You know what they say: save a snare, bang a drummer.

Kay Fischer is well aware of what they say, and she intends to ignore it completely.

After her first step into the world of music journalism ended with a screw-up so royal it deserved a crown, Kay’s been struggling to re-stack the building blocks of her career. Salvation comes in the form of Sherbrooke Station, the latest alt-rock craze to grace Montreal’s legendary music scene.

A front page feature on the band everyone’s talking about seems like a foolproof shot at success, even after Kay meets their drummer. Matt Pearson might have a smile sexy enough to be the eighth deadly sin and a passion for music so powerful it makes her heart ache, but Kay’s got things under control.

She’s a professional, goddammit, and a professional would not get tongue-tied over a source.

A professional would not find herself opening her door at an hour long past midnight to pull said source inside and lead him to her bed.

No, that’s not at all what a professional would do.

Your Rhythm is part of the Sherbrooke Station Quartet, a series of steamy rock star standalones from author Katia Rose.

TW// alcohol abuse, mentions of a grandma’s death

“…I find him staring at me like every light in the world has gone out and I’m the moon. I couldn’t look away if I tried.”

This wasn’t my favorite Katia Rose book, but it definitely wasn’t my least favorite one either. It had some memorable moments and characters. However, I felt like the story was somewhat mediocre and not as great as Katia’s more recent romance novels.

This story is a romance between a journalist (Kay) and a drummer in a rockband (Matt). It reads sort of like a wattpad fanfiction of a reluctant girl falling in love with a member of a boyband, but it was a lot better written than a wattpad fanfiction.

Kay was my favorite of the two main characters. She was really well written and I found myself relating to her in multiple scenes. We have somewhat of a similair personality in some sense, so I deeply understood her character and why she did what she did in the story. Kay had a really strong sense of right vs. wrong, so I hope she’ll pop up in some of the sequels because I feel like her strong moral compass might help the band work out some future issues (like the whole Atlas problem).

Matt was not as great in my opinion. His personality was charming, but he felt shallow for most of the story. He also kept getting on my nerves with how much he let Ace walk all over him. Matt was too good for Ace and Ace didn’t deserve Matt at all. Ace is the next band member to get a love story in this romance series, so I’m a little worried about how that book will go. Hopefully Katia wrote a good redemption arc for him because it’ll take a lot to get me to like Ace.

There were several moments in this book where I feel like it could’ve dived deeper and made the story more impactful. There’s some family problems, a terrible breakup, and a positive sibling relationship that were only touched on briefly. If there was more than a surface level look at these topics, the story would’ve been a lot better and more complex.

On a more positive note, my favorite scene in this book was the freaking first kiss scene. I was internally screaming when I read it because it was the best first kiss I’ve ever read in a book. The vibes, the setting, the soundtrack, and everything about the scene was pure perfection.

Honestly this book was light and enjoyable, but it’s nothing special. If rockstar romances are your thing, definitely give it a shot. It’s on Kindle Unlimited, too, so it’s a nice one to try if you have KU and you want a quick, spicy romance.

Your Rhythm is the first book in the Sherbrooke Station Series by Katia Rose. I love, love Rockstar romance novels, so I just am a huge fangirl when it comes to Rockers in my romance novels! Katia Rose is also a new to me author.

A little slow in the beginning but it picked up quite fast, and I couldn't put it down! I love it! Katia Rose is a new author for me, and I'm looking forward to reading more from her!

Main character Kay, is a music journalist who happens to be interviewing the newest hyped up band. Mediocre is what she thinks until she meets the drummer and quickly realizes this man isn't about the publicity or sold out shows. This man is strictly about the music and the emotions his music evokes. Matt is the drummer of the band Sherbrooke Station. The ink hasn't even dried on their contracts and Sherbrooke Station is already losing sight of whats important, the music. When Kay is assigned to get the juicy gossip, she has to make a decision of what's important to her. Her career or her new relationship.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book a lot. The pacing of the story was great, as was the setting. It had good secondary characters, sexy scenes, good banter, a heroine that was really smart and genuine, a hero who really wore his heart on his sleeve, loves his bandmates so much. I highly recommend it!

This is the first book in this rockstar romance series that follows a band called Sherbrooke Station. Your Rhythm focuses on the drummer Matt. Matt is probably the most responsible and reliable bandmate. He is loyal to a fault and is always there to clean up the mess that the others make.

Matt is instantly drawn to music journalist Kay when she starts interviewing the band for a story. At first Kay is very reluctant to mix business with pleasure but Matt is quite the charmer and she gives into the attraction. Matt was a great combination of sweet and sexy and I loved that he was very open and honest with his feelings. He made it very clear to Kay that he wanted her and not just in his bed. Kay is the one that really holds back on making their relationship official. There are just enough steamy scenes to get you going but I didn't completely feel the chemistry with this couple. I felt like something was missing and their connection just seemed a bit off.

There is some non romantic drama to this story as it relates to Kay's past which causes a bit of a conflict with her writing the story about the band. It added an interesting bit of angst that kept me fully engaged. However, towards the end when things kind of blow up and Kay's past is revealed, the trigger for the sequence of events didn't make sense to me. Regardless, I enjoyed this aspect of the book for the most part.

I loved the interaction with the band members. These guys were like brothers. Even though this is Matt's book, we see the personalities of the others quite clearly. I absolutely love JP who brings out the comical aspect of the book. Cole is probably the most interesting character to me, he has an air of mystery to him. Ace just seems like a douchebag who is drunk half the time and I can't see how I could ever like his character but I figure he brings the drama that every rockstar book needs.

Your Rhythm was a great way to start off this series. Lovers of rockstar romances will enjoy this. You get a great group of guys who have a clear passion for their music that is undoubtedly felt while reading this book and a unique backstory that separates it from all other cliched rockstar story plots.

{I received this as an ARC in exchange for an Honest review}
Katia Rose is one of those authors that I will read whatever she writes! Her books are the best contemporary goodness I need in my Life! "Your Rhythm" is no exception!! This book was really good! I really enjoyed reading this! Kay and Matt are so special! I loved them!!
Kay is trying to build her career back up. When she is offered the chance at the front page of her small newspaper she is excited until she finds out who her piece will be on. She is not thrilled to be doing a piece on "Sherbrooke Station" especially with her history with their label but she is a journalist and she has to do what she has to do. When she meets Matt the bands drummer she is immediately attracted to him but she has rules and not sleeping with her sources is one of them. She pushes past her attraction and does the article. She thinks she is done with hottie Matt and "Sherbrooke Station" but then her boss says the story was a hit so she will be doing more stories on them. The more time she spends with the band the closer she gets to Matt and the closer she get to breaking her rules.

"I trust him. I fear him. I need him."

Matt is the sexy drummer who is trying to handle becoming famous and keeping his band together! When he meets Kay he feels a connection to her and doesn't want their time to end when the interview is over. When she tells him she is going to be doing more stories about them he is excited to get to spend more time with her. He is spending time with Kay and falling for her while also juggling his band and the new agency who is not all they were cracked up to be. Matt is such a sweet guy! He really cares for his band mates and Kay. He is trying to do what is best for everyone. Falling for Kay wasn't part of the plan but it doesn't stop him!! I love him so much and him and Kay are so wonderful together! Matt is the perfect book boyfriend it is so easy to fall in love with him!!

"Why do you want me?" "Because Kay, when I'm with you I feel like.... like everything's going to be all right. You make me feel stronger, just by being around."

The band isn't perfect. They are trying to navigate their way throughout the new found fame together and it isn't easy. Kay dose such an amazing job helping to get their story out to the world! Kay and Matt are a couple I loved reading about! They were so cute together and sexy as hell!!! This is such an amazing contemporary!! It is the perfect book to read when you are in a book slump or are just looking for a cute contemporary. It is so wonderful and the sexy times are so freaking sexy like wow!!! This was so so good!! I can't wait to read about Ace, Cole, and JP!! "Sherbrooke Station" is a series I am super excited for.

"You and me, right?".... "You and me."

This was D E L I G H T F U L ohmygod!!

I'm finding out about me that I'm actually starting to get a taste for romance involving musicians. They are so fascinating! And in that sense, this story was deeply satisfying. Its characters had such distinct voices and personalities, it was amazing to get to know and care for them.

The story reminded me a lot of "How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days", which is one of my favorite romcoms- but at the same time it had its own original elements (mostly because, while there were several parallels between Andie and Kay, and the general idea of the story kicks off from a similar concept, that's pretty much where the resemblance stops. So it's similar, but really different. Hope that makes sense to you cause it's starting to barely make sense to me as I see it in writing).

Kay and Matt are amazing protagonists, and I could easily find them relatable in many aspects, although I admit, I found myself feeling closer to Matt than Kay. Another thing I really enjoyed was, besides the characters and the main relationship, the dynamics of the band; they had an intense and appealing dynamics both as friends and bandmates. It all made for the most engaging reading I could hope for! And, as far as relationships go, I found the added element of Matt's little brother really endearing- and what it added to Matt's character only made me swoon harder (?) for him. Cause, oh yeah, Matt is just *that* type of character a girl with specific tastes like myself just can't help but fall for. He was an incredible sweetheart, a Soft Boy (or guy, rather, cause he's 24) and that falls just right up my alley. And the chemistry between the MCs... There's a lot to be said about that, too. But I think it's better experienced first hand, so I'd strongly advice to read this.

All in all, this was a win all over for me! I'm so glad I got the chance to read it!

If you were to look on my bookstagram feed, you would see that im no stranger to Katia Rose. She writes the type of book that leaves your heart happy, and is one of my “automatic one-click”authors. Imagine my excitement when i was given the opportunity to read her new story, YOUR RHYTHM. It is a contemporary, romantic comedy, and involves one of my favourite things, musicians. I am a sucker for a rockstar book, and oh boy, did I fall in love with Matt Pearson!!! *sighs*
Matt is the drummer for up and coming, Montreal based rock group “Sherbrooke Station”. This story centres around him, his bandmates and of course, our heroine, Kay. I genuinely adored all of these characters, and am hoping that Ace, Cole and JP will also get their time in the spotlight, because i know their stories will be every bit as good.
Matt and Kay were a perfect match, in more ways than one, and they had that sizzling chemistry right from their very first meeting.

“Kissing Matt Pearson feels like making music. As we break apart and stare at each other’s shadowed faces, I know I’m not going to be able to get the song we just started out of my head for a long, long time.”

YOUR RHYTHM has everything you need in a story, relateable characters, romance, sexiness and some lighthearted funny moments. Im going to say that this is my favourite Katia Rose book to date, and look forward to the rest of the series.

Your Rhythm is a contemporary, romantic comedy and my introduction to Katia Rose reads. I haven't read to many "rockstar" reads before and found this to be a wonderful start to to the Sherbrooke Station series.

Kay Fischer is a music journalist but after being burned, badly, by the industry and involving her ex. She no longer working at her dream job, having to start all over again working for a smaller magazine. It's not what and where she thought she'd be but a girls got to pay her bills. When the opportunity crosses her path of interviewing a new and upcoming band. Kay is really in two minds weather she can go down this road again. But she is a reporter, who loves music and wanted to tell the story of the musicians!

Matt Pearson is the drummer for a new and upcoming band, Sherbrooke Station. He meets Kay Fischer when his band mate, Ace, forgets to go to an interview. Matt really wants the best for this band and knows missing out on promotional opportunity's is not the way forward. So even though he's annoyed at Ace, he goes in his place.

What Matt never expected was that instant attraction to his interviewer. He likes her quirkiness and at the end of the unusual interview he wants more. He makes sure that their paths will cross once again and soon.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

From the minute Kay meets Matt, she feels a connection to him, one she tries her hardest to bury. But when her initial interview leads her to writing a full story while the band is touring. It becomes even harder to deny the chemistry between her and Matt. Sparks fly on and off the stage, but at the back of Kay's mind she's just waiting for her past to come and crush something that she finds herself wanting more off.

I really liked Matt he wasn't your typical hard man rock star. Which i think made me love him more. He was approachable and had no problem showing his softer side especially when it came to Kay. All he wanted was to make music. If fame came along with it bonus, but for him it was all about the music.

"Music can make you feel like a single drop and an entire ocean all at once. "

So if you're looking for a rockstar read that is a fun, romance with just enough angst to make it a great read, then this really is a book for you. I'm looking forward to see what more is to come from men of Sherbrooke station!!

** I received a free copy of this book through Voracious Readers **

This is the first book I’ve read by Katia Rose and the first of the Sherbrooke Station set. I didn’t know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the excellent character profiles and the romantic connection formed between Kay and Matt from their passion for music.

The story has the usual twists and turns of a typical romance book but it was never dull and everything worked out in the end.

I’m thrilled to see that the next book “Your Echo” is available on Kindle unlimited and will definitely be reading the next story soon. I’ll be interested to see how it pans out as Ace was my least favourite of the band members and appears to be the main focus for the next book... second review pending!

3.5 STARS!

Your Rhythm was an enjoyable, light, and sexy rockstar romance that kept me turning the pages until the very end. Not only because of the main couple but the guys from Sherbrooke Station. The chemistry between them was fabulous, and I can't wait to read more of them.

Overall, I'm glad that I had the chance to read this book. It brightened my mood and opened my eyes to a new author. Your Rhythm was my first Katia Rose's experience, and I can say with total sureness that it won't be my last.

First, please ignore the fact that I can't spell Rhythm or use spell check on the graphics.

This book was different, for me, when reading Rock Star romances. Usually I read romances where the girl is a nobody(in terms of fame, YOU ALL MATTER), and the guy is a famous Rock Star bored with the groupies. They're usually drug addicts, or recovering addicts and the girl they fall for is the one that heals them, or whatever. There is 100% nothing wrong with this trope. It can be enjoyable, if done the right way. However, Katia Rose depicts something different and fresh.

Matt Pearson is the drummer for a new and upcoming band, Sherbrook Station. He is responsible, not into using drugs but instead really focused on making the best music he can make with his band, his brothers. He meets Kay Fischer when his band mate, Ace, forgets to go to an interview so Matt goes in his place. BOOM fireworks! He recognizes that Kay is attractive, and he wants to see her again, so he makes sure they have to. Although underhanded, he also recognizes Kay wouldn't call him unless absolutely necessary.

Kay Fischer has been burned, badly, by the industry and her ex. She is a reporter, who always loved music and wanted to tell the story of the musicians. When she started to dig around in the wrong music group, she is working for a newspaper where she can hide and lick her wounds. From the minute she meets Matt, she feels a connection to him, one she tries to bury. But when she's charged with writing a story on the band, Matt and Kay work in close quarters.

One of my favorite things about this story, something that will be my favorite in any book I ever read, is the level of respect these two have for each other. They fight with each other, and for each other, but there is a deeper level of respect for both their professions. Kay wants to hide their relationship because it could cause her to lose her already tattered reputation, and although Matt would rather scream from the rooftops that he is with Kay Fischer, he doesn't pressure her for more than she can give. And it's not the "I WANT TO SHAKE THIS GIRL" kind of "this is all I can give" it's one that you understand her reservations, and her fear of putting her job, and her heart, on the line. And Kay, though she didn't like Sherbrooke Station at first, comes to love not only the band, but Matt's dedication to his band and his music. And she would do anything to make sure he keeps his love of music.

This book was amazing. I had my reservations in the beginning, but I loved Kay from the start. And from the line "I swear a lot when I'm cold" because if that isn't me I don't know what is. There was just enough drama, and push and pull, to keep me thoroughly invested in both Kay and Matt, without wanting to gag or pull my hair out of my head. After reading this, I read Thigh Highs by Katia Rose, in hopes that it wasn't a one time thing (and also because I follow Katia on Instagram and won a copy in a giveaway- so you should follow her too), and I was not disappointed. After I write the reviews I need to write for a bunch of books... I'm going to download all the books I can by her!

The only thing that brought this book down for me in stars, is that there is a bunch of French in it, which is understandable since it's set in Canada, but there were no translations! I love some mix of languages in a book, but I know not a word of French. And I tried looking stuff up, but it took away from the flow of the novel, and if I just ignored the French, I felt I was missing something in the dialogue.

Your Rhythm by Katia Rose was such a great read. It was almost perfect to me! It had romance, music, friendship, and much much more and I just couldn't get enough. Matt Pearson is the drummer in a group called Sherbrooke Station. They are an up and coming band who has recently got a record deal with a pretty big record company. Kay is a journalistic who used to have an amazing job at one of the most popular music magazines in Montreal, but has fallen from grace and now works for a lower newspaper called La Gare.

I loved both Matt and Kay so much! They were both so driven in their careers and I wanted them both to succeed so badly. They also had a believable chemistry and pace towards their relationship and becoming more then friends. There is a couple parts that made me so happy in regards to them and I cant wait for more from them in future books!

I am really hoping Katia gives us the rest of the guys (Ace, Cole, and JP's books) because I need more of all of them. Each one seemed like such a real person and they were all so different from each other so I literally need to learn more about them and their love stories. Another awesome aspect of this book was that it was set mainly in Montreal, Quebec! I was actually born there and tho I haven't been back in many years it was still cool seeing the french parts and just that it was set in Canada to be honest!

I highly suggest you pick this up!!! So amazing.

It’s release day for ‘Your Rhythm’ and I couldn’t be more excited to share this book with the world! This is my third novel and the start of my first ever series. It’s a story that’s very close to my heart, and I hope readers have as good of a time tagging along on Matt and Kay’s whirlwind of a romance as I did while writing it.

One thing in particular that makes this book special to me is the setting. Montreal tops my list of favourite cities ever, and I loved incorporating real-life details and elements of Montreal culture that capture why I’m so enamoured with the place. Writing a story so closely focused on music was also important to me. It was really fascinating to explore what music meant to all of the characters and how it brought them together. Then, of course, there’s the romance itself! Matt and Kay’s struggle to sort out their feelings for each other and decide what to do about them won me over completely. They both showed up in my head with so many layers and strengths and flaws, and I loved seeing their journey play out in front of me on my laptop screen.

As always, there’s some refreshing humour and a healthy dose of steam to go along with all of that! I’m stoked to kick this series off and I’d be thrilled to have you along for the ride :)

I received a free copy of this book from VRO in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this was a cute story that had potential. As a Canadian, it was interesting to see a Canadian setting, but the name dropping of street names and places felt a little over the top at times.

I liked Kay and Matt, but their instant connection came a bit out of nowhere, and didn’t necessarily have the chemistry and compatibility to back it up. Also, this is my personal preference, but I didn’t enjoy during their first sexual encounter that she kept thinking of him as dangerous and he was being (in my opinion) overly physically aggressive. I have absolutely no problem with this, but they hadn’t had any discussion about their preferences and what they are both comfortable with, so it came a bit out of nowhere for me.

I liked the band mates, except for Ace, but it seemed like we weren’t necessarily meant to like him. Unfortunately, it looks like he’s the main character in the next book, which doesn’t make me want to read it.

Your Rhythm is my first book by Katia Rose. A slow burn romance about a musician and a music journalist, the novel is easy to read and the characters feel like people you would have in your own circle of friends.

Kay our heroine is a music journalist, after coming to blows with a big player in the music business in her previous job, she struggled for employment. She has landed in a position writing a music and arts segment for a local newspaper. Kay is told that the newspaper is failing and is close to being shut down, and is tasked with the job of writing a saviour piece about a local up and coming rock band.

Matt is the hero of the story, a drummer in the band Sherbrook Station. The band have been a group of friends for the last 6 years playing local gigs, creating quite the following. Now they have signed with a large record label and are about to head off on their first European Tour. Matt seems to be the sensible, conscientious member of band. His band mates Cole, JP, and Ace all have their own qualities and troubles that Matt always has to solve or calm acting as the big brother of the band, taking a lot of stress and responsibility on his shoulders.

Kay and Matt meet when the lead singer of the band ACE fails to show up for an interview with Kay, leaving Matt to attend in his place. This first meeting is a sweet and endearing one, that shows the first sparks between the two characters and leaves Matt smitten.

I found Matt to be the driving force behind the story, he was the one making the excuses to meet, planting the seeds for Kay to show up in places where he could find her, giving her reason to see him again. I liked this subtle approach to convincing the heroine she needs him in her life, it was different to the usual alpha musician role we come to expect.

The story seems to flow along nicely, immersing you in Kay and Matt's world, swept up in their romance and friendship until tension builds within the unity of the band and walls begin to tumble with Kay is at the centre. The conclusion is fitting and I like that although the romance is Matt and Kay's, that Matt's friendship with his band members plays an important role in his relationship and his life.

I did enjoy Your Rhythm there were some really sweet moments that stood out with Matt, especially the rooftop moment. For me there weren't any wow moments; but the story was consistent and I liked the authenticity of the French Canadian language thrown in even if I didn't understand it. At first I thought this disrupted the flow; however Katia wrote them in places where you could work out the intention of the sentence even if it wasn't explained. I am curious to read stories from the remaining 3 band members, Your Rhythm allowed some insight into Ace, Cole and JP to leave me wanting more.

WOW! I adore everything there is about music and everything there is about writing. This book was the perfect merriment of those two things, two of my favorite things. Everything about this book was so well written, so well thought out and so developed. There isn’t one negative thing I could say about the book. It had the perfect about amount of twists, turns, hills, slides, falls, everything you want from a books flow and more. And the emotions, man was she good at those! I always felt myself feeling exactly what they were feeling. Whether Kay or Matt were getting excited for a show, angry over something someone did or said, nervous about something happened, all of it. I felt those exact feelings all of the time. But, enough about the writing (although it was good enough to rave about).

Kay and Matt. These two really are what you want in a lead couple. There’s mass confusion, lots of complicated feelings, lots of life events getting in the way and there’s always a secret or two. These two made waves though, from the first moment they met. The chemistry they had was undeniable, and I can’t believe that they resisted as long as they did. There were a lot of bumps in their path, but that is really what makes up a relationship. Kay, as a writer, was really an inspirational character. Being a journalist you have to ask yourself a lot of questions, which she did regularly, and you have to know who you want to be. The words that Kay spoke were so perfect. And then we have Matt. It was the same for him. You could tell he was the lyric man, and clearly a romantic. He also seemed to be a glue to his band.

Without giving too much away, the ins and outs of this book were flawless. There was just the perfect amount of everything (which I think I’ve already said). I cannot recommend this book enough!!

Embark with Sherbrooke Station on this beautiful and musical journey of love, laughter, music and loyalty.. A complete package of honesty, trust, hatred, fear, determination and success.

Set in beautiful Montreal, with its chill and French natives, Katia creates a warm inviting background to the novel. Its my first time reading a Katia Rose novel and I've never been so high on book hangover.
Matt Pearson, the drummer is struggling to mend the bend within the band.. A tattooed bad ass with a soft heart is an enigma in himself.

Kay Fisher, a once famous journalist is struggling with her career being burned by the industry and the famous Atlas label.. And when given a chance to write a story on Sherbrooke station, she sets off to find her footing.

Matt Pearson and Kay Fisher are so perfect for each other that it hurts to even think about the time when they were not together.

This book being a rock star romance, is different than any other rock star romances I've read. Rock star romances tend to focus more on the hard stuff. Your Rhythm, not only focuses on music and band, but also love, dreams and trust.

The writing is so delicate and warm, yet all the details so thoroughly stated. I'm in love with the article, which Kay writes on Sherbrooke Station, its so insightful. I would highly recommend this book to all the bookaholics out there. 😘😘

I was given this book to read for an honest review by Voracious Readers.

Matt a dummer in the band Sherbrooke Station is instantly drawn to Kay, a reporter doing a story on the band. The scene is the rise of the band into big time and problems associated with that especially as they influence the band's success and survival. There is added pressure on Kay who needs to get a story for her small time newspaper and that would mean selling Matt out and she is also dealing with issues from her past.

The story line is contemporary and exciting. Katia Rose's characters are amazing, especially how they all relate to each other (group dynamics) and why they formed a band in the first place. She brings out each character and they are all a great group of guys at heart who really love music, but he band is struggling because of various problems. Matt is a real sweetie that always has his band members backs, he is loyal and faithful. Kay had been "burned" in the past and is rebuilding her career up. The pair of them have a chemistry.

There are plenty of twists and turns, never a dull moment and the author takes us on that "wild ride" with them. There is passion, comedy and drama and plenty of "rock". If you music, rock bands and romance then this is a book for you. I finished it and straight away ordered the next in the series!

This is my third book by Katia Rose and they have all been wonderful, this one no different. I really loved this take on a rock star romance and I feel like it was a refreshing take! While Matt was a rock star and definitely had the talent and musical ability, he lacked the huge bad boy trait that so many hero in this type of romance have. He was charming, talented, and all around a good person. I feel like so often authors depend on the flawed and brooding character to make a romance work, but Katia wrote Matt in such a relate able way. He seemed like a real person and not an unobtainable star buy best of all a genuinely good person who found the woman for him.
I loved Kay as well, she had really been handed a crappy hand at her previous job and she handled it in such a strong way in my opinion. I loved her devotion to her job and her passion for music!
Their love story was super sweet and I enjoyed every minute of it.
The only thing I wish there was more of was time with Matt and Kay together as a couple. I also wish we got a little bit more background information about Matt and the beginning of the band as well as more development in Kay's background.

Overall such an entertaining rock star romance! Can't wait for Katia's next novel :)

Blurb:

She’s a professional, goddammit, and a professional would not get tongue-tied over a source, even a source who’s a six-foot, tattooed rock god with an affinity for tight jeans.

A professional would not find herself opening her door at an hour long past midnight to pull said source inside and lead him to her bed.

No, that’s not at all what a professional would do.

Your Rhythm, more than a romance, is about dreams, what it takes to achieve them, the roadblocks along the way and how to stay true to yourself once you do.

It's about passion, loyalty, determination, fear, trust, and friendship. It's relatable and a page turner, and I especially loved the ending as well as the articles.

description

The writing is very descriptive and intelligent.
There were parts I thought were insignificant fillers but it all led up to the perfect ending and it was all worth it.

I see a lot of complaints in the reviews about the French phrases but most, if not all, are translated in the sentences that follow.

Overall, it was an enjoyable read with interesting and diverse characters. This was my first book by Katia Rose and it definitely won't be the last. I'm really looking forward to Cole's story especially and hope it's the next one in the series!

Hip young music journalist hooks up with the drummer of a hot new Canadian band. Sexy hijinks occur.

The villain of the book is the eeeevil record label the band has signed with. They also have a bad history with our fierce young journalist.

The band is kind of a wreck. The author writes with passion about what music can and does mean to people, so I liked that, but the members of the band are selfish and spoiled, so I found them unsympathetic.

I took a star off because:

The heroine is presented as a smart, talented, strong young woman. Based on the journalists I know, you have to have a thick hide to make it in the field. But when drummer Matt comes along she collapses like a cream puff. I could not believe that a professional would suddenly sleep with a subject and turn as wussy as she did. One minute she is all " I am journalist, hear me roar," the next she is all about the sexy times and helping the band by writing stories that promote them.

Who doesn’t love a good band romance? The thing with these types of books as they all follow the same script: unknown girl meets band god, they fall for each other, one does something to ruin it, then the makeup. I’m not a fan of this formula because you fall for the relationship but question the characters.

Katia Rose bring a breath of fresh air to this formula. One that still has the climactic “oh no” moment, but here you somehow fall even more in love with the characters. It’s a brilliant spin that allows the characters to avoid the typical flaws.

If you love fast reads that allow you to escape and swoon this is for you. I’m also a huge fan of the Canadian backdrop and spin. Not often I get to read a book like this set in my country. So refreshing.

I loved this book. It is an author new to me and I was drawn into the story quickly. It is set in Montreal, Canada. I am not familiar with the city but I know it's a part of Canada that is bilingual with French speaking prominent. There is French pharses used in the book but they are translated.

The story seemed real. An emerging rock band with real growing pains between blowing themselves apart and the wiles of a large controling record label they manage to navigate with the help of Kay, a journalist who they don't entirely trust.

It was so interesting to read and the characters were likable. You'll find yourself hoping their band comes to a town near you!!

This was a great read! I loved the story and the characters and can’t wait to read the next in the series. The only thing that wasn’t my favorite was how the author used French within the story. I’m not normally a fan of reading books that mix in other languages that I don’t know. But I will say that this was one that I could still enjoy. She didn’t make me feel like I was missing anything with how she cleverly included the translations within the descriptions of how the scenes were playing out. I would definitely recommend.

The next up and coming...

Sherbrooke Station is the newest band to enter into the Atlas Records fold. Like wayeard sheep, they are struggling to stay in line. New found fame cause the groupies, parties, and drinking to seem glamorous. However it's making these rockstars look more like kids gone wild.

One reporter is all it takes to wake them u out of their trance. Too bad she had no intention of being any part of their lives.

Hut just like the snow in your boot, sometimes what we least want is exactly what we need.

I was so impressed with Your Rhythm. Katia Rose has a beautiful writing style that allows you to follow the story quite easily. The character development was really nice, focusing in the principle characters and not getting in the muck with other characters as some authors do.

I truly enjoyed the story and am now looking forward to Your Echo.

Finally, the fact that I didn't mark up the book with ? marks because of circular writing and grammer that makes me crazy was such a wonderful treat. Thank you Katia Rose. Good luck with your next stories.

Getting a band out there isn't easy, this book shows the highs and lows of fame, the build up to it, misunderstanding,s and crossed wires, in this book you get to know the drummer Matt but you also get to meet the other guys to, I enjoyed this part of their journey and hopefully the others get their stories told. And yes a love story with a HEA. A good read and would recommend it.

A Rock and Roll Love Story this was a hot romance against the cold backdrop of Montreal. I can't put my finger on it but this reminded me of a Point Romance novel that I used to love, and I'm pretty sure that also involved a musician and a hot music journalist. Just for the record, that is not a bad thing, I LOVED those books.

Kay is a music journalist, kind of unhappily ensconced at a newspaper which she doesn't care much for, writing for the more generic 'arts and culture' section, when she is sent to interview the lead singer from the hot new band on the block 'Sherbrooke Station'. She isn't best pleased dismissing them as over hyped and over produced, until she actually spends time with the drummer Matt and there is instant chemistry between the two of them. The novel breaks here and we get chapters from both Matt and Kay's point of view which is nice, it means we get to see a lot more of the band members and their friendship and personalities than we would otherwise. I really liked the dynamic between the band and their close friendship and clashing personalities, allowing us to get to know them sets us up well for the other books in this series.

I liked Kay but in some ways her character felt less developed, we meet a friend of hers briefly and she's never seen again, for all that Kay calls her a bad friend of dissing her for a hook up, she also only reached out for a bed for the night, hardly a solid friendship.

Trying without spoilers here; I enjoyed the novel and found it a lot of fun, with some very steamy moments which were really written. I think that there were a few issues for me, firstly Kay getting tipsy/drunk before interviewing Matt int he first place. If you're a lightweight with alcohol you just wouldn't, no matter how long you've been waiting, soft drinks are available in bars Kay!

The Evil Record Company angle was obvious and okay but it had some very cartoon villain characters...David...with his constant 'Pat, not Matt' and the whole 'fake' article which blows up in everyone's faces felt a bit of a stretch as does the resolution at the end involving someone from Kays' past. And her sudden fire-y speech came out of nowhere, I felt like I needed a short chapter before that to see where this came from.

Overall I would recommend this one and will definitely read the other books (I'd like to see if the author can change my very low opinion of Ace!) I liked the guys in the band and want to see where this goes.

i started this book with low expectations, but katia rose REALLY proved me wrong.
this is a super cute romance about a guy in a rock band and a journalist who needs to write an article about them to save her job. when i saw what this was about, i definitely didn't expect to really care about the characters, or even expect to be able to understand them and their individual personalities very well, but when i tell y'all the characterization in this book made me care about the general well-being of matt and kay (not even just about their relationship!!), i'm not kidding. i wanted to wrap matt up in a blanket and protect him from his record label and paparazzi and anything else that might hurt him. kay is a strong, independent woman, but that didn't stop me from wanting to take care of her, too.
and i mean, this pretty much goes without saying, but the romance in this book is So Good. it starts off kind of slow, but i think that helps draw you in and get to know the characters on a deeper level and become attached to the idea of their inevitable relationship. katia rose writes from the pov of both main characters, and this really helps you understand just how deeply these characters care for each other. seeing kay come to terms with the fact that she actually has feelings had me smiling nonstop, and the adorable gestures from matt when he wanted to impress kay left me wanting a boyfriend so badly. of course, there are some very exciting and steamy scenes (well done katia rose), but this isn't a story about lust, which i think makes those scenes 10x better.
this book is full of passion (for music, for writing, for each other) and these feelings are so strongly represented you can almost feel it yourself. anytime a band member talked about how it felt to play music or kay described the concerts she was at, i felt like i was there myself, and it made me want to listen to music with a new perspective - thank god katia makes a playlist for all of her books. every chapter of this book is named after a song and this adds so much to the reading experience.

honestly, i could gush about this book forever, but i'll cut myself off here by saying if you like romance (or even if you don't), this is definitely a book you need to pick up.
