This ending was lackluster and there were too many repetitive parts from the previous book. Like I do not need you to recall pages of a scene, this series is short and memorable so the recaps were not needed.
Wilde and Jhalil have admitted they love each other, but spend most of the book at odds. Wilde was scared of being rejected and not being worthy because of Jhalil being a known figure. I didn't like how Jhalil turned the pages to ask her to fight for them, but he dragged it way too long. Especially when he understood her situation, yet he wanted her to hear him out with the heaux situation 😒. The first book felt like there was going to be a special connection between them, but the book peaked and that connection was not realized. I did appreciate that they finally accepted each other.
Jahili really brought the patience game to a whole new level, and it was about time Jahlil served Wilde a taste of her own medicine—exactly what she needed. These two drove me crazy at times, but somehow, I couldn’t help but love them. Their constant back and forth, despite their deep love for each other, was both infuriating and endearing. Mama Jenkins and Jahlil's mom were the real MVPs, acting as the perfect catalysts to bring these two headstrong characters closer. The start of the epilogue threw me for a loop, leaving me a bit shaken, but thankfully, it didn't go the way I feared. Grey Huffington's books have me hooked; I find myself getting attached to each and every character.
Loooooooorrreddddd!!!!! The damn drama. I absolutely hate how Jahlil handled Wilde after the clinic visit but I get it. He was hurt and scared and broken. Overall though they took me through it. I wasn’t sure how it would end because he was so mad I felt like he was never gone speak to her again. His mama and her granny mighta been their saving graces.
Oooh baby I thought me and Ms. Huffington was gonna have to fight with that damn epilogue but she fooled my ass haha lol. I’m so glad Wilde got her shit together and accepted all the love she deserved.
Jhalil's decision to take Wilde's grandmother's advice proved beneficial. Storyline continued to hold my interest as Wilde finally showed Jhalil her true feelings. I'm hoping there is a continuation to this love story.
My goodness my goodness this one was heavy, layered and emotionally loud in a way that sat in my chest.
This final chapter showed what happens when love hits a breaking point and nobody is gentle anymore. Jhalil had been patient. He had been understanding. He had been chasing, reassuring, proving, waiting. The moment he saw her walk out of that clinic 👀Yeah whatever softness he had left cracked. He wasn’t wrong for feeling how he felt, even if the way it came out was sharp and unforgiving. When it’s abstract, principles are easy. When it’s your child, everything changes.
That confrontation was brutal. Necessary but brutal. He read her to filth and not from a place of cruelty, but exhaustion. He was tired of convincing her she was worthy of love. Tired of her running. Tired of loving her louder than she loved herself. Wilde finally felt what it meant to lose him physically and emotionally. Babygirl was calling, texting and popping up at his house. That distance he created left a void so loud she couldn’t ignore it anymore. She was restless and broken.
What hit hardest was the reversal. Him pulling back forced her to step forward. She had to fight, fight for him, fight for their future, and fight through the grief of a choice she didn’t fully process until it was too late. He told her so many times you're perfect for me. She was fighting demons so she couldn't process his words and love. Restlessness wasn’t just missing him; it was reckoning with herself.
This ending didn’t wrap things in a perfect bow but it felt honest. Love isn’t always gentle. Sometimes it demands growth, accountability and pain before peace. Wilde had to become ready, not just loved. Jhalil loved her enough to stop chasing and let her meet him where he stood.
A powerful, messy, emotionally raw conclusion to a series that never shied away from the hard parts of love.

These two started out this book being “no ordinary love” by Sade. Jahlil was living those lyrics and Wilde was being selfish by taking and not reciprocating and always putting him and them on pause while still taking from him. Always running! Midway he flipped it and put her on ice and I was here for all of it! They ended on a good note “cherish the day” by Sade
I cherish the day I won't go astray I won't be afraid You won't catch me running You're ruling the way that I move You take my air You show me how deep love can be You're ruling the way that I move And I breathe your air You only can rescue me This is my prayer I cherish the day I won't go astray I won't be afraid You won't catch me running I cherish the day I won't go astray I won't be afraid Won't run away You show me how deep love can be You show me how deep love can be This is my prayer
Wilde, when a mother loves her child... Wilde was determined to get her son the medical attention he needed by any means necessary, but in doing so, somewhere along the line she doubted her worth and didn't think she was good enough for a certain kind of man. Jahlil saw who he wanted and was relentless in going after her. He didn't GAF about what anyone thought or had to say. Now if he could just get the one that he has his eyes set on to see things like him, he will achieve what he has set out to do. But if she didn't get her act together, he would have to cut his losses and move on through life without her 4.5*
The last installment on this rollercoaster 🎢 of a relationship.
Wilde irks my nerves😟 . Though, I understand why she acts the way she does🤷🏾♀️. But Jahlil “Mr. Mayor” Hanover is a great character. And Mama Jenkins was one of my favorite characters. Holding people accountable for their actions is important. When he said “fight”. I was snapping my fingers like “yessss”.
I hated those dream sequences though lol. I kept getting confused 🫤. What was real and what wasn’t. I got it in the end tho. I enjoyed. Read it at the kitchen table with a cup of ☕️. Finished the book before my coffee☺️. It was a fun, exasperating, quick read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. I loved this instant chemistry between Khalil and Wild. Khalil knew from their first encounter that he had found his person. Wilde had to overcome her insecurities before admitting that he was the one. I read all three books back to back no stress no waiting just the way I like it. Although I did go to the end of book 3 looking for the introduction to book 4. Glad there was none. I would have liked to see how the couple handled the public reaction to their relationship but that is ok . I read romance to de stress so I’m here for the HEA. Good read . Thank you Ms. Grey. Keep writing them I’ll read them❤️
Listennnnn u all of all people know i needed part 3 for my soul! 😩🙌🏾 im sooo happy u gave us part 3! I love Jahlil. Out of all your books, he is my ultimate BOOK BAE! His love for Wilde was unbelievable! I loved their relationship.
This love story touched my soul. Im a sucker for a good love story & u delivered. Okurrrr 👌🏾
Yassss I loved it!!! Jahlil was man of all man, he wasn't afraid to admit to what and who he wanted. I also loved that fact that he didn't care what she did for a living even though he knew Wilde was doing it to take care of her son. Glad that Wilde finally came to reality and came for Jahlil just like he been coming for her. Great job Grey I really really enjoyed this.
Noooooooo! Please say it is not over! I need more! Wilde certainly had so many doubts about everything in her life, that she just would not allow any good in. Jhalil, was as loving and patient as he could be, until he couldn't! I loved mama Jenkins! Wilde needed that tough love, and those harsh conversations so she could get some act right! I so loved this couple, and hope that we can see them again in the near future. Good read! 👍👍
Well I have mixed emotions about this last book of this series.it was so much more of a roller coaster ride than I had expected. I wanted to shake Jahlil a few times. However as I listen to Wilde and thought about the twists and turns she sent Jahlil through I guess I had to concede to trying to understand his feelings
I really wanted more out of the epilogue but I will say although some things were left to my imagination I wasn’t disappointed ❤️😊
Jhalil and Wilde finally found their forever thanks to Wilde’s grandmother and Jhalil’s mother’s wisdom. I was a bit saddened to see them at odds most of the book, but I appreciated that Jhalil stood on business until Wilde straightened up. Book 3 had a few errors and I would’ve loved to see the interview play out to get the public reaction rather than rehash the premonition but in the end they got there happily forever.
Wilde and Jhalil come to an agreement, give Wilde some time to figure out what she needs, but Jhalil isn't a patient man. When he thinks Wilde has done the unthinkable, he calls it quits. Now, months later, Jhalil finally responds and learns what he thought Wilde did she didn't. When Wilde realized life without Jhalil, she gave him what he wanted. This was a great conclusion to Wilde and Jhalil story. I hope to see more of them!!!
This was a fast read; not only because it was basically a 300 page book cut down into novella sized books. Anyway, this is supposedly the conclusion of Wilde & Jahlil’a story. When I tell you I thought we had got somewhere from the first and second books; this book frustrated me to no end. When I say the person I related to the most was Jahlil…Wilde was just infuriating.
Anyway, I don’t wanna spoil things for you but yeah…it was blah for me.
Y’all she did it! Wilde finally found some act right cuz she was about to get dragged and watch me Jhalil onto someone else so he can double date with Trough and I. No really i enjoyed this series and I’m sad to see it end but it wasn’t typical at all she had to work through some things and he was soo patient even as fed as he was. Thank you Grey!
Grey, you are an amazing writer. I feel so complete and bubbly on the inside. I'm happy for Wilde and Mr. Mayor. I love the message. For instance writing out your plan of your ideal man, and in order to find love you must find it from within. Another one is no matter your past or neglect, we all deserve happiness. Amazing love story!
Pretty good series and I enjoyed the storyline. Stripper and the mayor. How could Wilde and Jhalil overcome their differences and be together. A bit of the book was confusing with his dreams, because initially it wasn't clear it was a dream.
I enjoy this author's work and would read her again in the future.
This story was awesome. I must say the names and storylines the author comes up with are one of a kind. I’ve seen great improvement in her books. Initially I was turned off by the wordiness and thought her earlier works lacked cohesion. I must say this three part series along with her newer works have been fabulous. Love how the books are getting better and better!
