Dangerous Liaisons

Rate this book
Los Angeles' D Platoon is the most prestigious SWAT team in the country, drawing the best police officers from LA and around the United States, including Zeke Nolan and his best friend, Anakoni Lewis. The two of them grew up together in Hawaii, but when a hostage situation at a library goes south, an inside job is suspected, and all the evidence points to Anakoni. Will Zeke choose his best friend over the evidence, or does the evidence actually point somewhere else? Cristian Del Toro, known as Bull by his colleagues, is the team leader of a rival squad. He's only been team leader for six months, and has something to prove. He and Zeke start out as rivals, and it is Bull who leads the operation at the library. As the mystery deepens, though, he and Zeke get closer, realizing they really aren't all that different. The two of them bond over their love of the sea, the love of the job, and the punishment they both face for the botched library job. Bull is determined to prove that it wasn't simply a bad decision on his part. With Zeke's help, will the two of them find out what really happened, even if it means implicating his best friend? Or will Bull's suspicion of Anakoni drive a wedge between them? Please Note: This book contains adult language & steamy adult activities, it is intended for 18+ Adults Only. Novel, approx. 30,000 words in length. HEA (happy ever after ending). Does not end with a "cliffhanger."

Danger and Family

Bull and Zeke are on opposite D teams on S.W.A.T. units both in charge and kind of rivals, but not nasty about it.

After a job goes bad they are sent to training together which ends with Bull in the hospital from heat stroke. He'd already been there once. Zeke stays with him until he gets out. They both feel something was fishy with the library hold up and start digging.

They get close hanging out and sexual things as well. At first its thought Zeke's best friend was involved with the library since they know was inside job. Thankfully the S.W.A.T team members are clear. However who it is was only slight surprise to me by way they were acting.

Really loved the mix of action and sex in this. Bull's dog was cute. I wanted to find something I watched clips of the tv show S.W.A.T. because of Rocker and really needed a gay S.W.A.T leader so was told about this. It brought just what I needed and then some. Zeke and Bull were great and the birthday party surprise epic.

No development insta-love, with no chemistry

Being a native Californian, I find there are way too many wrong and out of place references in this book to be credible or believable. Add to that, the fact the 2 MC's do an insta-love with no chemistry, and there is little substance to recommend the book. At least the author did the foreshadowing and red herring parts well. That and the fact that these guys seem to be average looking instead of the usual, and unbelieveable, runway model type of looks. The erotic/sex scenes were stereotypically gay if not banal.

Okay

This was an okay story. I had a pretty difficult time rrally getting into the story. The story felt a bit choppy and it did not flow. But that is my opinion. Also the mystery just fizzled out.
