From Samantha Towle, New York Times bestselling author of Breaking Hollywood and Ruin, comes a new powerful, passionate and dramatic contemporary romance.

“With the first pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select…”

It’s been three years since quarterback Ares Kincaid’s NFL dream came true, and he’s living the high life. The days of cleaning up after his drunk of a father are long gone, and he has no intention of going back.

A car crash and DUI charge meant a lengthy stint in rehab for Arianna Petrelli, and her dream of being a professional artist slips further away when she’s sacked from her position at a gallery. Her need for a job stronger even than her dislike of football, Ari goes to work for her father, the head coach of the New York Giants.

Ares hates alcoholics, which is fine with Ari because she thinks he’s a brainless jock. Yet when Ares rescues Ari from a situation with her ex-boyfriend, an unlikely friendship begins – one that quickly becomes more.

But messing around with the coach’s daughter can only lead to one thing…trouble.

I clicked 3 ONLY because of the heroine and as respect for people, who fight addiction!

Heroine – 4 stars
‘hero’ – 1 star and only because he was a good brother

I liked the girl a lot, and I felt sorry for her. Her dad clearly abandoned her and she unfortunately had a bad taste in men, which also applied to the so called ‘hero’.

Damn, he permanently ‘reduced’, he did it all the time! Jailbird? Jailbird, you asshole?

GFY!!!

The way he behaved at the end and didn’t believe her… ugh! Unredeemable!

If she hadn’t forgiven him, I would have rated this book with 5+ stars!

What’s wrong with becoming strong on her own? She didn’t need a living and judgmental proof of her fail aka ‘hero’ in her life! She gained strength at the end; she could have done much better than him!

He was a freaking drama-queen. Absurd character. I can only speak for myself, but good looks, big dick and well-learned moves in bed do NOT make a mess of male DNA to a real man!

I liked heroine’s sponsor Luke a lot, he would be much better match for her.

My deep respect to all, who fight addiction!
Don’t give up! You are worth it!

It’s amazing how life can change in the blink of an eye. One blink, and my hedonistic lifestyle—the one I was so sure that I loved—came crashing down around me, bringing me to a new reality. A clean, sober reality. But also a lonely, empty reality. Then, one person came along and changed everything so very completely again. One kiss changed everything.

RUSH, the second installment from Samantha Towle’s ”Gods” series, was an incredibly sexy, angsty and entertaining read! I am loving this series so much. I have to say this was the perfect enemies-to-lovers romance! The story flowed perfectly and I loved both the Hero and Heroine.

Ares and Arianna’s first encounter is awkward and yet sexy at the same time. You can feel the attraction between them, but it’s like a bucket of ice water is poured on top of his head, when he finds out that Arianna is his coach’s daughter. Ares' demeanor towards Ari turns sour and downright rude. His hangups from his personal life cloud his judgment and my heart ached for poor Ari.

Ari is a recovering alcoholic. She’s six months sober. She was charged with a DUI when she crashed her ex-boyfriend’s car. Fortunately, no one was hurt including Ari. But she ended up losing her job and her Dad, who is the head coach of the New York Giants, gets her a job working as a personal assistant to the team. At first, she and Ares do whatever they can to avoid each other until they run into each other in the city. Ares' younger sister, Missy, takes an instant liking to Arianna and can see the effect she has on her brother. So Missy decides to play cupid and of course, her plan works.

The romance heats up pretty quickly between Ares and Arianna. It’s been a long time since Arianna has been truly happy. She’s always had a strained and almost non-existent relationship with her father and her mother committed suicide when Ari was fifteen. It was her mother’s death that caused Ari's bout with alcoholism. Arianna's life seems to be taking a turn for the better with Ares in it. But deep down she thinks she isn’t good enough for him and that one day he’s going to realize it and walk away from her.

The romance runs into some rough patches, of course, and for the first time, I was on the Heroine’s side. I love that the author didn’t turn her Heroine into a doormat, I don’t think I would have loved this story as much as I did if Arianna was a weak character. I’m trying not to give too much of the plot away. All I can promise you is that this is one of those stories that you’ll breeze through because it will grab a hold of you from the very first page.

Here are my overall ratings

Heroine: 5

I remember reading and loving the first book in this series so I was excited to get to the next Kincaid brother’s book. This was a quick listen and I flew through it. I really liked the heroine, Ari, and I admired her strength and perseverance when it came to her recovery. The hero, Ares, I had mixed feelings about. Honestly, I didn’t love the way he treated Ari through much of the book, and just when I thought he had changed his ways, he wasn’t supportive or trusting when the conflict happened. Sigh. Overall, I still liked a lot about this, I just wish I would have loved the hero more.

Ares Kincaid has played in the NFL for the past three years, and is living his dream as the star quarterback for the New York Giants. He's nicknamed the missile because of his accuracy at getting the ball to his target, and is currently living the life. He's known for being an all around good guy who has a great reputation.

Arianna Petrelli has had some touch breaks, been in some trouble, and is now trying to get her life back on track. After being charged with a DUI she lost her job at a gallery. She's always wanted a career as a professional artist, but right now she'd just be happy to have a job period, so when her dad offers her one she takes it. He's the head coach for the Giants. Wanting to keep her close he hires her as an assistant to the team.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

As the coach's daughter she feels like an embarrassment. Since she began struggling with addiction she thinks she's a disappointment and a screw up. She just wants to make her dad proud. On her first day of her new job she meets her dad's golden boy, Mr. Perfect, aka Ares Kincaid. Her father is always singing his praises about how responsible he is. Must be nice to have it all together. Her encounter with Ares goes from awkward to intense as he's cold towards her. Turns out he can't stand alcoholics. Her opinion of him quickly changes from mouthwateringly delicious hottie to judgmental jerk. Then one evening he rescues her from a situation with her ex, and a friendship forms that soon turns into more.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

-The way he's looking at me... it's intense. Hungry.

-No one has ever looked at me this way before. Like they see only me.

-"You're incredible, Ari. So goddamn beautiful."

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Sexual tension erupts as Ares and Ari finally give into the passion between them. They get to know each other better and delve into their pasts. As they grow closer they become obsessed and completely addicted to one another. Suddenly all that matters is their love and being together is their top priority.

Book two in the Gods series was a fantastic enemies to lovers romance full of angst, and emotion. It was super steamy & sexy, and reminded me why I love Samantha Towle's writing so much. She creates the most beautiful men I can't help falling for.

I loved Ruin , which was Zeus and Cam’s story, so I had high expectations for Rush , which is Ares’ story. Every expectation was surpassed and I devoured this book in a day.

Ares is the second eldest of the Kincaid siblings and he is an NFL Quarterback who is at the top of his game. He is controlled, disciplined and demands honesty. He hates alcoholics because his father is one. Then he mets Arianna , she is the daughter of his Coach. She is stunning, funny, artistic...and a recovering alcoholic who is six months sober post detox after having a DUI.

Ari is one of the best heroines I have ever read and she is the reason this was a 5 star read for me. My heart ached for her. I wanted to wrap her up and protect her. Ares is so awful to her at times with his cruel words. He does redeem himself but really, Ari is the shinning star in this book.

HEA? More HFN
Cheating? No
I am so hoping the next book will be Missy and Kaden.

Re Read via audio in September 2020.
This is still an all time favourite book of mine. Ari is still one of the best Heroine's I have ever read and each time I read it I like her even more. Great narration by Brooke Bloomingdale.

Second re read via audio - May 2022. The scene where Ares messes up big time still breaks my heart for Ari. Love this book so much.

4.5 stars! (First Read 8/6/2018)

This series is quickly becoming one of my all-time favorites. It's so easy for me to get lost in a Samantha Towle novel. The storyline is always engaging and I fall for the characters fast and hard.

I'm a big fan of characters who make mistakes. And not the kind of mistakes that get explained away, but honest-to-god mistakes that make them wake up and reevaluate what they're doing with their life. Ari was that type of character, and I loved her for it!! She was flawed, yet resilient.

Ares is a dick in the beginning, and there's nothing I love more than when the hero is an ass and then ends up eating shit when he realizes how wrong he was. The two of them were the perfect love-to-hate and hate-to-love couple!

If you love an enemies-to-lovers romance and/or have enjoyed Samantha's other books, this NEEDS to be on your radar 💛

And if a certain couple (I don't want to spoil anything) doesn't get their own book, I might actually cry 😭😭 So please take pity on me Mrs. Towle and make it happen 🙏🏻🙃

I’m a sucker for Enemies to Lovers story and this story made me smile with happiness. Filled with sass and quick banter, Ares Kinkaid and Arianna Petrelli showed how peeling layers from their preconceived notions can turn into love. The journey was filled with angst, emotions, sexual tension and sexy times. It made for a feisty and charming read.

Ares, the hot sexy jock has it all. The star of the NY Giants. But his past has had heartbreak and his patience for those who drink is nil. Arianna, the coach’s daughter is a hot mess and made a big mistake. She has lost her friends, lost her drive to being an artist and life feels pretty low for her. She is full of remorse yet people like to remind her of her troubles. When she meets the infamous quarterback, there is a spark until he finds out who she is and thus she is persona non grata. Ares has no patience for drunks and thus labels Arianna as one. But along their way of being enemies, an encounter leads to a friendship which in turn leads to love. And when Ares needs to believe and trust in Arianna, he fails with flying colors, leaving Arianna to feel alone. While love is strong, not believing in the person can only lead to sorrow. Can Ares and Arianna overcome and trust each other again or will it only lead to heartbreak once again?

Book two in the Gods series was a wonderful enemies to lovers romance. It was angsty and very emotional. Ares and Arianna had feisty banter and steamy chemistry which made them a couple I was rooting for at all times. While each character has some issues to overcome, together they were stronger and a perfect fit. It’s just that sometimes the journey getting there is rocky and imperfect.

A beautiful read full of emotions and heartbreak, but full of passions, strength and hopefulness as well. Samantha Towle knows how to write and Rush is definitely a wonderful read.

Rush is one of those books that would be a good read while having a lazy day at the beach. A quick and easy read while soaking in the sunshine.
Samantha Towle is a lovely author and this book is nice. Ari, a recovering alcoholic, is the star of the book. The strength she exudes while full of self doubt is inspiring.
Buy the book and enjoy the second installment to the Gods series.

4-4.5 ⭐'s

Ares is the football player and Arianna is the coach's daughter so naturally, they are bound to get together. However, they have to get through a lot of passive aggression, misjudgment and outright anger instead.

Arianna (Ari) has made some mistakes in her life...mistakes she's taking full responsibility for and working on taking control of her life. The problem is that Ares knows exactly what her mistakes are and holds her more than accountable. Granted, he has his reasons why but he is still very hard on her.

Luckily for Ares, he has his sister, Missy, to thank for making him rethink his ways. This goes a long way in soothing things with Ari but that can only work so far.

description

The issue I had with Ares is that his misjudgment is a reoccurring problem. When he gets the facts, he apologizes saying he won't do it again but he does.

Ari does make him toe the line for a while. They both handled some things poorly and didn't exactly deal with things the best way but I felt that Ari was really trying to make herself a better person. I just wish that Ares gave her the benefit of the doubt especially with the drama at the end.

There's a bit of Zeus and Cam in the story and I really enjoyed getting to know Missy more. I'm hoping her book is next.

Full disclosure : I'm happy I read it even if it did have some issues.

Ares Kincaid is such an asshole. Like, the actual worst. The things he says to Arianna, the way he treats her in this book, it's difficult not to loathe him. I'm a reader that LOOOOOOOVES a good jerk. I love an alpha male whose sharp barbs and condescending attitude inevitably evolve into sexual tension and fierce attraction, whatever that says about me. But I have to admit, Ares made it really difficult to get on board with him at first because he truly takes EPIC JERK to a whole new level in the beginning of Rush. His rude comments and his brooding demeanor delivered those painful heart twinges I live for in a book and so, of course, I was addicted. And, inevitably, I fell hard and fast for the pro football player and I was absolutely swept away by the delicious enemies to lovers dynamic he finds himself in with his coach's daughter.

I love a love/hate dynamic between characters and Samantha Towle nailed it with Rush. These enemies turned lovers completely eviscerated my heart as they tossed insults back and forth, as the sexual tension disguised as venom oozed between them. I was transfixed. This story CONSUMED me from start to delicious finish. I couldn't put it down, devouring it in one sitting, and immediately I felt the need to go back and capture that pleasure pain all over again. Rush hurts so good, the tumultuous emotions and complicated storyline allow for a bumpy reading experience that pelts the reader with non-stop feels the entire way through.

There's some seriously heavy subject matter in this book. The characters in Rush have been touched by addiction, by mental illness, by familial strife, by romantic complications and broken hearts. The romance in this story might be light and sexy for the most part, with sexy scenes and flirty banter that gets a little cheesy in moments, maybe even a bit over the top and dramatic at others, but there is a heavier edge to this story that guarantees heartache and longing. Samantha Towle delivers the full package with Rush. It packs a serious punch of emotion, it's a deliciously complicated enemies to lovers sports romance, it's hopeful and uplifting but peppered with a good dose of drama and strife, and it's a satisfying page turner for readers looking for a delicious little romantic snack you'll want to devour in one shot. I enjoyed this story from beginning to end. The Gods series of interconnected standalones has fast become one of my top favorites from this author and I anxiously await what's to come of the rest of these characters.

WARNING! If you're mega-scared of spoilers - don't read my review! I tried not to spoil too much, but I guess I couldn't avoid some spoilishings. Some things had to be said. ☺

Arianne has been through a few very bad months. But now she's feeling much better. She's starting her new job! Her dad kinda created a position for her at the Giants' football team. Which he coaches.

She's been fired at her gallery job because she drunk-drove her cheating ex's car into a wall. And after she came out of rehab, nobody wanted to hire her - an alcoholic with a 'criminal' past.

And now she's here - working with/for one of the sexiest guys on the planet - Quarterback Ares!

description

But the idiot is mega mean to her. He hates alcoholics. Hashtag Daddy-Issues.

Ari is so proud of herself for surviving these last six months sober and this guy is looking at her like she killed his puppy.

Poor Ares grew up with an alcoholic father and he just hates those people and the lies they tell and the promises they make and never keep.

Could there ever be something romantic between him and Ari??

Because they have to be together for work a lot - and the sparks are flying. Angry, mad and very sexy sparks!

Let the fun times begin!!! ☺

What will happen with Ari & Ares?
Will there be a HEA?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺

Awww, that was adorable!!!

I love football romances!

There was almost no football in here but it was a really cute and sexy and funny and moving romance.

I'm a bit on Ares' side here with not liking alcoholics. That's a horrible thing to say, but I don't like them in my romances. Romances should be something to escape reality for a while. And alcoholism is too close to so many people. I'm lucky, I'm not touched by it in my life, but so many others are and I just think if a romance hero or heroine needs to have a problem, it should be something else. Something that's 'healable'. I don't want my book darlings to get their happy end with a but. There's always the chance/fear that she'll drink again one day. Just like with cancer survivors. I don't want to get a happy end only to be afraid what would happen to the fictional couple in a fictional future. I know, I'm mega weird!

IN SPITE of this alcohol thing it was a really adorable book.

Ares is sooo mega hot!!! Grrrrrr.

Even when he's mad at Ari.

description

Especially when he's mad at her!☺

And Ari tries so hard to have a good life. To find friends. And to not show her feelings for Ares too obviously. Adorable. Of course he can't resist her for all that long!

But the team's superstar with the coach's daughter?? Not going to be easy for those two!

I really loved reading it!

Can't wait for the next book ... Missy with Kaden?? GIMMEEEEE!!!!

RUSH was an adorable & funny & sexy & very moving romance with some very serious problems for our darlings. Run to your nearest amazon for your own Ares - this one is MINE!!! ☺

Some tiny little things I didn't like.... aside from that alcohol problem...

I hope I'm not spoiling too much, but at the 77% mark there comes this typical thing that authors often do. This way too obvious, stupid, ridiculous, avoidable unnecessary drama thing. I wanted to throw my kindle out the next window. And then it could've gotten cleared up pretty fast, but it was dragged out too long and too stubbornly. And the moment where the scene began ... Can I get you something to drink??? Really??? How can one person be sooo stupid and naive?!?! Ugh. BUT, we'll get that happy end of course - so it was just a tiny little bit of drama on the way. ☺

And then, just like in the first book. Or basically in any book by an English author that is set in America and filled with American people! But don't worry, that's just my reading weirdness.

I HATE the word AS. In the non-comparing meaning. You know the one I mean? The one that could be exchanged for a semicolon, a since or a because. (I couldn't pick up my son from school, as I had a mani-pedi appointment!) It's a British thing (and maybe a legal/official thing too) and obviously Sam is British, but the book and all its characters are American, so I hate that word in this book! No idea why, but I always hated it. I have never in my life heard a young American person use that word in conversations, so I don't want it in my books! Most books already use way too much written language instead of how normal people would really talk. So that AS thing is just too much for me.

And also, the book has mega-many British words and expressions in it. I don't get why an English author needs to create a book that's filled with Americans in America if they can't leave out the Britishness. Either get a good American editor!!! Or just put your book in a London world. Sorry, rant over. It just annoys me so much! I tried highlighting all the British words and expressions ... I lost count after 48 asses and cinemas and let's go to yours or mine et cetera.☺

No offense/offence ;) intented - I loved the book and I love all of Sam's books and all you other Brits out there - but please ... try!

P.S. ALL THAT ↑↑ doesn't mean that I hated the book - I LOVED ARES!!!! He's sooo cute and hot and sweet and the story was really adorable! But it could've been a bit better for my tastes. A bit different. Also. I would've loved it so much more if we could've gotten both POVs - not only Ari's :/

★4.5 STARS★

Arianna Petrelli’s new job comes with the chance of a fresh start. Never mind the fact she’s the disgraced daughter of NFL head coach of the New York Giants, her father has pulled some strings and secured a role for her as the teams assistant, whatever that means.

She’s insightful enough to realise the position has been created by way of means for her father to keep a close eye on her. But after hitting rock bottom with a DUI arrest, a stint in rehab and the loss of her dream job Ari is seizing the opportunity to get her life back on track.

Her first day on the job veers dramatically off course when she finds herself one on one with star quarterback Ares Kincaid. They have an easy back and forth which comes to a screeching halt when he discovers who she is, or more specifically, what she has done. She’s used to the looks of disgust she garners from her arrest, but admittedly his rejection stings more than most.

What Ari doesn’t know is that Ares hostility is borne from his own experiences with his alcoholic father. He thinks her callous and selfish and isn’t afraid to tell her so. It isn’t until Ares is forced to step in between an incident with her and her ex-boyfriend does he begin to see the real Ari. If he’s honest with himself even with his preconceived notions about her, he’s frustrated by how much he can’t stop thinking about her.

I loved that Ari had no hesitations in accepting accountability. She strove to maintain her sobriety and was focused on the betterment of herself, and because of this I was struck by how quickly I become emotionally attached to her.

The fiery beginning of their nemeses evolved into an intense and heartfelt relationship that I quickly became obsessed with. On par with the story it had depth and sentiment making it a highly enjoyable read.

Addictive, emotional and passionate, Rush is Samantha Towle at her best.

The hero's hateful behavior toward our heroine and her desperation for his approval at the beginning didn't make sense. There's no way two strangers would interact in such manners however much they are attracted to each other or the reasons behind their actions. So I tried to shake it off and enjoy the story. I'm glad I did, Samantha's writing works for me, she writes fast paced and to the point stories (it's not something I can say about the books I read lately) with crazy chemistry and great character development. Hero has his sweet moments but he was a jerk, and I'm not talking about his reaction to what happened after they were together. His behavior wasn't pretty, but understandable considering his history. And I loved what happened after. The whole experience gave our lovely heroine, who I wasn't her biggest fan before, a great opportunity to shine.

Ari’s life is very complicated. She got fired from her job, recently got a DUI and is fresh out of rehab. It’s been hard finding a new job once you have a police record, but lucky for her, her father is the coach for the New York Giants football team and has given her a job. Ari is an artist, one that hasn’t painted in a long time but an artist nonetheless, and she hates football, so she has no clue what she's going to do at this new job. But she is desperate for a second chance, and she might just find it in the arms of the star quarterback of the team.

Ares Kincaid is the golden boy of football. Gorgeous, kind and almost too perfect. But the moment he meets Ari he has nothing but bitterness towards her, making her feel less than, and not deserving of the second chance she desperately wants. The problem is Ares is actually very attracted to Ari, their chemistry is hot off the charts but trust issues might dampen the chances of love growing between them.

This story is really sweet but also passionate. I loved Ari's character, she was strong, and even when she felt down, she would get right back up. Ares was just YUMMY and HOT. They make the perfect couple. This was a delicious page-turner that I’m sure everyone will love.

Delicious! Like a dark chocolate that you want to lick clean. I do like Miss Towle works. And her works so far is very consistent. Romantic, with that tug of the heart that makes you swoon.

I wish this story was also told from Ares POV and not just Ari POV. And also more serious gorveling will be much better. I feel Ares does not have that chance to do groveling. I know he is an ass. But he is also a sweer loving hero just like other hero from Miss Towle.

I do enjoy this book.

I 've been dying for this book since I finished Ruin, Which seems like so long ago. Any way I 've been dying for more of the Kincaid family. Rush is Ares book the second oldest in the family. Ares is Giants star quarterback he's had his dream job now for 3 years and is luvin life. Things haven't alway been easy for Ares and his brothers and sister. There father has had a drinking problem since there mum past away. She him and Zeus have looked after Missy his sister and Lo his brother. Zeus has looked after them all. So family is really important to Ares they mean everything to him. His father is another story though he just can't forgive for what he has done when they all needed him the most. So when he finds a gorgeous in his locker room things start to look up until he realises who she is.

Arianna Petrelli has had a rough year well life but this year just too off the crap she was dealing with. She crash a car while drunk so getting arrested, getting a DUI and going to rehab wasn't the best thing to happen to her. But it's what she needed to get the backside into gear. Life has been lonely for Ari her father hasn't been there for her and ex boyfriend cheated on her which made her get into the crash the car and get the DUI. She doesn't blame anyone but herself she didn't see herself getting out of control. But now she was getting her life in track she had a lil apartment and had a new job working with her dad has his assistant. Her dad was the head Coach at the Giants. It wasn't her dream but she would deal with it until she get herself sorted. The day she started her job things didn't really go to plan for them then she had to deal the hot but angry Ares Kincaid.

Things didn't go well for these two in the beginning. Alcoholic are not the people that Ares wants to deal with his father has been the most trusting person in his life. So knowing what Ari had done made him do like her. My heart went out to Ari she has had to deal with so much crap growing up she doesn't need Ares giving her crap as well. She has to deal with her own guilt everyday she doesn't need the reminder from him. She doesn't have much support and needs friends. It's very hard to break Ares when he has his mind set on something he is so stubborn. But God is this guy hot. He's so sexy strong moody and protective I just really want him. I was crazy about Zeus in this first book in this series but Ares is just had hot. He did have me cursing him in parts of this book the way he was with Ari. But I had to forgive him the way he luvd Ari was the sweetest thing and she needed someone to understand and protect her. Ari is a strong woman and fights her demons everyday. Life isn't easy for her and I think I got a lil protective of her throughout this book. I really like her character I just want to hug her.

I really really enjoyed this book it was brilliant. I m a big fan of this author her books just keep getting better and better. The first in this series Ruin is my favourite Samantha Towle book ever. Which was hard cause I luv Jake Wethers, But Zeus is just amazing. So Ares had a lot to live you to and he did. The book is just has good as the first I wouldn't say better cause Zeus is my man. But I luvd everything about this book. I couldn't put it down once I started it the storyline in the book was brilliant and it had me shouting at my kindle at times. I would highly recommend this book I luvd it.

Here's me after finishing reading this book:

To say that I cried my eyes out for more than half of the book, it's an understatement. I literally felt my heart breaking. I felt every ounce of Ari's pain and I truly admire this heroine for being so brave and strong, especially when her loved ones were major assholes.

LOVED! LOVED! LOVED this book!!!

I adore Samantha's stories and was super stoked when I found out Ares was getting a book! I basically read this book from start to finish! I knew I was going to love this story, but it was so much MORE than what I expected and I couldn't be happier!!!

THE. FEELS. Oh god my heart! So many emotions! This girl is so alone, my heart broke. I cried for her. I just wanted to reach through my kindle and hug her.

The hot and steamy scenes were off the charts! The banter was epic. God, he was such a dick at first, then he came around and I loved him even MORE. I really do have a weakness for assholes! I LIVE for the moment they redeem themselves. And Ares did that repeatedly. GOD, I feel all gushy over this love story! I couldn't get enough!

If you love sexy and emotional stories that will make you feel all of the things and then some, then you must read RUSH! It's the PERFECT beach read!

All the feels!!!!!

I’ve recently discovered Samantha Towle and have become a fan! Loved this one so much, it had so many feels. I loved Ari, she was so strong and loved how she overcame her issues and came out on top. I loved how everything developed with Ares and how she made him work hard after he wasn’t so nice. I also loved the development of her relationship with her dad. Great story! Absolutely recommend.

The audiobook is also fantastic!

2.5 stars

If I hear the word "babe" one more time I might scream.
Also, Ares was a moron.
Idk, I feel like half the time I liked it but I was annoyed the other half.

4 Stars!

He was a star quarterback and she's the recovering alcoholic.
There was a lot that i liked about this story. I liked how raw Arianna's character seemed. From her working situation, to her relationship with her Dad, her struggles with her recovery, her art, and her honesty. It's all out there.

Ares had to overcome some of his impressions of Ari and that was a struggle for him having had the issues with his Dad. He was making great strides and damn he hit a wall and that was sad. I wanted to be there for Ari so much and was so pissed at Ares at that point. But I was proud of what Ari had accomplished and with the proper amount of space and time, understanding and some groveling they were able to be better together.

ARC received for an honest review

I have been looking forward to this second book in the Gods series since I finished Ruin. I am not a fan of American football at all, but I knew I was going to adore Ares book.

And that I did. I was not expecting Ares and Arianna's story to be quite so emotional. I would be reading and BAM - my eyes would start leaking!

Ares and Ari are both a little broken, both with baggage, both emotionally dragged down.

I freaking adored Ari - for all her past weaknesses, she is strong. She is still fighting her addictions, and doing it with her head held high.

Ares - gah, I have a love/hate relationship with him. He can be so wonderful, but then he can just be such a d!ck His stubborness got frustrating, and I just wanted to throw my kindle at his head to make him come to his senses. His douchebagerry fought it out with his protectiveness.

In the words of Elsa from Frozen, he needed to just "let it go".

I was drawn into this story right from the start. Emotional. Heartfelt. Heartbreaking and hopeful. Rush had a bit of it all.

I can't wait to see which of the "Gods" Ms Towle brings us next.
