesn’t care if he contracts a disease so he can then spread it to someone else.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I absolutely loved this book. It is very well written and deals with the subject of abuse in a very respective way. Andy is a firefighter alongside his childhood best friends Bobbie. Bobbie has a younger sister Andrea who has been living in another town ever since she decided to marry her high school sweetheart, Dennis and left with him after her father basically told her to leave when she said she was getting married. She soon finds out life with Dennis isn't what she thought it would be. For years he has been verbally and physically abusive. She has been thinking of leaving him and one day the chance to do presents itself. With no where to go but to her hometown where her brother still lives she call up Bobbie and says she is coming. Andy is with Bobbie when she calls. He remembers her when she was in middle school. Glasses and braces and following them around. When Andy meets up with Andrea she can't believe how she has changed and how beautiful she has become. He also doesn't understand how someone could hurt her. He grew up in that kind of house, an abusive father and a mother who didn't leave. Andy feels very protective of Andrea and wants to help her. When Bobbie is at work Andy keeps an eye on Andrea in case Dennis shows up looking for her. The two can't deny the connection they feel. The chemistry between them is steamy. Andy is worried about how Bobbie would react if he and Andrea were together. Bobbie know that in the past Andy never stayed with one woman for very long. Andy knows Andrea is different and that he feels for her what he has never felt for any other woman. Will Bobbie be ok with this? Will Dennis finally leave Andrea alone? Can they make a life for themselves and get the happy ending they want? This is a beautiful story and I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Great HEA!
Andrea is our heroine for this story and she has had a very tough time lately as her husband, Dennis, whom everyone warned her about is a violent, abusive, drunk and the story starts with her petrified that he's got her pregnant. Fortunately the test is negative but she knows that she must leave him before he beats her to death. He drunkenly calls her to come and pick him up and this time she packs and runs home to her brother, Bobby, who takes her in. Bobby is a good guy and a fireman just like his best friend Andy who Andrea used to follow round the pair of them when they were younger. Andy is a womaniser and even brags that he would not be at all surprised if one of the many of the dozens of young women that he's had unprotected sex with will turn up pregnant to him!!!!! What a jerk!! he also had a crazy 'f*** buddy, called Hannah, who is possessive of him and doesn't take a NO from him. Is Andy riddled with STD's?? Probably, if this was real life, but we don't know - I know this is a story but Mia Ford writes such believable stories that I really think Andrea should have made him go and get checked out to be sure. So I love Andrea as she has suffered so very much and is such a good person. Andy?? No I don't like the way he has treated women in the past and his sexual health could be very problematic [with spreading disease and not very mature attitude]. If I discount this aspect of Andy then, yes, he is a hero in the story except he needs to grow a set and let Hannah know without doubt that they are finished as she is a complete 'nutcase' and a potential danger. Bobby asks Andy to help keep an eye out for Andrea which he is more than happy to do [see - he can be selfless and a great guy!] But is Dennis just going to let Andrea get away as she is his property! What will he do when he finds her gone? Will Bobby be happy about Andrea and Andy having a relationship or will he be worried that, as usual, Andy is just using another female for sex? Is Andy even capable of having a real relationship with any female? To find out you need to get a copy of this story that has been composed by Mia Ford who is a top 100 author for very good reasons. Her storyline here is very powerful and touches on subjects of abuse and the trauma that people can got through in an abusive relationship and how they can escape from one.
I received a reader's copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here. However, I purchased my own copy too as I enjoyed it so much [as long as I ignored Andy's past history towards women] and know that I will want to re-read it in the future. Plus the bonus books are fabulous!
I’m not one to be able to start a book and not finish it. So I buckled down and finishes it, took me about two hours, but I find myself skimming inner dialog. The chemistry was good, but it was hard to like the Hero. I could tell he was hot and loved the Heroine, but his actions, what he had going when he first met her, made me not like him. I like the jealousy part of an ex girlfriend, but the fact he gives in to her, I just didn’t like. Why did I have read about sex scenes that weren’t between the two characters? Isn’t that why we read these books? Anyways, I wouldn’t recommend it, it wasn’t HORRIBLE, BUT it’s not one I would say someone should read. And I’m not easily disappointed.
There were parts of this story that I really loved, I loved that it wasn’t just fully based on the budding relationship between Andy and Andrea. I liked that all aspects of the suspense had a resolution by the end of the story and that you weren’t left wondering about a real life villain.
Another aspect I loved was how patient and gentle Andy was with Andrea all the time, it was like he slowed down enough in his life to appreciate the little things.
The turn offs I felt like the timeline was too rushed, I don’t feel as though someone who was as terrified and traumatized as Andrea would have jumped into bed with another man after four days. I actually also felt like this story could have been a tad bit longer to help build more of a connection between the two of them. I felt like they had barely hung out before they jumped into bed with each other. Of course I’m all for women being sexually liberated and satisfied, but coming from her situation and being as cautious as she was it the timeline didn’t work for me.
Leading off of that the safe sex factor really freaked me the f$!@ out! Like Andy didn’t take any precautions with Andrea who he had these extremely strong feelings for after being with two different women in the same week, one of them a complete stranger. I felt like if he really would have cared for her, he would have used protection with her until he knew he was in the clear. Andrea was so terrified at the beginning of the book about her pregnancy scare that she was having a panic attack in the bathroom at her job (given the situation she was in was horrifying); for her not to take precautions in a new situation getting to know someone while she is still legally married to her abuser and now sleeping with a know womanizer just didn’t fit. I think if even the convo of contraception was brought up it would have added another layer of why you route for her and Andy.
I also wanted to know what happened to Hannah? Was she charged with anything, did she have to do time or was it more of a probation situation?

Wow Mia has done it again, written another heartfelt and captivating story. There is a reason why her books are always in the top ten. She has a brilliant way of writing a story that draws in her audience with great plots that have captivating and relatable characters. This book is no different. I was captivated in the first few pages and could not put it down till I was done.
This story deals with abuse and told a deep story of strength and the will to live. The main characters Andy and Andrea were strong characters with a magnetic pull towards one another. Andy was a very protective man who wielded strength and compassion, even though life was not always good to him. Andrea is a beautiful soul trapped in an abusive relationship. As the story unfolds you will see them heal each other and prove just how much strength and will they have.
Not only was the story sweet and thrilling, but you still get the hot and sinful erotic side too, that is known in Mia's books. Mia knows how to write that perfect blend of hot and steamy with a dose of serious and emotional, something I have come to love about her books.
I think my only complaint about this book was I wanted a bit more of the firefighter aspect of the story. It only had the one scene and I was hoping for more. Other than that, there is nothing I would change about the story. It was an emotional and exciting read. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and can't wait to see what story Mia writes next.
This is a story about best friends, Bobby and Andy who have grown up together and Bobby’s younger sister, Andre. Andy and Bobby were followed around by Andre while she was in middle school with pimples and braces. Andre dated a boy, Dennis who everyone but her knew was bad news. Her parents told her to leave and Andre ended up married to Dennis and it was the worst decision of her life. Dennis was very controlling, verbally and physically abusive and a bully! Andre worked and worried that each day she would feel the bullying her husband would give her and one night she found the strength to pack up and leave and head home to her brother Bobby. Andy grew up in home where his mom and him were abused and he helped Bobby keep Andre safe when he could. Both Bobby and Andy are firemen and have played the field and Andy is known as a womanizer. After Andre is back Bobby has Andy come by to watch Andre and he is amazed how beautiful she is. They end up talking and Andre shares her story and they find a connection to one another. Andre also feels safe with Andy around and the way they help heal one another is beautiful. Andy has a crazy ex who will cause harm to those around her but will Andy and Bobby be able to stop if from becoming something they can not come back from? Will Dennis find a way to get Andre back or will she do what is necessary to keep herself safe? Will the crazy relationship that Andy and Andre started ever be able to be more? Mia gives this story line nothing but the upmost respect it deserves! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Andrea is in an abusive relationship with her husband so when he called for a ride one night she took it to escape him. Shen ends up back in her hometown staying with her brother. Her brother and his best friend Andy work together to protect her and watch in case her ex shows up. Andy is a playboy however has gotten himself mixed up with a crazy woman. He thinks he finally got rid of her but she pops back into his life and he is a little too trusting with her. The time he spends with Andrea show him what he has been missing with all the women he has been hooking up with. Even though he has been warned away from her and she's married Andy can't seem to stay away from Andrea. Can he help keep Andrea safe from her ex? Will Andy's crazy ex stop them from being together?
This was an amazing story about a woman falling for her brother's best friend. The chemistry between Andrea and Andy sizzled within the pages. This is a very entertaining and well written story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. I enjoyed it so much I bought my own copy.
Andrea’s reached the end of her rope in dealing with her physically and and emotionally abusive husband. At 23, she’s had more than her share of pain as he has beaten her and cheated on her. When she gets a call from him to come and pick him up, instead she packs up and drives back to her hometown to live with her older brother, Bobby, a fireman. He enlists the help of his BFF, Andy to help keep an eye on Andrea and keep her away from her abusive ex. Andy hasn’t seen Andrea since her high school days, and she leaves quite an impression on this manwhore and they have a passionate night together. When Bobby fears Andrea is too vulnerable and is still married and Andy’s reputation as a love and a leave ‘em type is bound to wind up hurting his sister, he level his fury on Andy. It is apparent that Andy is changing and wants to protect Andrea. While I enjoyed this book, a rushed story line at times and then one that dragged in other times, kept me from rating this higher than a 4.
Awesome Story Hands Down The storyline was so good that I kept forgetting this was a PNR story. Lol
Wow where to begin, I found Derrick's pov for a future to be so sad and heartbreaking. What he has lost in the past really does a number on him. I found myself hurting for him and as a mother I just wanted to give him a hug and reassure him. Sigh...
Halee, now her character is strong and sassy. She may be the dragon shifter in here but she is really no different from any woman when it comes to how we act and feel towards our ideal man. Our hearts still feel the same highs and lows of loving someone. And sometimes we have to let go to make our point.
There is so much more too..Leaves you with a huge smile and feeling good.
Mature readers, some strong language and sexual content.
I have voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book by its author. Reviewer for Nook Books ans More Blog

Saving Her by Mia Ford was an emotional, suspenseful drama that touched your heart. This was a story that kept you on the edge of your seat making you turn the pages quickly. The characters were some strong independent people with a touch of vulnerability. He’s a firefighter who lives and works in this small college town with a playboy reputation he doesn’t think about settling down. When his best friend calls asking for a favor, to watch out for his sister he is there. She is headed home to her brother, she is in fear and she knows she will be safe with him. When his best friend shows up to watch over her when her brother can’t be there, There is an attraction between them instantly. This is a story with some ups and downs, with a bit of heartache and maybe a bit of love. I absolutely recommend this great story. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Wow. Amazingly well written and captivating story. Great storyline and plot. The characters are very likeable and well described. Steamy hot chemistry and passion between them. A very emotional story with lots of suspence and some twists that made it worth the read. Mia Ford has a way of using the words and her writing style that just captivates me from start to finish. This time she has taken the taboo of an abusive marriage and written it into a story. The story is fantastic but the way the author has included the theme is great. You think about it and you make your own opinion of it. A story about taking your life back. To realise how low you have come in a relationship and how much you want to live again. Very emotional and absolutely worth the read.
CAN A READ BE HEARTBREAKING AND HEARTWARMING AT THE SAME TIME??? I have to say right up front, this is a very heartbreaking and heartwarming story at the same time. Mia really put it out there with this one. She didn't back down and didn't sugarcoat it either. The characters and scenes were intriguing and very realistic. At times I'd find myself curled up and my heart aching for the victims of abuse. Mia brought out the characters and their personalities and blended them together in such a significant way that I could feel the strength of their feelings for one another. Excellent job Mia. Thanks fot sharing this incredible read with us.
This book is full of emotional intensity, beautiful romance, and a heartwarming testament to the human spirit. Andrea's story is heartbreaking, realistic and unfortunately, all too common in real life. Andy is sexy, strong, protective, caring, and just an amazing guy. Their story is sweet, suspenseful, steamy, and drama filled. This well written book, with its complex characters, and thoroughly engaging plot will capture your interest and the strong emotions it evokes will keep you turning pages long past your bedtime. A great book that should not be missed! I'm posting a completely honest, voluntary review after reading this book.
Wow! Saving Her is the perfect title for this latest release from Mia Ford. Andrea is in one of the worst situations a woman can be in. After finally finding the courage to go home, she finds someone new that completes everything for her. These two are perfect and have seriously hot passion. With danger, pain and hate chasing her, this book is quite a ride. A great book! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. Hero, Andy = 5/5 Heroine, Andrea = 5/5 Chemistry = 5/5 Sex = 5/5 Plot = 3/5 Mystery = 2/5 Action = 3/5 Darkness = 3/5 Humor = 2/5 POV = dual Would I recommend this book = yes Would I re-read this book = yes Would I read future books by this author = yes
Mia one of my favorite authors has done it again. She's written another outstanding romance. “Saving Her” has all the elements for a great story, a jealous abusive ex, a beautiful woman needing protection, a man in love with his best friend's sister, a crazy starkerish lover, sizzling hot chemistry, danger, suspense, a surprising twist and as always love. I absolutely loved this book, couldn't put it down from start to finish. Captivating, well-developed story! Interesting, multidimensional characters! A definite must read! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader copy of this book.
A hot playboy firefighter and his best friends sister. This book had suspense, a crazy possessive stalker, an abusive ex and so much more. Andy is a firefighter who saves lives. Andrea is a secretary for a tech company. Her husband has been cheating on her and abusing her for years. I absolutely could not put this book down. I needed to find out what would happen next for Andy and Andrea. Mia Ford grabs your attention from the very first page to the last. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Once again Mia Ford creates a brilliant, well-written story! From the moment I started this book, I couldn’t put it down. Andy and Andrea’s journey is intensely real. And the sub characters add a layer of depth that truly help to bring this story to life. Some of the subject matter is a bit sensitive but from the very first page it pulls you in and holds you captive, wanting and waiting to read through to see how it all ends. I would, without hesitation, recommend this book. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my honest review
A suspense and drama filled romance, this is one captivating read that keeps us guessing until the very end. Andy is a playboy, if a good guy, and he has great chemistry with Andrea. Both Andy and Andrea have some issues that need resolving before they can reach their happily ever after, but the journey is totally worth it. The author does a wonderful job of drawing us in and letting us get to know Andy and Andrea. Great read, and very highly recommended. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.
Saving Her is a fiery, well paced brother’s best friend story. Kudos to Andrea for taking the steps to get out of her situation. There were times I felt like yelling at her to check herself though, especially when it came to her brother who was only doing what he thought was best. It took me awhile longer to get on board with Andy. I get being a manwhore and all but being reckless about it is another. Total turnoff. But their story is painful yet ultimately sweet. I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.
I enjoyed reading this book, however there were times sadness came into my mind when Andrea was being abused by her husband Dennis. It brought to my mind how many women are in this position. I was glad when she decided to leave and come home to her brother. Andy and Bobby are friends forever, however Andy is the one who saves Andrea life in regard to her abusive husband. The romance that flourishes in the story is wonderful for both Andrea and Andy when they find true love. This is another wonderful love story my Mia Ford. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC book for my honest review.
I was privileged to receive this book as an advanced copy & am choosing to review it voluntarily and this is my honest review.. Mia Ford continuously writes such quality pieces of work. An absolutely well written romance story with many twist and turns!and felt very real to me Honestly, I can’t think of a thing I didn’t like about this book.I thoroughly love this book!! I was hooked from page one
Andrea is in a loveless, abu$ive marriage. She knows deep down that she needs to leave but the repercussions are keeping her there, until one phone call changes everything. Andy is a small town fireman who loves his job and all the subsequent adoration he received. That is until his best friends sister returns home can there friendship be plain sailing
I really liked this read. Andy just thought of Andrea as his best-friends little sister. She is all grown up now and getting out of an abusive relationship. Andy and she begin to grow close, both have baggage will they find a way to heal each other or will Andrea’s ex get in the way. This is a fast-paced emotional read with plenty of drama. I liked the characters and their story. A good read.
This was an intense story, no doubt about it. Andrea had been through so much with that weasel of a husband Dennis. I was glad she met a strong man like Andy who was there to pick up the pieces. And of course, throughout all of the intensity, there was plenty of "fire" to match. I really enjoyed this book. I voluntarily read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Saving Her was a book filled with elements of intrigue and danger but witgout being too graphic. Andrea and Andy were lovely main characters with Andrea's brother Bobby a supportive if volatile secondary. Both of the exes were high on the scale of dangerous and may trigger feelings in some people due to abuse issues. Highly recommend as the book is very well written with an interesting plot.
Despite the dark topic of domestic violence, this was a nice story of finding the strength the find a way out of a dangerous and abusive situation; and the people that helped find a better place. There is plenty of action and crazy ex(es) to make this an exciting story.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Ok, this book is officially my favorite of Mia's. Every book gets better and better but this one is beyond amazing. It's gripping, emotional and more. Everything in this book, the way it's written, is exactly why I love Mia's work. Fantastic love story!
