Ava has everything that she could ever want; great supportive parents, an amazing boyfriend, and a job that’s actually not so bad. She lives in a small town where even though the world around them has been plunged into chaos it’s remained relatively untouched. Why the chaos, well because vampires and werewolves, along with every other supernatural creature, have come out of hiding. Most just want to live normal lives with humans, but others don’t. Those creatures that don’t want a peaceful existence are what Ava and the rest of the human population fear. They’ve caused more than their fair share of nightly mayhem. Luckily, the small town where Ava lives hasn’t had any issues, but that’s only because they run those creatures out of town before they ever have a chance to become a problem. Of course, that doesn’t entirely keep them from running into danger, but they can certainly try. Even with precautions accidents happen and cars break down, which is something Ava learns real quickly when her car breaks down in the middle of the night on the side of a secluded road. In an instant, Ava’s life is flipped upside down. All it takes is one vampire bite and a mouthful of blood to seal Ava’s fate. She only has two options. Either she dies, or she transforms. When things don’t exactly go as planned, Ava finds herself all alone. Her parents believe she’s a monster and her boyfriend Jake, well the last look that Jake gave her wasn’t one of love but of disgust. Ava thankfully finds an unlikely friend, a werewolf. He takes her to a town that’s a safe haven for vampires and shapeshifters of all kinds. That’s where she meets Loki, a vampire who instantly connects with her. He takes it upon himself to teach her how to live like a vampire and how to control her urges. Of course being a vampire comes with some new and unexpected lifestyle changes. One thing that she has to get used to is the fact that vampires aren’t monogamous. They create harems to satisfy their needs. Even though she’s hesitant to jump into a new relationship she quickly finds herself in more than just one. Ava finds real love but it also comes in a few different forms. Her heart may get broken in the process of finding her way, but she’ll survive. She’ll survive thanks to those around her and the love that they share.

What a fast paced, intriguing book. Raven K. Asher has created a world where supernaturals, wolves and vampires, have made themselves known to humans. Not all humans are accepting of the fact they exist nor are all supernaturals happy. This being said, even those who would like to live in peace are now in fear of the unknown. Ava has been turned against her will. What happens next is as much a shock as the attack. this storyline had me shifting between crying, chuckling, and flipping pages as quickly as possible to see what was going to happen next. The dynamics created between the characters is fierce, there's no middle ground. What a wonderful first book to what looks like a promising series I can't wait to follow. NOTE: This ends in a cliffhanger, but Raven K. Asher has shown she knows how to best achieve this to get maximum results

What if the world we knew wasn't what we thought? That is what this book starts out as, Ava a small town girl, with a loving family, a loving boyfriend, all living in a nightmare they thought were only in books. Her world is changed one night by fate and a new adventure awaits her. She meets Loki and Tobias, who take her in and show her how her new life as a vampire will be. She falls in love with not one but several men only to lose one in the end. She finds her best friend and is reunited with her as well. Through out the book she is taught how to adapt and how to overcome situations that she really did not want to deal with. I could not put this book down!

I totally enjoyed this book. The story was filled with unique characters and although it was set in the paranormal world, it felt real. The emotions in this book gave truth to the story. Did it seem likely that she was attracted to all of them? Maybe. But I felt the rage, disappointment, disillusionment, anger, love, lust...etc, because the author allowed the reader to feel these through the characters due to her great dialogue. I loved Loki, Nix, Kane, Dominic, Tinsley, and Ava. The author did a great job of allowing the reader to find characters who seemed true to the story...they fit the storyline perfectly. Disappointed at the cliffhanger!

I received a copy of this for a fair and honest review. I read the blurb for this book and assumed that I knew what was going to happen. Boy was I ever wrong. I could not have predicted Loki and his actions. Or the town of Darkwell. That places holds all kind of secrets. I can wait to see what else is going to come of this. Loki did have me a little worried on his and Ava's first meeting. Then with a fresh start for Ava in the new town and way from what twist of fate has brought her here. She friends friendship, love and some personal self-discovery. Grab a copy and read for yourself.

Raven K. Asher

An amazing new paranormal romance from Raven Asher. She was able to create characters and situations that pull you right into their world. Ava and Levi bring you into vampire culture that is so different from Ava's life before she was bitten that you do not know how she adjusts to the change. You get to experience the life of the supernaturals from the inside learning what makes them tick. you will not what to miss it.

I received the book as ARC to review via Booksprout. A main character of the book has to answer the question. How to be a vamp. She has been turned into a vamp against her will. But. Still she discovers love. , friendship and more humanity among vamps and other creatures of night than among humans. Great characters, reality and plot. Good story telling. Highly recommended to all vamps lovers.
