Under the shadow of Glastenbury Mountain and the cover of night, the bad boy wolf shifters of PH Security get their real work done – keeping Pine Hollow safe and blissfully ignorant of the supernatural threats to their town.
Part One After getting mugged out jogging, Avery Meredith is more baffled than frightened. None of it adds up. Why would anyone be after her? Even more mystifying, she was rescued by none other than Rowan Winter. The strapping, beautiful and brooding man who usually pretends she doesn’t exist. But PHS insists on assigning Rowan to watch over her on their dime. It should be a cinch for former juvenile delinquent, ex-Marine and over six feet of tatted steel. But Rowan has tried to stay far, far away from Avery ever since she moved to town. Now, he has to live with her, the curvy armful who sometimes shows up in his dreams.
Part Two If there is one thing Nolan Locke and Tori Mederos are good at, it’s avoiding each other. What they can’t avoid are the questions. Ten years of them. The town of Pine Hollow has to know what broke apart these two former best friends. Yet neither of them will even acknowledge it. But when Tori is thrust into paranormal, Pine Hollow patented danger, and Nolan is assigned as her security shifter – the two will be forced to face the past in order to save their future. The mountain is restless, shifters are missing, and the spooks are spooked.
Part Three It was bad enough for Jayce Tursi, stud shifter of Pine Hollow security, that he got lost in the Parallel for weeks. But now that he’s back on his feet, he’s stuck training rookies? Good thing Jayce knows how to pin a smile on his face and fool the world. It’s not fooling Melita Mederos, though. The PHS rookie has a thing for popular Jayce, who doesn’t even know her name. Melita is determined to change that until everything goes wrong.
Part Four Em Tajima has always preferred a ghost story to a love story. Until she moves to Pine Hollow, Vermont and finds more than she bargained for. Ghost towns, shadow figures out of the corner of her eye, and a connection to a hidden past. Plus, the secretive and stubborn shifter who decides to keep an eye on her for her own good. Now Em can’t shake her Pine Hollow Security (self-appointed) bodyguard. Or the sense that he might be right. Even though he’s supposed to being laying low, Wyatt can’t figure out whether the new girl is in trouble or is trouble. Either way, he’ll find out. No matter what rules he has to break.
Part Five If Lee Stone had been honest with himself, none of this would have happened. Also, if Bryn Santos had been a professional, poised and sophisticated social worker, instead of being a hot and smitten mess, none of this would have happened. She wouldn’t have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. She wouldn’t have become the pivotal witness in a small-town murder mystery. And she wouldn’t have ended up under Lee’s protection. Lee, her client, and the serious, stern, and sexy-as-hell bodyguard.
Just finished Book One. I rated it 2-stars because it was sorta so-so and there was barely any shifting going on. It just felt like shifting was used in the background so the author had it to fall back on to excuse any “out there” happenings. This did not even come close to satisfying my shifter book craving. I doubt I’ll continue reading the other books.
I have decided not to continue reading this series because the first book was just ok and didn't really make me want to know what happens with the other characters. In the future, I might change my mind and try to read the others but at the moment I have no plans to continue reading something that is just ok, especially when my TBR list is so long.
So this rating is just for the first book, Avery and Rowan's, since that was the only one I read.
Book 1 Avery and Rowan: 2 stars Book 2: Book 3: Book 4:
I have it a 5 but would have given it a 10 if I could have. The way the mates find each other is interesting.Although the male characters were a bit hard headed at first, you could really feel the connection right along with them.Sorry to come to the end.Kudos Clara Kendrick.
I only read the first story which unfortunately wasn’t for me. Avery is fairly new in town and teaches yoga, Rowan is some sort of security guy I never quite got what he was. Avery is attacked and Rowan is assigned to guard her which requires him staying at her house, he’s really against this as he’s attracted to Avery but he’s no good for her. But whatever is after her he’s determined to protect her no matter what.
I’m sorry to say that I only read the first story about Avery and Rowan. After that I just didn’t want to read the other stories. This is a romance but it’s so slow, in fact the whole thing was dragged out. Then there’s the reason why Rowan isn’t going there with Avery which was ridiculous why authors come up with these nonsense reasons is beyond me. There’s a lot of creepy stuff going on in and around town but the way it’s written I found it difficult to get. This is a shifter story, but not so you’d notice. I downloaded this with my Kindle Unlimited subscription so it was easy to return as it’s not a keeper.
This series of five individual stories involving sexy wolf shifter security personnel and their equally intriguing mates finding each other through adversity and some seriously spooky circumstances had me staying up way past my bedtime to see how each situation would be resolved. Well written and exciting, I loved each and every story. There were a few editing errors, but the stories were so well plotted that I was able to supply the correction with no real disruptions. Kudos!
What a great series and I was so happy to get to read it all together like this! Loved the close family connections and how the mates all fit in, all under the shadow of the mountain. Wonderful group of tales, fantastic epilogue at the end! Lee and Bryn were wonderful parents and I loved peeking ahead to see where they would end up! First time reading this author, but I will be watching for more! A few racy parts, but they fit in with the story. Great read!
I'm not sure how I happened to find this series...but Sooo glad I did. Magical forests, magical creatures, and wolf shifters. It was like being on a great adventure. The dialogue was overwhelming and lengthy at times. But don't dare try to skip read. You'll miss something important. Hope the author keeps writing in this realm of not just magic but also creatures and mayhem.
Though it was a little slow at the very beginning, as I read, the story began to unfold. With the building of each character, it turned out to b a very good series. I wish the ending could hv been a little more exciting. It was a bit anticlimactic. I would recommend this series.
This is my first read by this author, and not bad. The women were a little desperate; didn't seem to know when their mates weren't ready for them, which was the theme for this series. Along with everyone had a hidden talent or purpose, which is what I enjoyed most about this series. Thus, I'm starting on my second box set by Clara.
I enjoyed the story line there was not so much focus on were shifting as in other books I've read. It focus more on relationships which I enjoyed. The intimate love making left a lot to the imagination. Some novels get too explicit I really enjoyed reading it. I only gave it a four star rating because the other characters in the story were not developed enough . At the end it became a little confusing, Too many persons to keep track off. I know the novels will continue based on the characters I like enough to continue reading the series,
I read the first two books, which were OK... However, after 38% (750+ pages) this just feels like a slog and I have no desire to read the rest of the books. Like others have mentioned, the shifting is not the primary story. The paranormal element is much stronger. Lots of magic and other "oddness" to contend with (which is fine!), but the action was just too slow for me.
I loved this book it isn't an ordinary wolf shifter book but with lots of paranormal in it. It isn't like any other books that I have read and it's a good series keeps you guessing and interested. I thought the best couple in the book is Wyatt and Emiko I loved there chemistry together but all of the characters are brilliant I even loved Gus.
These characters and their environment was totally new to me, it was fun, exciting, thrilling, and totally a new environment. I thoroughly enjoyed each character and loved their good qualities and even those that were off. Thanks for a great read and just a great suggestion, a bundle of the new generation!!!💕💕🌹😻
Can be a little monotonous with the sexual tension then bursts into action. The underlying story line is actually good and has historical background. Loved the characters. Loved reading from both perspectives. Male and female. The books got better as time went on.
I loved this series, fabulous imagination and story telling, wonderful characters. Intrigue, murder, chaos, strange creatures, loveable shifters, mayhem and family. The only reason I didn't rate it a 5, is due to the editing or lack of; wrong tense, verbiage, miss spelling, etc. Made it hard to decider. But wow what an awesome set of books.
Really enjoyed reading about these wolf shifters. There was a lot of sexy men Rowan Winter was my favourite. The stories were all about these men and guarding there future mates. Not read many books of this nature but that will no change after this.
Pros: Good characters that I really got involved and invested in, A pretty unique and interesting story and world set up Cons Too much inner dialogue Some inconsistencies that were minor
Overall I would recommend it and read another book from her.
All five stories woven together in one bundle. What a wonderful with my favorite...a final epilogue wrapping it all up in a bow of the future. Thank you, found a new fun author to read.
Good stories, plenty of magic and excitement, characters well developed and interesting and complexed. Nature conservation built into story. Story flows from one book to next.
There is action and love and caring for one another as well as the forest and mountain. Various stories woven together into a wonderful read with a great end.
It seems to be a bit of a miss with me and clara Kendrick books, I love this one. There's another shiftersecurity box set out there by her, but I wasn't a fan of that pne, this o e i adore!!
This was FIVE full length books in one tome- all very exciting - I took my time reading each story so I could give each character full attention - highly recommended - this is the second series Ive enjoyed by this author! You really get your money's worth!
I absolutely loved this series and only regret that there isn't more of it. Each book was unique in it's own right. I would recommend this series to all shifted lovers!
This author pulls you in and you are lost in the story and before you know it you are unable to think of anything else but getting back to the book and becoming emerged into the world of Pine Hollow.
I enjoy paranormal stories and this didn't disappoint . I bought the five book series and couldn't stop reading , I loved the wolves points of view and their strong ladies battling against the demons to preserve their world.
I couldn't stop reading this amazing story of friends, family and adventure. I would recommend this series to anyone who is into paranormal adventures mixed with a 💘 story.
Great stories, love the characters! Couldn't put it down, so very well written!!! Ms. Kendrick makes everyone so unbelievably believable. Can't wait to read more of her books.
It was a page turner. There was so much happening that I frequently couldn't put the book down. One story moved seamlessly into the next. I'm glad I got all of the books together so I didn't have to wait to the next one.
