While I don’t play a Skorne army (I’m a Cygnar and Cephylax player), if I was going to play Warmachine: Hordes, Skorne would be what I would play. Why, because the models look awesome!
I always found the Skorne background fluff to be appealing (as a big-time Warhammer 40,000 Dark Eldar player I saw the Skorne as kind of an honorable version of the Dark Eldar, though I know that isn’t a perfect comparison) and this was the main reason I wanted to read this book. There is a lot of good information here: history, culture, Skorne weapons and equipment and warbeasts. I was actually so excited about what I read that I made a Skorne Praetorian/Nihilator to play in my weekly gaming group’s Iron Kingdoms campaign. This book offers a lot of good Skorne Profession options (many of which showcase the Skorne’s warrior lifestyle).
I’d recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about the Skorne, playing a Skorne character in IK or wanting to use them as antagonists in their campaign.
