*I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review*

I'm a meal planner and over the years I've made every type of breakfast (grab and go), dinner (juggling 4 different mealtimes), and lunch (from PB&J brown bags and kids' lunches to my on-the-go salads or sandwiches when I was working and going to school what felt like around the clock). I've learned a thing or two but I can see how making a week's worth of meals could be overwhelming to a novice. Mastering Meal Prep offers weekly menus, grocery lists (lots of fresh, whole, natural foods), prep-day schedules, and time-saving tips to show you how one hour on the weekend can free up huge amounts of time during your busy work week. Each week is broken down with foundation recipes and unique meal suggestions created from reworking each recipe.

Do you kick yourself for eating fast food and wish you would have spent a little time planning ahead so you could eat something more nutritious? Or maybe you just can't stand the idea of taking another frozen meal out of the microwave? Maybe you have tried meal prepping but you're simply making a single meal that you will eat all week (boring!) Mastering Meal Prep is the ultimate meal prep tool for beginners! If you are not yet a pro in the kitchen or you're not sure how to plan your meals for the week then this book is for you! It also gave me a lot of inspiration for my menu planning.

This was an okay cookbook. Lots of beautiful recipes, but the meals obviously need a lot more prep time than advertised. Also, the week-by-week organization and shopping list was nice, but not every meal for the week coincided with each other. For example, Week 2 was suppose to be meals with beef yet one meal served salmon; it just didn’t make sense. Overall, the book was decent but I won’t be using it any time soon to help with my weekly meal prep.

If the concept of meal prep is new to you this is a good one to start with as it shows how prepping on one day of the week carries through with diverse meals for the next five. The recipes are easy and straightforward and a beginner can master them without needing to buy a lot of special ingredients. Comprehensive shopping lists and nutritional breakdowns help figure out what will work for you.

A solid meal planning cookbook for someone starting out or who wants something basic but will probably not offer enough for the experienced meal prepper. I would have liked a few more photos of the finished meals, but we are getting back to meal prep so this was a good choice to get me motivated and back into the swing of things.

I got this book on sale and thought the value was good. A great book for someone in your life just starting out on their own or for someone new to meal prep. Not complicated so will be encouraging to someone who needs info but could get overwhelmed easily.

I used this cookbook so much more than I’ve used any. The recipes are tasty and I like that you use up your leftovers creatively. It didn’t take just an hour extra for me to do it all, but I still highly recommend this book.

-i like the idea of this cookbook, and how she makes a lot of one ingredient and then uses it all up in different recipes. but i wasnt impressed with most of the recipes.
