The small coal mining town of Raven Hollow was all Stormy ever knew. That, and her insufferable bible thumping mother. Her house was a place where dreams died and hopes were dashed before they had the chance to breathe life into her beaten down soul.
Until one day… a power emerges inside of her. Not only igniting a spark of hope, but setting it ablaze.
When a mysterious letter arrives from a relative she’s never met, Stormy latches onto the idea of a better future. But with a mother hell-bent on keeping her locked away, Stormy must find her chance to escape before time runs out.
In a matter of days, the small life she is used to gets turned upside down as two worlds collide and she stares her fate right in the eyes.

Well, to start off, my name is Michelle Weese. I live in Daytona Beach, Florida with my husband and soulmate, Daniel, of ten wonderful years and four fat lazy housecats. I was born and raised in the old mountains of West Virginia. I am a floral designer with six years in the flower industry but I recently developed a passion for writing last year. I always loved reading, ever since I was a small child. Books are very important to me, my escape from reality when the world around me is too much to handle. I will always be a bookworm. Also, I am an avid movie lover, which I think passed down to me from my grandfather. I have fond memories of visiting him and my grandmother and always so infatuated with his “tv room” as he called it. It was four walls of shelving and covered in every square inch with VHS movies from floor to ceiling. He had great taste in movies, and music, too. I took after him and collected many movies over the years, though not nearly as many as he had. My favorite genre is, and probably always will be, horror. I prefer my books and my movies to be horror/thrillers but will consider others, if interesting enough. My favorite author, the reason I am so in love with the horror genre, is Stephen King. The first book I read from him, many years ago, was Misery and I got hooked from that point on. Because of my admiration for reading, my best friend, Sara, challenged me one day last year to write a book… so I did! I hope that I can reach out to my fellow horror lovers and share the world I have created within the dark corners of my mind. Happy Reading!

This was a very haunting and emotional story. I sat here crying as I read of the treatment that Stormy had to endure at the hands of her mean, sadistically evil mother and I use the term “mother” loosely here. Stormy tries to do everything her mother tells her to do and she is still punished time and time again. Not because she has done things wrong but because her mother just down right hates the poor girl! My heart broke as I read the very descriptive words on the pages of the terrible ways her mother came up with to beat her. Stormy though is one strong young lady and takes the punishments even though she doesn’t understand why she is receiving them until one day, something magical happens while she is doing her never-ending chores and was working in the garden. What it meant, Stormy had no idea at the time and was so afraid her God fearing, overzealous mother would see what was happening that she hurriedly finished her work and went into the house. And that is when Vivian, the churchgoing, ever righteous, bible reading shrew made her mistake. Stormy accidentally found a letter addressed to her hidden on the cupboard. When she read it, she felt her life was going to be changed forever.
I was totally engrossed in this story that I seriously couldn’t put it down. I cried, I laughed, I said awww(I just love Moses) a few times and I swore many times but through it all I was cheering for Stormy with everything that was thrown at her and I mean that literally, I really enjoyed this story. It has stayed with me all day and I keep finding myself thinking about it. I am hoping there will be a book two to continue this harrowing story of Stormy and hoping she will get her happily ever after. Do I recommend this book? Definitely a yes to that! You won’t be disappointed. It is well written, it is entertaining, it is magically, amazingly, good.

What a ride! This book took me outside my comfort zone as I don’t typically gravitate towards the supernatural. The highlight for me was the descriptive language for sure. It completely appealed to the senses and painted a perfect picture while also allowing me to fill in bits and pieces with my own imagination. Exciting and whimsical! Excellent job and hoping for a follow up!!

Absolutely incredible

Absolutely incredible story. Great cast of characters. I almost thought it was a Stephen King novel in the beginning and then it turns into a supernatural adventure. Once I started reading it I could not put it down until I finished it. A young girl in a small backwards Appalachian town of religious zealots is kowtowed by her mother until One day she can take more and things begin to happen. I will leave it at that for you to find out. I cannot wait until the next book comes out in the series. I hope this series is a long one with mini many books in it. I hope the author writes fast and turns out the books. I am chomping at the bit to read the next one. A definite must read

Amazing book. The surroundings are described so well, you feel like you're there. It was a fast read and I can't wait for the second book! There is a second one right??? It can't end like that.
