An old woman makes a gingerbread man. He jumps out of the oven and runs out of the house. He runs away from the old woman, the old man, a cow, a horse, and a fox. They all want to catch the gingerbread man, but they can't catch him. Then he comes to a river. Oh, no! He can't swim.

Read with my Turkish host family's children. I've never liked this story. The gingerbread man is a little twerp and I hate how the fox tricks him. Probably my least favourite of all the classic children's tales.
