This story didn't totally come together for me.
I had a very difficult time believing that an AM and BW combo would incur such hate ... in New York!
I can't say that I felt the burning hot love between the two characters, something was missing for me. This couple never had a discussion of exclusivity and they end up dating by default. Simon had this reputation of having a lot of women on booty call standby so what made Regina different? Other than being the sister of his best friend. Why hadn't he met her before?
Don't have sex with my sister until we have a man to man? Really ... who does that and who listens?! The heroine's brother worked my nerves though he was spot on about his concerns over problems with his best friend dating his sister. If it went wrong and he had to choose a side, we'd know who'd lose.
I thought the attempted assault was way too much for this book and it didn't fit the tone of the book. Plus, we're supposed to believe that Marcus and Quinn only thought about harming the attacker.
The jury trial. The plea deal. The outcome. It's just no way this would have happened to a person of her stature. Overall, I liked the book and Simon's assistant. I'd love to see a story featuring Elliott and Bree.

I got to read My Way to You as an ARC, and I read it everywhere. The dentist office, the park, before bed, when I should have been doing other things... It's a great read with strong, smart, sexy characters. I loved the honesty, the passion, and the fact that I wanted to read the stuff between the love scenes, too! I felt like I was right there in the middle of it all, which was amazing as a reader, but I did have to work extra hard to keep the blush down when I was in public. Yeah, it was hot. I look forward to more Lyndell Williams books in the future!

This book was amazing! Simon was so cool and dreamy. Regina was smart and confident. She did a good job in showing how much they loved each other. I like Marcus. I can't wait for the next book!

I'll start off with this is a new author to full length novels. Ms. Williams has written a couple short stories in Anthologies.
Regina is a blogger who focuses on issues that impacts the Black community. Simon is a lawyer who happens to be her brother's best friend from college. Sparks fly when Regina and Simon are asked by her brother Marcus to work on a community grant.
The Writer does a great job showing how Regina and Simon relationship develops from a one night stand to a long term relationship. You can see this young (I have no clue what their ages are) maybe early thirty couple navigate a relationship as professionals in New York against the back drop of social media and microaggressions at work.
I only have a couple issues with the book. The narrative voice is confusing in the beginning, the author goes from the characters pov to a narrator pov. It's quite confusing and the use of the word "lover" it started to come off as a harlequin romance. Then the character of Regina was all over the place. She went from one character extreme to another. For example she would take an extreme action and then a couple paragraphs later realize she was over reacting to the situation. This went on for most of the book and it was irritating. Finally, there was alot of plot holes and non development of storylines that are introduced. I honestly didn't think Samantha and the Jeremy situation added to the story. If the writer would have focused on the actual couple and the dynamics of combining Korean and African American culture it would have been more interesting to me. Also, on a side note Regina doesn't even want to try his cultural food or learn about him.
Overall I give this book 3.5 stars

Love the story!💋
I seriously didn't like Samantha. She made it seemed she done no wrong in Simon life. Like her misdeeds shouldn't matter and her and Simon should start over. NOT! Love Marcus the overprotective big brother who don't play when it comes to his baby sister Regina. Simon and Regina was good at hiding their relationship for a while then Jeremy had to put his stalkerish two cents in it. The man was deranged. He wanted something he just couldn't have which was Regina. Simon went after Regina full force and they together wouldn't let society tear down what they built. Wonderful!

When I was young my mother would check all of my library books and would make sure I had nothing including romance in my piles.
But you know how children are, the more you forbid them something, the more they want it. So of course I found ways to sneak what I wanted. Needless to say, children don't know boundaries when they sneak. All I read were books (with no real plot) about white couples (with no real problems to overcome) which turned into an annoyance with romance because I was tired of reading about the same stuff. I wanted substance and variety. Where were the Black people, the Native Americans, the Asians, or literally anyone else?? I eventually found my way out of my romance reading slump and my reading knowledge evolved but I still like to make sure I read a healthy variety of romance.
This book right here, My Way To You , is one of the healthiest of healthy varieties. I have to say that it was a breath of fresh air that I enjoyed immensely. Reading about an Asian man and a Black woman? YES PLEASE!
As a black woman, I'm a huge lover of black couples! However, I also love seeing interracial couples who can come together and effectively overcome cultural differences, so thisss was up my alley.
I absolutely loved reading this! It was just the right amount of sensual, sexy, and real. I definitely had moments when I squealed at how cute Simon and Regina were or growled at how annoying someone was being, simply because I was so into them. I just thoroughly enjoyed it!
One of the most important things that stood out to me was the fact that Simon was pretty real from the get go. Even though Regina and Simon don't have the typical case of insta-love, they do fall in love pretty early in the relationship. The haze of extreme lust isn't there in a way that feels sleazy. Instead, even through the steamy parts (and yessss child those parts are steamy!), it's all pretty realistic, sweet, and romantic.
Simon is a pure gentleman and not just because he knows Regina is his best friend's younger sister. He seems to genuinely appreciate every aspect of the womenfolk in his life. His genuinely caring and compassionate actions makes it hard to see him as the playboy that Marcus keeps trying to sell him as. Like who wouldn't swoon over a guy who got HIS OWN assistant coffee in the morning, without being asked may I add????
Because Regina is described to be a well-known pro-black blogger, I wasn't sure how different racial aspects were going to be covered. I have to say that I was pleased. The author did an amazing job at addressing the race and culture conflict but there was nice balance where race was not the only conflict.
I soo soo appreciate that this wasn't a "I don't see color" story. The couple embraced the differences that came with their interracial relationship from eating other's food to not saying stereotypical things like "my Asian persuasion" or "my sexy piece of dark chocolate". You know, the ugly stereotypical phrases people use when they're fetishizing another race?
At one point in the story something upsets Regina and she speaks to Simon over the phone, training her voice so that he doesn't catch her distress. He comes home and I can honestly say this interaction between them has to be one of my favorite parts of this story.
Maybe it's because I'm just a sappy romantic but the fact that he pays enough attention that he can tell her mood by her voice, over the phone is beautiful. This is real life stuff for couples but I love reading it so much because authors rarely effectively exhibit such unstated love in their male character's actions.
I can't say much more without telling y'all all of the juicy details but just know that this is definitely an enjoyable, romantic read!

“My Way to You” is a beautiful and thoughtful read. Regina and Simon are three-dimensional, nuanced characters I fell in love with immediately. It is not your standard romance. While there definitely is love and passions throughout this book (it is hot!), there is so much more than the romance between the two protagonists. We learn about their family/social dynamics and histories in this book. And it leaves us wanting more. I can’t wait to read more from this author!

Well, this was a story and a half. If you're expecting your bog standard, basic romance, then that isn't what you are going to get, but even so, I don't think that you'll be disappointed in this one. In many ways, the events of this book could have filled a whole series. That's not to say that the book is either overly long, or rushed, it isn't, but there's an awful lot going on.
There isn't just romance to deal with here, but race, prejudice and what happens when love runs into that. Simon and Regina have a lot to deal with, much more than many other couples have. Some of it was a surprise. I know that things are different in the US, not to say that there isn't racism in the UK or here in New Zealand, but it certainly seems that 'inter-racial' relationships are much more of a big deal in America. In fact, I will admit that of the people I know who are in one (and now I think of it, there are quite a few) I'd never really considered them to be in something different. I don't know, but I don't think that many people are that bothered about it, certainly, nothing like Simon and Regina have to deal with, it's sad that that should be the case in 2018.
I liked both Simon and Regina, although I wanted to shake them both at various points. As is often the case in romance novels, things would be much easier if they would talk more. Sometimes that would mean that there was no story left, but in this case, there would be still plenty of drama. The only thing that stopped this from being a five-star book was that very occasionally the dialogue just didn't quite seem to flow naturally. I'm possibly being a bit picky here, but that means that there's room for the next book from this author. I'll certainly be making sure that I read it.

This is an amazingly well-written book, full of emotional intensity and steamy sensual scenes that will make a loved-one glad you read it. I loved Regina, she is a confident black woman and shows what a real successful black woman looks like. She’s not that stereotypical black female character that must be bitchy because she is successful. The author gave her depth.
I loved Simon and how he doesn’t hesitate to show his love for Regina, taking long train rides, rearranging his life and cutting trips short to be with her. I think many women would love to have a Simon in their lives, someone who lets it be known how much he cares for them and doesn't let toxic masculinity keep him for showing a soft, affectionate side to the woman he loves.
The way the author integrated social issues like racism and interracial dating was excellent. She really showed how life can affect a couple. She did it without being over the top or downplaying it as if these things weren’t something constantly affecting people faced with it. She also did an incredible job with code-switching, using different language when the characters were talking to each other and when they were at their offices or in meetings.
I fell in love with all of the characters and I had been on the edge of my seating waiting for book 2.

Wow! The sheer arrogance of trolls, haters and other assorted racists who have the audacity to think they have the right to tell Pro-Black Blogger, Regina who she can love.
Regina is a beautiful, intelligent black woman, who falls in love with Simon Young, an Asian-American lawyer.
The opposition they receive from certain family members as well as strangers, who should mind their own business, is mind blowing!
What an eye-opening story!

Good Story
Simon was good friends with Marcus. Marcus had a younger sister named Regina(Gina) who just happened to fall in love with Simon. Gina didn’t want her brother to know about the relationship as well as members of her blog. You’ll have to read the book to find out what happens.

Great story

In My Way To You, Simon Young, a confident, intelligent lawyer, is determined to keep things casual when it comes dating. But when he meets Regina, the sister of his best friend Marcus, he is amazed by the pull he feels toward her. Can he keep things casual this time around, or will he fall for her the way he’s never fallen for any woman before?
Regina is usually quite cautious when it comes to the dating game, but Simon is so charming and attractive that she simply can’t resist. Still, she’s worried about what her brother Marcus might think about her dating his best friend, especially when he finds out they were dating behind his back…
I loved how the relationship between the two characters, despite their instant attraction, still moved rather slowly from that point. Both of them were reluctant to get in an actual relationship, and they each had their own reasons, which made a lot of sense for me. The cultural clash between Regina and Simon’s cultures was also very interesting and added additional challenges for their relationship.
Since I don’t want to spoil the story itself, I’ll just say that a lot of things happen throughout the book, and there’s never a dull moment. Just when you think things will calm down for Simon and Regina, something else happens that puts their relationship at risk. The fast pacing kept the story really entertaining, and I couldn’t put it down.

Beautiful AMBW Drama
Dear Lyndell Williams Author,
You wrote your ass off in "My Way To You".
I was dying to find out what happens next. Last night I had to force myself to put it down so I could go to bed. I found myself flipping to the next page and the next, swearing that this was the last one (just one more page... just one more...). For example, I know something is wrong with Jeremy but the stuff hit the fan hard! Girl, I'm on pins and needles. I love, love, love how you represented multiple sides of the interracial romance dilemma:
- the judgement that black women receive for dating outside their race
-the judgement that Asian men receive for dating outside their race
-His parent's views, biases, and thought process.
-And also views from her side of the aisle
-And you even included the flack that AMBW couples get on the street.
The conversations are deep and detailed. And the couple actions and reactions are real and heartfelt. I am rooting for Simon and Regina so hard! Now back to my reading pleasure... I just had to stop and hug you hard for this amazing story with all its twists and turns.

3.0⭐️ Although the book was OK overall, for some unknown reason it failed to be as captivating as I initially thought. I could not seem to become invested in the main characters, Simon and Regina. Yes, I felt the sexual tension and passion they had for each other; however, the emotional component was missing for me. Additionally, there is no backstory concerning Regina, and parts of Simon’s backstory comes late in the book. Further, the bones of the story itself lacked sufficient substance and was not well-rounded.
All told, this book is not engrossing, and unfortunately, the main characters are not particularly memorable. I think with a little less sexual energy, more story enhancement and a greater emotional connection between the couple, would definitely elevate the book.

It was really good. The romance was amazing. The chemistry between was really great. Nothing seem rushed in their relationship, and I felt like I was with them on the journey of love the whole time. The writing was great ,and the author transition well between point of views of main characters . It was done so well that it felt natural.

Long story and excellent storytelling
This story flowed smoothly with interesting characters that faced real world scenarios with courage and dignity. I liked Simon right away because he had so much confidence. Regina was intelligent and stubborn and loving.

Achieving!
Finding love is hard enough. When it is interracial love that brings on a new set of problems. The author does a very good job of detailing the depth of love and hate some will explore to achieve both. Waiting for more of the same!

Dang you did great
Oh my this is first book I read by Mrs.Williams and to tell the truth I didn't think I would would enjoy but,I loved Simone and Regina story it has some everything in their journey to find their love .and I will be getting more of her books.

Intriguing
Great concept, I wish there was a little more time to develop Simon and Regina relationship before they slept together. Maybe a little more banter...also a few more detailed descriptions. Overall a fun read.

Interracial relationship
I'm not sure how to rate this novel. I've watched interviews with the author and I think Williams wants her readers to be challenged when considering relationships.
***Trigger warnings for attempted sexual assault, male aggression, and violence.***
What I think was done well in this story, was it has compelling components of how couples navigate social opinions on interracial relationships. There were specific examples of how BW are specifically treated for dating outside of the race. It's an important conversation to have. However, I think the take away is love conquers all, so take that as you will. Simon and Regina/Gina never really talked about how they would support each other, other than ignore the haters. I'm not sure if that's a strategy I would take, especially since it almost always adversely impacted Regina. I think that was an important distinction to make. In this regard, love isn't enough (in my opinion).
As far as the love story itself, Simon needs counseling because there's definitely a lot of toxic masculinity, while his character grows overtime. On the flip side Gina isn't always great at communication. Do I think they seem like a realistic couple? Sure, conversations aren't happening, decisions are made for each other without so much of a consideration other than I think this would be good for my partner. A specific example is when did they decide to be monogamous? I don't know, I think Simon just decided for them. They are redeemable characteristics but the relationship dynamics were very troubling to me.
Marc, another character who displayed hetero normative controlling behavior all over the page, but was written as a protective brother narrative. Thankfully, he had a wife with the emotional intelligence for both of them god bless you Toni. Which leads me to think about the emotional labor that this one character had to do for 4 whole characters (Marc, Regina, Simon, and herself) now that to me sounds like real life. That my friends is so, so, so sad.
For Kindle readers it's important to be aware your novel will open on Chapter 1 so you will miss the trigger warnings. I appreciate when authors take the time to list what's to come. Williams list sexual abuse; however I would be more specific that it is an attempted sexual assault and violence.
Overall, this book was an interesting read and there was a bit of a twist. I just didn't connect with certain aspects of the story line. Would I recommend this book? It depends if you are interested in interracial couples and won't be taken out of the story by some of my concerns above. I'm not in the minority in the romance reader community, focus on the HEA and how they got there and that's it. That's not me, I'm always concerned about what I consider narratives that can be and should be challenged in fiction. I'm one reader, I would recommend reading other reviews.

As expected from the cover, one of the themes of this novel is interracial dating and love. Also, another given from the cover, is that it’s STEAMY! Make sure to have a fan handy! I am amazed at how well Lyndell is able to describe a passionate love and soul attraction.
It’s so obvious that Simon and Regina have something special. Equally as obvious is that they have A LOT of barriers as well. Simon is Korean American and Regina, of Gina, is Black American. Simon also happens to be Marcus’ best friend and Marcus is Gina’s over protective and traditional brother. He is NOT going to be happy about the relationship because he knows Simon’s past too well. Let’s just say that Simon is a bit of a lothario and Marcus wants better for his sister. Another challenge is that Gina is a social justice blogger. Many of her followers will not appreciate or respect her choice to love someone outside of her race. I believe they term they use is “sellout”. Lastly, Simon has some major baggage from his one serious relationship that has left deep scars but Simon hasn’t shared it with Regina.
How can they overcome all of these obstacles to their love? Not to mention, there is many tears and arguments because Regina is a little overly dramatic. She also has a admirer that might be a bit of challenge for Simon.
If you love a steamy romance, you’ll love Simon & Regina’s story. If you are more inclined to family sagas, this also a theme in this novel. Perhaps, you’d like to have insight to the challenges interracial couples face, Lyndell does a good job of creating empathy. Lastly, if you enjoy novels that share the micro aggressions that many Black and Brown people deal with in the U.S, you might want to add My Way Back to You to your list.

"My Way to You" was a wonderfully romantic read featuring an interracial relationship between Simon [Asian American and Regina [Afro American]. The story had you from the beginning with all of its intense and sensual scenes that will keep one turning the pages to see what was coming next for these two. I loved Regina's confidence in the story and Simons because he knew what he wanted. But will these cultures be able to come together in an actual relationship? And what about Regina's brother and Simon's best friend, Marcus? Why was this such a problem for Marcus?
The author did an excellent job with the 'integrated social issues dealing with racism, angst, and interracial dating while still bringing in one particularly horrible person. However, I am still not sure he got all that was coming to him.
So. how will this story end with all of its twists and turns of interracial love between these two successful people? You will have to pick up "My Way to You" to see how well this author brings it all out in this excellent read.

2.75 Stars. KUB # 50. The low rating is not an indication that the author poorly executed the mechanics of writing, it indicates the author's failure to produce a romantic loving interracial couple adjusting to each other's cultural differences and ethnic experiences. Regina Kent is a 30 year-old Black female pro-Black blogger (as the character in Dear White People) like that character, Regina inters into a relationship with a non-Black male, Simon Young, a Korean American lawyer and best friend of Regina's brother. Regina's and Simon's relationship start as a one night stand which Regina immediately regrets but continues to pursue, this wishy washy behavior persists through out the story. Regina is selfish, demanding and inconsistent; on the other hand and despite his mishandling of a couple of situations, Simon is attentive, reliable and consistently trying to win her love affection and persuade her to understand and at a minimum try Korean fair; but she refuses and expresses no desire to embracing any of his culture. Simon is likable Regina is not. Although Regina's job is a perfect gateway into racial discussions, the racial discussions of this story over run the romance.

well, I thought this story was OK. I liked the characters, but I thought the opposition they faced for their relationship from people that didn't really matter (Regina's blog readers, Simon's stalker ex) was over-the-top and annoying. They had some hiccups in their relationship, but nothing that any other couple wouldn't probably experience. I think their cultural differences really weren't that prominent actually, considering Simon is American, just like Regina and happens to be best friends with her big brother. Love scenes were fine, nothing spectacular. This was not the type of book I could not put down, it didn't stir much excitement within me to continue reading, but I hung in there. There was a nice HEA though, so that was nice. Wish there were more AMBW romances out there that really get the juices flowing. I mean, I've read a few. This isn't one of them, unfortunately. 2.75 stars.

Love is love....adversities be Dammed! FIGHT!!
I really enjoyed reading this story. It addresses so many things and while at times I found myself a little peeved at some of the things the characters had to endure because I myself have had to endure them as well, I was able to get through the book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I like the development of the characters and I like the growth each one seemed to take on. While reading this a few things challenged me because I thought that the character, Regina, was far better than I am because I probably would have lost it quite a few times on quite a few people. But that's the thing about this book it makes you feel like you want to burst and explode all over another person but then it reminds you that there's always another way to deal with people with a negative and closed mind. I liked this book for challenging my views of how to deal with said people. Very well written. Kudos to the author!

I'm so disappointed... this could've been so good. First of all, TW for SA. I was so pissed, the plot did not advance as a result of the assault in any way. WTF did I just read? The leads are so stereotypically Asian and Black that I physically cringed at multiple points. Every "plot twist" was predictable, and as someone who had plenty of experience dating interracially in NYC, I can promise you nobody in NYC cares that much about an interracial couple enough to harass them the way the leads were harassed here. Yikes. AMBW romances are like nonexistent so I was excited at the concept but blegh. Too bad, the author is a Muslim woman too, so I really wanted to enjoy it, but this was awful. Seems like she self published or something, because there were lots of errors throughout with basic grammar. YIKES. I don't like to DNF books so here we are, but I should've finished Anna Karenina before wasting time on this one.
