I'm a USA Today bestselling author who LOVES the hot stuff, both to read and to write. My favorite obsessions are all things coffee, almost everything on HGTV, and dreaming up new stories.

Catching Midnight: They are the upyr, part wolves, part blood-drinking immortals. During the plague, they rescue an orphan and carry her into the Scottish wood to live as one of them. Blossoming, Gillian revels in the pleasures of the flesh and the hunt, but her heart yearns for the human world. Taking a falcon's form, Gillian escapes her keepers-only to be caught by Aimery Fitz Clare, a mortal nobleman. He could be the savior she's looking for...unless she loses her heart to him.

Luisa's Desire tells of a child of midnight who has arrived at a spiritual refuge in Tibet. Far from her normal immortal life, Luisa is surrounded by simplicity and self-denial. Here, she hopes to expunge her dangerous desires. But when she meets the monk who can save her, Luisa realizes she's only beginning to understand what desire is

This is actually to short stories linked by a common otherworldly race Holly calls Upyr, which are a combination of werewolf and vampire.
The first story is set in 1370 Scotland, and reminded me of the movie: "Lady Hawk."
The second story is set in 1600,Tibet. This story is a little more sensual as Holly describes some elements of Tantric practices.

Both stories are well written and fun to read.

Two stories are in here. The first, Catching Midnight, which is labeled Midnight #2, is not quite as good as #3. The second, which comes from the collection Fantasy and is titled Luisa's Desire, is Midnight #1 and is excellent.

This has books 1 & 2 of the Upry Series. The first book Catching Midnight gets you started with the Upry lifestyle back in the 1300's. The second book Luisa's Desire jumps to the 1600's and is solely about one Upry's journey. It is a short story. The next book jumps back to the 1300's.
