Wonderful collection - the scriptural accounts of the Christmas story lead off, followed by excerpts from A Christmas Carol, Little Women, and The Pickwick Papers, excellent short stories from O. Henry and Hans Christian Andersen, as well as carols, poetry, even a Sherlock Holmes mystery. Fun and beautiful pieces alike in this volume.

This is a marvelous book to curl up with on a cozy December evening, especially if snow is swirling outside. There are excerpts from favorite adult Christmas stories, the full text of a selection of carols, some nostalgic recipes.... It's great to dip into during the busy holiday season when I can't settle in for a long read.

Oh what fun to reread the Christmas classics in this compact edition. This ought to be a tradition in itself. The selections give you deeper and better perspectives of the holidays.
