“My name is Eamonn. I am a traveler, a wanderer. In some places I have been known as The Seeker. I have crossed two seas, and as many continents. My homeland is so far away, that I doubt I could live long enough to return, even if I could find it again.” The officer grunted. “What is it you seek?” Eamonn chuckled. “I have no idea. Something calls me ever onward. I cannot resist that call, and I am unable to not follow it over the horizon. I can only hope that I will know what it is when I find it.”
Together with Robert, an officer of the garrison thrust into a position of leadership in an impossible situation, and Raine, the beautiful Countess trapped in an unhappy marriage, Eamonn finds himself facing a ruthless siege by a savage enemy. The fate of a kingdom is in their hands, and they must hold, or die trying. But amidst all the horror and death, Eamonn finds friendship, love, and perhaps the very thing that he seeks.
J.W. Kent is a Bluegrass musician and avid homebrewer. He also enjoys fishing, black powder firearms, playing his bagpipes and doting on his granddaughter. He makes his home in the Shenandoah Valley with his wife Robin, and can not imagine a life without dogs in it.
Man, was this ever a great little story. Five stars aren't enough, and Kent is one of the most under-appreciated story-tellers I have had the privilege to read. Great characters, fantastic plot, and an edge of your seat pace will make this a story that you will not forget.
