BAD BROWS is a humorous picture book that follows Bernard when he wakes up for a day with brows that won't behave. Bernard had never really thought much about his eyebrows before, but when they start to misbehave and do wacky things, he realizes how important they are to his expressions. The book is full of colorful illustrations with cartoonish scenes of the brows acting wild.

What I loved: This book is funny and will definitely make kids laugh. The scenes with the brows are a little wild, but this makes it humorous. The overall message about what eyebrows do for us is cute and illustrates how we use them to express our feelings. The illustrations are full of fun and take the brows in unique directions that use a lot of imagination. I also appreciated the diversity of characters; for instance how Bernard seems to be bi-racial, with his parents having different skin tones and the principal of the school being Black.

What left me wanting more: As a small point, I am not fond of equating misbehaving with bad, as children may do some of the things the brows do (act silly in photos, spill other's ice cream, or make a mess), but this does not mean they are bad.

Final verdict: A silly book, BAD BROWS is a humorous picture book about the importance of eyebrows. Elementary school-aged readers will laugh at this imaginative story.

Synposis: In this bizarre picture book, Bernard's eyebrows go 'bad' and developing a mind of their own! They start behaving in odd ways and forming peculiar, funny, even outlandish shapes on his forehead. He has no idea what is happening and tries to control them, to no avail. He is even sent home from school for inappropriately making faces. He attempts to fix them by splashing water on them, getting them cut, and even goes to the doctor for help. They are 'dangerous', 'dastardly', and 'downright disgusting' until ultimately his original eyebrows return from vacation and reclaim their spot on his forehead! But where did these eyebrows even come from and where did they go?

Uses: Pure silly fun - some kids really enjoy the ridiculous and this book is for them!

My family has loved this author ever since How To Train A Train.

His books are funnier than pretty much any other book out there. Remember when kids books used to be fun? Eaton feels like a throwback to an older time when kids books weren't so serious. This is a great story time read! Big recommend.

Loved this! The illustrations were priceless. My coworker and I especially liked the retro interior design in one of the scenes. Really cute story.

I loved the concept, but for some reason felt a little disappointed by the lack of an explanation around the whole situation. The resolution felt way too convenient. Even for a picture book.

My favorite line in the book, "That would be silly." You'll just have to read it to understand :)
I'm a fan of exaggeration and exaggerated illustrations. :)
