Fatal Flirtation is the thirteenth installment in Hope Callaghan’s awesome Cruise Ship Christian Cozy Mysteries Series. Every time I pick up one of Ms. Callaghan’s books, I know I’m going to love it and Fatal Flirtation did not disappoint me. This is a well thought out and interesting mystery, with lots of things going on. The affable characters are well developed and the book flows smoothly and at a steady pace, with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader engaged. I highly recommend this clean, well-crafted cozy mystery series as well as all Ms. Callaghan’s other books.

Millie Sanders-Armati loves her job as assistant cruise director on Siren of the Seas, her friends, as well as waking up with her wonderful new husband, Captain Nic Armati. Millie never knows what to expect each time a new group of travelers board the cruise ship, but she does know she won’t be bored. This cruise has the makings to be extremely exciting because not only are her new friends, Nadia and Regan Leclerc, scheduled to join them, but also several large and potentially rowdy groups will be on board, and there’s a hurricane brewing in the Atlantic. Turnaround day for the Siren of the Seas starts with Andy Walker, Millie’s boss and the ship’s cruise director, waking her up before her alarm clock that is set for five-thirty a.m. goes off. The reason for Andy’s early morning call was an emergency meeting regarding the expected rough weather and potential change of plans if the storm continued on its current path. Several members of the Turner Family Reunion group are loud and obnoxious and they, along with a few random passengers, turn out to be troublemakers, and the Siren of the Seas experiences rough waters. Even Scout, Nic and Millie’s adorable teacup Yorkie, suffers from the stormy seas. Fights break out, two passengers are placed under cabin arrest, and one of the security guards in charge of keeping an eye on two of the most disruptive passengers is injured. Sharky Kiveski, the night shift maintenance supervisor, finds the security guard, Micah Reyes, on the hall floor near the medical center and sadly, Micah dies on the way to the hospital. Danielle Kneldon, Millie’s old roommate, gets into a confrontation with one of the passengers. Dave Patterson, the head of security, isn’t sharing information, so Millie and her friends, including Nadia, and she even recruits a handsome young crewmember to help.

Fatal Flirtation by Hope Callaghan was another fun and clean cozy mystery on board the Siren of the Seas. Millie, Annette, Cat and Danielle have their hands full as this time they have a ship filled to capacity and a rowdy family reunion. I love this series and can't wait to read the next one.

Millie is getting use to married life, but not so good with a hurricane coming their way. The cruise line wants the ship to keep going. On top of that they have a huge family reunion to "Turners' coming on board. Not to mention other groups like the Knitters.

When two guest are on cabin arrest the security guard that was guarding them is found dead inn the hallway near the doctors office.

Which guest was involved or was it more than 1? The gang starts their own investigation.

Love seeing what trouble Millie is going to get into.
This is one of the best series.

This 13th book in the series tells a complete story and could stand alone, but there are references to earlier books. Since this is the first of the series I've read, I can't say what you miss from earlier books, but the references imply the previous books contribute to Millie's backstory as well as backstories of some of her shipmates. Apparently she falls in love and marries the Captain in an earlier book (10 or 11?)

The subtitle calls this a Christian book, so I shelved it as such, but there is no preaching, at least in this book. The only references to faith are her sincere prayers at various times usually for other people such as hurricane victims.

This is a lighthearted mystery and it is a fairly quick read. I didn't see whodunnit until about the time of the reveal. There seemed to be clues, but I can't say they were obvious. There are hints of potential romance, but since Millie is already married, it's not her, and the seeds of the one hinted haven't sprouted yet and maybe never will.

I was disappointed that Millie condones and encourages what is technically sexual harassment since the "victim" says several times in several ways that she wishes the man would leave her alone. While she doesn't turn her wishes into a formal complaint, and maybe, just maybe, she isn't as adverse as she makes it sound, for anyone familiar with sexual harassment law, there is no question it fits and it disappoints me that in the age of #MeToo this subject is treated lightly. Anytime a woman is uncomfortable in a situation like this, especially if she expresses that discomfort, Millie should be stopping it or even reporting it, not encouraging it.

Millie, like so many other amateur detectives in fiction, is sneaky and bends, if not completely breaks, rules and laws. The story does a good job of obfuscating any suspicion that she isn't giving full attention to her real job. Her bosses are pretty laid back about it, but then there are apparently 12 previous instances where her detective skills paid off. Millie is not as bad about it, or as oblivious to danger, as many such amateurs. But where are the police? Would there really not be anyone else in charge besides the ship's security chief?

Mature themes: other than my last comment there really isn't any. There is a dead man. There isn't any sex at all. There are a few fights.

I have to admit this: I’m a fan of clean, sweet cozy mysteries. There are times that I like to read lighter, shorter books just for the enjoyment of following the twists and turns of the story. If the book has funny, quirky, lovable characters, that makes it even better. These books are usually priced just right so it’s affordable to follow along in the series.

This series, which follows Millie and her friends on their cruise ship, is one of my favorites. The mystery is always not one that you can solve from the very beginning. I enjoyed this latest installment as it fit all that I’ve listed above.

Hope Callaghan knows what her readers like and she never disappoints. If you want your mysteries to always be scary and suspenseful, these probably aren’t the books for you. These are simply fun stories to read, and I look forward to the next one!

All of Hope’s stories are always clean and sweet, with no bad language or embarrassing scenes.

This is my 13th book in the series I just finished this morning and I just downloaded and started the 14th immediately while on the commuter bus this morning.

I was a bit annoyed that there was not an omnibus set of three (14-14-15) so I now have to buy them individually since I finished the first 4 volumes of the Cruise Ship Christian Cozy Mysteries.

I get lost, during my morning and evening bus commutes, in the adventures of Mille Sanders Armati and live vicariously through her. She is so charming, intuitive and smart that it would behoove her boss Andy to just let her go and work for Security and be done with it. She always get to the bottom of the situation even before Patterson does.

There is life after divorce no matter what your age and Millie proves it (LOL)

If you are a cozy mystery fan and are interested in life on a cruise ship you can't go wrong with this series.

Review of this book.

Another well thought out story. The reader really needs to be on their toes to keep up with the subtle clues. The story took several detours to further distract the reader. The author definitely knows how to write a thrilling mystery story. I have enjoyed reading all the books in this series so far. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. This author is a fantastic writer. She knows what she is doing, and has carefully plotted out each story. The continuity of the books is without any flaws, and new characters are brought into the book with full background explanations. The reader is able to follow the story without wondering who the author is writing about. This makes the books an absolute delight to read.

Another Good Mystery In An Entertaining Environment

I have read all the books in this series so far and have really enjoyed reading about life working on a cruise ship, as well as enjoying the mysteries. I like that of course most of the crew members are the same on each voyage, but most of the passengers are new each week. So it is relatively easy to bring in new villains and victims on each voyage and still have the same cast of resourceful crime fighters on hand. So far the author has been able to bring in quite a variety of both villains and victims, and made the plots seem plausible once you know the outcome, without being overly obvious.

One of the best in the series

Millie and the crew set sail with an upcoming storm headed their way that they hope to out run. They miss the worst of the storm but get bounced around in high seas for 24 hours. At the same time they have a family reunion of a large group of passengers who turn out to be very troublesome. A security guard is beaten up and dies on the way to the hospital. Millie dives into the investigation with her normal posse.
A fun read and I look forward to reading the next book

A page turning cruise ship mystery with our hard working newly wed sleuth Millie, a hurricane, an unruly Turner family, a group of Nutty Knitters, plus a luscious Cinnamon Roll recipe. Book 13 of A Cruise Ship Mystery presents a more in-depth look into the various cruise ship characters and their positions aboard the Siren of the Seas, unexpected conflicts keeps the reader reading until one reaches the satisfy conclusion; but always hoping for more adventures. A delightful series and mystery.

Maybe no more cruises for me!

It seems that Siren of the Seas has more than its share of murders onboard. Millie and friends figure out the mysteries and the bad guys are apprehended. I have experienced one cruise impacted by two hurricanes, so I could relate to this book's telling of high seas and barf bags. 😎 It was a thoroughly enjoyable read! Well done, Hope! The cinnamon rolls sound delish, too.

I have been following Millie through this entire series and that gives me an even greater appreciation for her. However, you could read this book and enjoy it even if it was the first one in the series that you picked up.
They are at sea in a very serious hurricane, there are fights with an unruly family reunion, and Millie does what she does best and solves the crime in addition to being a wonderful assistant cruise director!

I have basically read this entire series (17 books so far, I think)...they are fun and fluffy and clean. I love the Christian aspect, I love the CRUISING aspect, and the characters are pretty likable...
(though admittedly, I sometimes roll my eyes at Millie getting involved once more in something or someplace she has no business being---but since that is the premise of the entire series...there you have it!) Enjoyable "summer" read, all year round.

Like cinnamon buns? They are the food of choice for this book. Orange juice added to cream cheese icing, etc.

A hurricane, the Turner Family, and a new destination are topics cover3d as the crew search for why a Security person was assaulted. Interesting theme with lots of high tempers, stalking and of course, the devastation of the hurricane.

Changes are hinted at for the ship and crew; when it happens and where they will cruise is being kept close with a need to know for a select few.

Losing Steam

Maybe it’s me but I’m finding that the last couple of books, including this one, rather boring. I love Millie and the rest of the crew but more suspense and intrigue would be appreciated. Also, please delve more into Cat’s character. No matter what, I will continue my voyage on Sirens of the Sea. Besides, given this pandemic it may be awhile before I set foot on a cruise ship.

I recently discover hope Callaghan and I read the first 12 books of her cruise ship series. I loved everyone. I connected with Millie right away and couldn't get enough. I love all the characters in this series.the only bad part about this book is now I have to wait for book 14 to come out or maybe go back and reread the series.

Millie and her hubby got to welcome aboard the nice couple who’d given them such an amazing time at their resort for a honeymoon. But now the resort was in danger due to the coming hurricane as was everything in its way, so the Captain and his team had their hands full. Millie had her own issues with some difficult and crazy passengers (not fun crazy either!) there for a family reunion. They definitely kept Dave Patterson and his security team busy!

As always, Millie and her pals sleuthed it out, and we got some more comic relief from good old Sharky, head of maintenance who’s carrying a torch for Millie’s friend, Annette. The showdown was a good one and Millie managed to coerce a confession from the perp. Maybe Millie should work for security! Captain Nic would be crazy about his wife no matter what job she did.
