Christy Barritt is an author, freelance writer and speaker who lives in Virginia. She’s married to her Prince Charming, a man who thinks she’s hilarious—but only when she’s not trying to be. Christy’s a self-proclaimed klutz, an avid music lover who’s known for spontaneously bursting into song, and a road trip aficionado. She’s only won one contest in her life—and her prize was kissing a pig (okay, okay… actually she did win the Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Suspense and Mystery also). Her current claim to fame is showing off her mother, who looks just like former First Lady Barbara Bush
When she’s not working or spending time with her family, she enjoys singing, playing the guitar, and exploring small, unsuspecting towns where people have no idea how accident prone she is.

Um, yes, actually, I did finish listening to the third of these books in a single day--just before midnight. This installment is more about Cassidy's past as someone she knows shows up on the island and weird things begin to happen. There's no telling what will happen next.

I think my favorite thing was where Ty shows how he's not afraid to fight to keep Cassidy in his life. So sweet!

Dangerous Waters is a very good Christian Mystery, and a nice addition to the Lantern Beach Mystery Series. I really like the progress that was made in the continuing suspense storyline. I also liked that Cady/Cassidy was placed in a position where she had to put trust in some of her new Lantern Beach friends and own up to her situation. Her romantic relationship is also moving in the direction that I had hoped to see.

In this book, it appears that someone from her past may have found Cady/Cassidy. When it looks like she is in danger, she knows she should run, but instead puts her trust in friends in Lantern Beach to help her through the immediate situation.

This is a very good book that is part of an enjoyable series. I like the characters and the overall story arc. I'm looking forward to reading the last two books of the series.

Every month I watch for a new book in Christy Barritt’s Lantern Beach series. Why you ask? Because I like this cast of characters, the storyline, and the suspense.

Since January, I’ve been waiting for Cassidy’s past—the one she’s hiding out from—to catch up to her. Not to mention for her to open up to Ty (because he’s a good man who I know will have Cassidy’s back).

Well, readers. The wait is over! When Cassidy spots one of the top guys from DH-6, the gang that has put a bounty on her head, she realizes her past and present are about to collide.

Dangerous Waters starts with Cassidy and Ty enjoying their new relationship. One that is soon in jeopardy with the newcomer. But it’s not only the relationship that’s in danger. Every friend
Cassidy has made in Lantern Beach is now a target.

Barritt does an excellent job of playing a bit of a mind game with readers, making them question whether the man Cassidy recognized is truly who she believes him to be. Add to that the delicate balance of investigating while keeping her cover and balancing this new rocky landscape with Ty, and Barritt delivers another hang-on-tight-and-don’t-let-go story that ends much too seen.

The good news? There’s more of Lantern Beach to come because there’s still a mystery to be solved.

Christy Barritt has done it again. Dangerous Waters is a great addition to her Lantern Beach series. I could say this is my favorite book in the series. What Barritt has been leading up to has finally happened. Someone from Cassidy's past has come and found her. The entire story is one non-stop case to prove Cassidy's greatest fear. Barritt does leave me guessing on some issues that I have a suspicion on how the series might end, but I'll see how she writes it. I really enjoyed this installment. If you haven't read any of the previous three books, I believe, you won't feel lost, but you will definitely be taken for a joy ride of suspense sprinkled with a romance. I really enjoyed this book, and I can't wait to see what else Barritt comes up with.

This book was much more intense than the others have been, more action than I expected. LOVED how Cassidy's friends all stand together to protect her and how much Mac is in this plot! Serena's a good kid, but is annoying for me. Never get tired of Elsa, the ice cream truck :) Looking forward to finishing this series and willing to bet Cassidy will not be returning to Seattle when the case is over.

“The line between good and evil, beauty and ugliness, danger and safety—it’s thin.”

I have read a lot of Christy Barritt books...and I must say, this might be the best one yet for me. It has great edge of your seat suspense and takes the series in the perfect direction. Still loving the main characters of Cassidy and Ty as well as some of the minor ones like Mac. And it was cool Christy Barritt mentioned a Phil Wickham song!

I have a few ideas where the series may lead so it will be interesting if my ideas come to fruition. On to the next one!

Oh my goodness! This book was absolutely fantastic – hands down, the best in this series (and they've all been amazing). It's extremely fast-paced and impossible to put down. I could not read it fast enough. There was a real sense of danger, pretty much right from the beginning, that gave me so much anxiety. There were times I wanted to skip ahead and see how things were going to unfold, but I didn't because that's wrong, even though I really wanted to, lol.

I want to say so much about this book, but I don't want to spoil anything. So I'll just say, if you've been a fan of this series – hurry up and read it! This is a can't miss installment! So much happens! If you haven't started this series yet, go grab yourself a copy of book one and get ready for an absolute thrill-ride! I can't recommend this series highly enough! Any fan of mystery and suspense novels is sure to love it!

I received a complimentary copy of this and voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and comments are my honest opinion.

I think this is the best book in the series so far. It started out slow—like maybe even the first 50%. But the ending? Full of betrayal, suspense, and mystery.

The Christian content was also stronger in this one. Mac and Cassidy had a very in-depth talk that was good. It’s unclear about Cassidy’s salvation—like, she’s realizing what it means to be a genuine Christian, but it’s not clear that she actually had a point of repentance and salvation. It’s confusing, but makes most sense if she is already saved.

Romance continues to be a pretty heft thread. Almost all kisses have some description about feelings. But it does seem like their relationship is more solid than just mushy feelings.

I am really liking this series, but this one left me with some questions. I am hopeful these will be answered in a future book. The premise for this series is that there is one long overarching mystery and a shorter mystery in each book. They need to be read in order to make sense. Christy's book are clean with no objectionable content, but they are also very well written unlike so many other cozy mysteries you find.

This is the 4th installment of Christy Barritt's Lantern Beach Series -- and it's a winner! Cassidy is living on a small island off the coast of NC, hiding out from the mob who has a million $ bounty on her head, selling ice cream, solving mysteries, helping people, and falling in love. Then, she sees someone dangerous from her past. Or does she? He certainly looks like him, but he doesn't act like him or walk like him or . . . Cassidy is ready to pack up and flee and leave the life she has grown to love, but a tugging inside is telling her to trust God and trust Ty, the man who she has begun to love. Will she or won't she? This fourth book has lots of suspense and drama and will keep you guessing. I can't wait for Book #5!

I received a free copy of this book. The opinions are my own.

Lantern Beach #4

How much longer will Cady/Cassidy need to hide from the threat of the DH-7 against her life? Evidence points to the gang's tightening rope towards her hideout location on Lantern Beach. Too bad she cannot tell her new-found friends of that threat or her actual identity. Further complicating matters is her budding and promising relationship with ex-SEAL neighbor, Ty. Oh, she wants to disclose the truth to him, but at what cost to them both?
Yet again, Christy Barritt astonishes readers with an action-packed mystery combined with relatable and lovable characters with realistic flaws and depth.

I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.

The entire Lantern Beach series has been very good, non stop action and drama, but Dangerous Waters is by far the most intense of them all. Everything has been building in the previous books to what happens in this one. Someone from Cassidy's past has found her. What are her options and how will she handle the situation? This is a definite must read, but you have to start at book 1, Hidden Currents and work your way up. You don't want to miss any of the backstory! What are you waiting for.....READ, READ, READ! You will not be disappointed!

The latest Lantern Beach installment is the most intense yet! This time, Cassidy Livingston (who is waiting to testify against a major drug gang)has just begun to let her guard down. She has started dating her next-door neighbor Ty, who is an ex-Navy SEAL and life is feeling good. Then her past rears its ugly head in a possible sighting of an old enemy in the sleepy town. Does she run and start again? Or does she stand and fight? And if she fights, will she endanger those she has begun to care about - including Ty? If you like suspense, this book delivers. Filled with wonderful characters, scenery, and a story that won't let you put this book down, Christy Barritt delivers another riveting suspense story that keeps you guessing until the very end. I received an advance copy of this in exchange for my honest opinion.

Fantastic!

Seattle Police Department detective Cady Matthews has been living in Lantern Beach as Cassidy Livingston for the past 18 weeks, but she hasn't been able to keep hidden as well as she'd like. She's already helped solve three mysteries while waiting for the case against DH-7 to make it to court before a judge, and in DANGEROUS WATERS, the fourth Lantern Beach mystery, the face of a man from her time undercover with DH-7 shatters any calm she may have had, forcing Cassidy to make a choice of whether she should stay or run.

Author Christy Barritt succeeds in filling in the backstory of Cady's time undercover with DH-7 and moving forward with Cassidy's new, if temporary, life in Lantern Beach and in making both a compelling, page-turning read that is difficult to put down. Late May can't come quickly enough for the fifth book. Highly recommended!

Has someone from Cassidy's past showed up in Lantern Beach? If so, does she run or does she enlist the help of her new friends? You'll have to read the newest installment in the Lantern Beach series to find out. I could sum up this book in just a few words, a heart-pounding must read!! Give it a try! You won't be disappointed! I can't wait to read Book 5 to see what happens next!

This one was more tense than the other three

I love Christy's writing style. It is clean, inspiring, suspenseful, and always a twist. Some good clean romance thrown in to boot! I can hardly wait for the next book just to see if Cady can find out who is behind the gang. This is a fun series. Deserves a five for sure.

Fun and easy read

I enjoy Christy Barritt's books, and I've especially enjoyed the characters in the Lantern Beach series. It's like watching a TV series but in a book. The developing and flirtatious romance between Ty and Cassidy is fun too. Like most TV shows however, most of the characters are one- dimensional and the episodes end quickly and neatly with another score for the good guy. That being said, I'll be ready for the next episode come May.
