A perfect book for everyone. A must-have for schools and libraries and a great gift book to any child having a rough time. Recommended as a companion to these other great books on emotions:

What a wonderful book on feelings. Everyone is sad sometimes, everyone cries sometimes, and everyone is happy sometimes. I love that it normalizes feelings, and that it is ok for EVERYONE to cry - even little boys, like the one in the lovely illustrations.

This book talks about what different emotions a person might feel throughout the day. Some of the emotions include happy, sad, batty, and fed up. The book is encouraging everyone to share their feelings because it is ok to share your feelings. Everyone shares them.

I give this book two stars because I think it would be boring to any grade level. If I were to read this it would definitely be with kindergarten. There are not a lot of words and the story is very plain. The pictures do not have many details and the sentences are short and choppy.

If I were to teach this book to kindergarten, I would do it at the beginning of school. I would have an "how to share your emotions" lesson and read this book. For some kindergartners, they have never been in school before and might not know how to appropriately share their emotions. I think having a lesson about that would be a great thing.

In Neal's author-illustrator debut, he delights as he reminds us that everyone has all of the emotions--happiness, sadness, frustration, and anger. Through his simplistic illustrations, grounded in blue hues, we are able to focus on the fact that emotions are normal and are what all people experience. The little boy in the story goes through his emotions, realizing that sometimes you may be frustrated and feel as though no one is listening, or it’s okay that when you are sad you need to cry and be alone, or even that when you laugh you spread your cheer. Neal reminds us over and over again that we all share our emotions, and that leaves everyone feeling supported and comforted.

Hello, friends! Our book today is Everyone by Christopher Silas Neal, a fantastic book about feelings and why it’s okay to have them.

Everyone gets happy. Everyone gets sad, too. And everyone will cry, on occasion. Everyone has felt frustrated, anxious, or scared, or even like singing! So no matter how you feel or how you choose to express it, everyone has felt just like you do at some point. So really, the only thing you ought not to feel is alone, because everyone is here with you.

Loved this book! Proof that simple concepts can be absolutely beautiful when done well. It’s a fabulous book about feelings, how we all share them, and how it’s perfectly okay to express them. What made it special was the art, which used a simple color palette to show that emotions are universal, and tie you to the world around you, and that expressing them is healthy and normal (the visual of a little boy’s tears becoming bluebirds that fly away into an open sky, for instance, is an especially lovely one). The length is made for the youngest readers, and JJ loved it. This one is perfect for talking with little ones about feelings, and we absolutely recommend it. Baby Bookworm approved!

This is a heartfelt book that speaks about all the different emotions a child can feel, and that it is okay to show how you feel in a healthy way. I appreciated how this book provided the possibility of broaching the subject of emotions between a younger child and a family member. When children are younger, they many not understand all of the different emotions they are feeling, so I believe that this book would be a great tool in helping them understand what is going on and what they are feeling.

Title: Everyone...
Author: Christopher Silas Neal
Published: 2016
Age Appropriateness: Pre-K-5th
Summary: This book outlines the feelings that everyone experiences, and that they are REAL!
Review: I really liked this book, and I thought that it framed having emotions in a good light. I often feel as though it is not good to be emotional, and that it is frowned upon. But this book is a good reminder that those feelings are real, and should be validated!

Validating a wide range of emotions "Everone" through color of blue. The blue color code will be good match with the book, Red by Jan De Kinder.

My daughter seemed to enjoy this book but I wasn't a fan. The illustrations were good though. Overall got mixed feelings about this book.

I liked the monochromatic-ish color pallet.

It was an interesting book about feelings, but in the middle it got a bit disjunct and I'm wondering if it may be too abstract?

The boy has a long day and needs to cry. When he laughs, everyone laughs. When he sings, everyone listens. And everyone cries now and then, and it's ok.

REALLY simplistic book about feelings. Everyone laughs. Everyone cries. Everyone sings. It's okay to have feelings. It's not bad; I just think there are better books about feelings out there, even for younger kids like this is geared for.
