***This series is intended for an 18+ audience ***
Jennifer Malone Wright is best known for her best selling novella series, The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter. Other works include the follow up to The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter series called The Arcadia Falls Chronicles, The Graveyard Guardians series and her full length vampire novel called Savior (A Higher Collective Novel).
She resides in the beautiful mountains of northern Idaho with her husband and five children where she practices preparing for the zombie apocalypse. Just kidding!
But seriously, between the craziness of taking care of her children, Jennifer has little time left for herself. The time she does have left, usually leading far into the night, is spent working on her beloved fiction or chatting with her equally crazy friends.
Urban fantasy romance for if you want to read something just to escape reality. The first book is the least fun, and that is good, because progress. There are some typo's but I decided I don't care and will read the rest of the series. It is fun to read and no brains necessary, just what I need right now.
I finished it but it wasn’t a page turner. I wasn’t really into any of the characters, the editing was poor and I was constantly distracted by missing words, misspelled word and punctuation errors. I now see why the price was so discounted.

I really wanted to LOVE this series, as it promises everything I love to find in a great story. But I just couldn’t find my groove here, and felt it was very slow in parts, with info dumps in some areas, while lacking info/details in others. After finishing this boxset, the first four books in the series, I won’t be continuing with the other (3) books. But maybe this is just a ‘me’ thing- so if this sounds like something you might like, you should probably grab yourself a copy and make up your own mind. Full Review still to come- Happy Reading…
Lucy Mae Estmond inherited the family business when her father died - something she had known all her life. The business was actually to be a Keeper and watch over the souls of the recently passed, keeping them safe from the Reapers The soul eating Reapers have been a plague upon the Earth, stealing souls and leaving the Keepers as the only thing that stands between Heaven and Hell. The factions despise each other and have warred for generations. Then Lucy discovers an ancient legend predicting the arrival of the Chosen One, destined to bring forth an end to the Reapers. This was a dramatic supernatural story that had all of the required elements of a battle and love interrupting the plans of one side of the battle. It was an interesting concept that grew on me as I read more of the story. Well written and easy to understand, I'm looking forward to reading what happens next in the series.
#2 - Keeper of the Peace - 4*
This is the second in the Graveyard Guardians series. This one concentrates on Hannah and her first (and forever) love David Foster who broke her heart by leaving to join the police at the other side of the country and make something of himself over 10 years ago.
Hannah kills a Reaper and panics - the problem being the body is found, she is probably easy to link to the murder, and David is the detective investigating the murder. Will true love win, will Hannah be imprisoned for murder and will David find out what she is?
I nice story of love against all the circumstances that conspire to pull them apart. I enjoyed reading it but I did find some of the things happening a little far fetched. I also couldn't work out a few things that didn't make sense so maybe it was rushed. I could definitely see a next book involving Aiden and Liv, and we still need to know what happens to Hannah's job.
#3 - Reaper under Fire - 5*
Olivia Estmond has made a decision - she has had enough of waiting for the Keepers to attack her family, so she now wants to go on the offensive and attack them instead. This is especially important after the Keepers are told by their Empress to kill her entire family. Aiden was a high-ranking soldier in the Keeper army but has now changed sides to be with Jack his best friend. He has also developed an attraction to Olivia that just cannot be denied.
Wow - so many twists and turns in this dramatic story. It went from a fairly quiet period where Aiden was just a double agent to all-out war. Then as a backdrop was the developing relationship between Aiden and Liv which was definitely a will they/won't they situation. It was well written and very enjoyable. Now I just NEED to know how everything develops and what happens next.
#0 - Summer Hollow - 4*
Kat Davenport lives with her family in the Bay Area and guards souls by night, but during the day she goes to school. With the training she has received, she is good at what she does, so when she is reassigned to guard the graveyard in Summer Hollow, she is not impressed. Gregory Esmond has taken over the graveyard in Summer Hollow following the death of his parents, so it is not easy to share the graveyard with this new arrival. Kat to him is loud-mouthed, inappropriate at times and completely fearless - almost a complete opposite from himself. Can they sort things out in order to work together? After all, their lives depend on it.
I really liked this prequel to the series which was a nice introduction and explained a few things. I loved Kat and Gregory and their relationship which was very sweet. I did, however, not enjoy the switch to many years later in the later stages of the book. I found that a little strange. Well written, it was easy to read and understand.
I would recommend the Novella to everyone. It was well written and explores life situations very well. It also leaves you wishing for a series of the children. Books 1-3 are very well written exploring adult life situations. the only reason I would be uncomfortable with recommending this to my 14 year old daughter would be the graphic violence, even though there is one moment that is pure slapstick. The adult content goes beyond my comfort zone for my daughter. It was very enjoyable for me too read but I am an adult. That content is well written and enjoyable to read but would be rated R. As an adult the entire series left me egging for continuation of the story. Great adult characters and relationships. Think Romeo and Juliet with very happy results, with lives that you will demand that Jennifer continues writing about. I ended up missing a lot of sleep and pray that I will miss more when new volumes come out!!! Watch out you cold blooded bitch for Raymond Power.
I like so many things about this set of novels. I get there is a little adult content but there wasn’t too over the top on erotica, I usually skip that crap anyway. However, The main Romeo and Juliet storyline continues on and it was lovely to have a supernatural bent to it. The unrepentant characters suddenly have the feels and become good guys. But it really surpasses the tropes. It’s a bit of fun, a bit of romance, a ghost or two, but the final prequel was so sweet ... I really just wanted to root for the family all over again.
The writing is very juvenile. There are tons of grammar and spelling errors throughout the whole book, almost like she skipped the proof-read portion of the publishing. It took me so long to actually read the first book. And the fact that she switches prospectives in the second book without actually resolving Jack and Lucy’s narrative first. It seems that she thinks because they had sex their story is finished. The reason for my two stars is because I really did enjoy the story line. It appealed to me but because of all of the other problems with the book I do not think I will be continuing any further.
It’s a bit hard to fully immerse yourself in the story when you keep having the jarring experience of multiple grammatical errors (your instead of you’re, misplaced/ missing apostrophes, etc.). Not a bad story, but I feel like the author could have developed the characters a bit more and also explained the power behind the keepers. We get an in-depth explanation of what the reapers do, but only cursory examination of the keepers’ powers - their superior fighting abilities and ability to see souls.

Needs to be proofread BADLY. Spelling and punctuation errors throughout that make it jarring to read. But beyond that it’s just drek. The plot of Twilight only with porn and cursing and a male MC that’s a complete misogynistic jerk that will screw anything that moves. I like a good paranormal romance as much as the next middle-aged bored housewife, but this ain’t it.
I felt that if the characters and storyline could have been better developed it would have been a bigger hit. It was hugely discounted when I downloaded it so I thought I’d give the books a try. The editing was terrible and at times I had to actually stop reading because it ruined the story for me. I hope the other books get better since I feel invested to the Estmond family and now want to read the other four just to see how things end.
Started off with protecters, but of what??? A sexy guy in a coffee shop with an equally sexy mate. A look and bam. Two families, sworn enemy can history be changed, without anymore deaths? Who needs a murder on their conscious Anyhow who is going to be sucking the life out of who?
It would have been nice if Amazon had the Prequel Novella to be read first since it was the start of the story. The story started slow but I just could not stop reading. It kept pulling you in for more. Now it is time to get home 4,5, and 6 so certainly book 6 was just released.
This was a new view into the world of the spirits. Those who are the guardians that are keeping watch for their safety as they come to doing that last thing of unfinished business.
I had no idea what I was getting into when I started this series. However I’ve loved it. Looking forward to book 4 and onward a really engrossing store and characters!
This was a 3 book series I enjoyed the first book and the second book but not the third book as the story Went to maybe where it should have started. I enjoyed the characters and the story line of the caricatures.
I have never read books like this before. It was interesting but you never really find the end of the story. You have to keep reading. I was hooked. Now I have to find book 4. Totally enjoy them.
I absolutely loved this box set from state to finish. Jack and Lucy were so funny, wonderful, and romantic together. All of the Eastman clan were great. I couldn't put the book down. I'm reading it on my tablet and I carry it everywhere with me.
I honestly really love the story line! The relationships seem obvious and pointed which is fine, but the true reason for the rating is that it feels poorly edited. There are consistent errors with “your vs you’re” and punctuation. It was a struggle for me to get through.
I love it when an author creates something new and different, so it’s really fun to have this book take such a new direction in the genre. Clever and entertaining.
I absolutely loved this story, the characters and their development. It's about the eternal war between Reapers and Keepers and the hope to finally end it. If not for the many grammar errors I would have given this series five stars.
I enjoyed reading this box set, its great when you can read three stories at once. The characters in this series are great and I beloved the storylines. I can't wait to read more. I received this box set as a Free copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
A new twist on those who eat souls vs those who protect them. Even a bit of a Romeo & Juliet flavor without any bitter tragedy. A fun, wonderful read.o
Attraction between sworn enemies, as star crossed lovers. Kept me captivated. I loved the first book, however the second book was from another characters point of view that was barely elaborated on in the first. I wanted to know more about the lead characters in the previous book.
Interesting story, but I never thought I would be hoping for the sex to finish as it dragged through every breath. Most of it did nothing to imp rove or impact on the story line
I just could not get into this. I didn’t care about the characters and I disliked the main male character. Cliqued. Not enough time to spend on something that doesn’t interest me.
I loved these books. The characters were all really interesting and varied people. There is plenty of action and excitement with a healthy dose of romance.
