Beginning with Creation, The Advent Storybook invites your family on a beautiful, chronological journey through ancient stories, tracing God’s faithful promise to send a Rescuer—Jesus. Each of the 25 Bible stories begins with a key verse and ends with a thoughtful question, helping you and your children think and talk about the reason we celebrate Jesus’ birth.
This year, begin a new Christmas tradition. Create memories your family will cherish. Sit down together and remember how much we need a Rescuer—and how amazing it is that He came!
A nice advent devotional that works its way through the OT is show how Christ came into the world to save sinners. The artwork was very good and at the end of each reading was a small discussion questions to help engage your kids in what the story was meant to teach. I read it to my 3 year old daughter who didn't quite understand the questions so I look forward to reading it again next year where we can get more out of it.
Stumbled across this little book recently. I was rummaging around trying to figure out what to record myself reading for the kids at church, and up cropped this book, "The Advent Storybook". It has a short reading for every day from 1 December to 25 December. The illustrations are fresh, and the retelling of God's story from day 1 until the coming of his Son, are delightful. At the end of each day there is a question or two for you to discuss with your kids. I recorded myself reading all 25 days (go to YouTube and look for my channel Michael Philliber. It's under the playlist with this book's title). This is ideal for parents and grandparents to read with their kids.
I bought this to read to my 2yo daughter for Christmas. We started a bit before Advent and read about half of it before Christmas Eve (I'm forgetful). It's a good book but it's written for older children. Most of it went over her head. And there were some stupid phrases like where "special friendship promise" was used to substitute "covenant." I was told this was for small children but the age range is 4-8. I enjoyed reading it to my daughter and explaining things like the fall and how we are all in need of a Saviour. But if you buy this for a small child, be ready to paraphrase. A lot.
This was good, and it began in Genesis on day 1, ending with the birth of Christ. I like that it laid down the entire path pointing to Jesus as foretold King, but for my part I prefer an advent daily devotional that sits in the New Testament, especially one I’m reading with my littles. Just preference. It was beautifully illustrated.
This one was beautifully illustrated. It has questions to talk about with your children. We enjoyed it! There is a clear focus on scripture...this isn't a kiddie book that is dumbed down or an inspirational book about ourselves. It is about Biblical stories 🙌 I would say the age range is 4-8.
This book is amazing for children and adults! If you're looking to feel the spirit around the Christmas holiday, this book is for you. I absolutely love it!!! I needed this read more than I knew. Thank you to the author!
Fine little Bible storybook, but only the last couple days are Christmas. Which is fine, but not much different from other Bible storybooks. Not quite what I was after.
(5☆ Would recommend & would read again) Such an amazing book! This book has become an Advent tradition with our kids. The stories are easy to read and the perfect length for bedtime. The stories portray the Gospel so well.
