Althea Yates is a vampire hunter, skilled with the crossbow and the stake. But she knows nothing of a man’s touch—or how to control the unladylike dreams that haunt her sleep. That is when they come, two men of unearthly beauty who ravish her in sweet carnal games, taking her to the precipice of exquisite desire and unimaginable erotic pleasure. It is scandalous. Forbidden. Unholy. For her lovers are not men, but vampires—the very beasts she and her father have sworn to destroy.
It is only a dream…until the elegant carriage arrives at the inn, drawn by four black horses. Until Yannick de Wynter, Earl of Brookshire, alights, silver-eyed, determined, and hungry for something she cannot name. And suddenly, Althea is no longer certain whether she has had a dream… or a dangerously erotic premonition…

Blood red describes the love affair between a vampire hunter, Althea, and her two demon lovers: Yannick and Sebastian. Having grown up on True Blood, Coppola's Dracula, and Twilight, I love vampires and paranormal romance. This is one sexy romance. For me, I think vampires are the sexiest paranormal creatures. To be honest, I wasn't sure about the menage aspect among brothers. If they were humans, I would not have read it. Sleeping with brothers, simultaneously no less, is just a bit too much for me. I guess because they were vampires, I was able to get around the idea. It dragged a bit in the middle at around 40%. Then, it got exciting from 50% to the end. It was definitely a hot read.

DNF at 44%. Shelving this so I don’t read it again. Has a fun cover but the book is a little flowery, and the chemistry isn’t there, and the plot action isn’t gripping. Sharon Page has written other paranormal romances as well as what appears to be spicy historical romances, so I’ll see what else Page has up her sleeve!
Maidensby, Yorkshire, 1818 Sir Edmund Yates and his daughter Althea are vampire hunters and came to Maidensby to resurrect a very powerful vampire whose help is needed to destroy an evil and ancient vampire once and for all. When Althea starts having erotic dreams about two men she´s scandalized and really disturbed when suddenly one night Yannick de Wynter, Earl of Brookshire arrives and she recognizes him as one of the men of her forbidden dreams. Yannick is a vampire and the brother to Bastien de Wynter who Althea and her father want to free from his crypt. At first sight Yannick is drawn to Althea and is determined to make her hot dreams come true. When Bastien is brought back he at once wants to make Althea his and the competition between the two brothers begins... This is a very erotic historical romance with a quite intriguing plot. The competition of the brothers for Althea´s affection leaves her breathless and confused about her own feelings. Loving two men is difficult enough but two vampires? Bastien is the "bad boy" in this novel, emotionally torn between his new love to Althea and his old love to his former lover and maker Zayan who he has to destroy together with his brother. Whom will he choose? Yes, there is gay sex in this book, it´s highly erotic but very romantic too. One thing what made me roll my eyes though was the sex or thinking about sex in scenes where action and excitement should have been the main part. It seemed ridiculous to me having only sex in your mind being in a dangerous situation. Less would have been more in this case. Nonetheless I enjoyed reading the novel and ... all´s well that ends well..lol!
First I want to say that this book was the first I don’t finished. Unfortunately I have to say that I don’t like this book.
The story is very thin, well in my opinion there isn’t a story. Two vampire brothers, one virgin and her father who want to kill the brothers as soon as they killed a very strong vampire.
And then, many many sex scene in this book. Yes, it is a erotic roman, but it was too much. Althea don’t know one of the vampire brothers, but she let the vampire Yannick in her room the first day they meet each other. And as soon as her brother is awake, it’s the same with him. The brothers fight who sleeps first with Althea. And so on… it’s a kind of way I don’t like. The dialogs in this book are very primitive.
Good was that the author write open minded about sex between men because usually this is a taboo for many writer.
But all in all I have to say that I don’t like this book.I was very disappointed.
I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. It really has a bit of all sexual avenues in it (M/M/F, M/M, F/F, Orgy, and even a little BSDM) and I found that they all were done in a very tasteful manner. Not once did I feel disconnected from the romance aspect of the story and that is normally what seems to happen when I read a book centered on a threesome romance. It contains a M/M scene that is very intriguing with a bit of voyeur kink. All in all I liked it a lot! It has a really good storyline and the characters all have some depth to them. The Demon Twins are HOTT and tragically in need of the love that they find with Althea. The ending though a bit heavy on the HEA, I still really liked because who doesn't love a great happy ending!
I looked up this book for a GR friend that wants to read a vampire erotic book. This one instantly came to mind. It's been at least a year since I read it the first time. I'd say it's pretty damned good if I remembered it for that long.
Review - Oh hell, it's staged in Europe in the Edwardian Era I'm guessing.
Basically - extremely hot vampires and sex, sex and, oh yeah, sex. Really GOOD sex.
This book was story light & bow chikka wow heavy, and unfortunately I just wasn't in the mood for it right now. And I really hate the use of words like I think I actually threw up in my mouth at that point :(
3.5 stars. It took me about a week to read, which is very abnormal for me and I was just kind of read to get thru it. I did like it, it just wasn't phenomenal.
I loved the dynamics between the de Wynter twins and Althea. The yin and yang-best of both worlds-have your cake and eat it too...you get the picture. When the big mystery surrounding the twins was uncovered, it didn't think it was all that fantastic.
Althea is the virginal (of-course) vampire hunter who is captivated by these gorgeous strangers in her dreams. She is stunned to discover that these are not just dreams, but premonitions.
Bastien is the tormented twin. He is every woman's bad boy, freak in the sheets fantasy. The one who would tie you up, spank your a$$ and then kiss it and make it better...he can dish it as well as he could take it. In contrast, Yannick is the more cultured, older by a minute twin--the one who has inherited the title of "Earl". Yannick is tender, respectful and gentlemanly. The two men together are known for their sexual prowess and as a result are dubbed "The Demon Twins". Who will Althea choose? Can she only have one?
Sharon Page’s book Blood Red is basically 347 pages of sex scenes linked together by a plot that is so nonsensical, I stopped paying attention to it.
Althea Yates is a vampire hunter in England circa 1818. For a while now she’s been having these strange and highly erotic dreams and she is shocked when, one night at the inn where she and her father are staying, one of the men in her dreams (there’s two, naturally) shows up.
He’s Yannick. A perfect specimen. But drat, he’s a vampire.
His brother, Sebastien (known as Bastien in the novel) is also a vampire. Together they are known as The Demon Twins. And once Althea and her father release Bastien from his tomb, where he’s been languishing these last ten years, he and Yannick set about introducing virginal (but up for just about anything) Althea to the delights of the flesh.
Yannick and Bastien aren’t like any vampires I’ve ever encountered. Soulless they may be, but they never kill for food, they can shoot bolts of coloured energy from their hands and they have a reflection. Apparently they have a few other vampire tricks up their sleeves, too.
Reading Blood Red was like eating a bowl of chips - absolutely no redeeming nutritional value, but tasty enough.
This book was nothing more than dragged out sex. I couldn't even get into the story because the main characters back story were little to none, therefore I cannot feel for any of the characters. I was not dragged into the story emotionally either. Usually the author tries to get the readers to understand the main character(s) by being able to relate somehow. I felt detached while reading this book, It was like I was reading the newspaper. I couldn't even finish it I was so bored and disappointed. I read various types erotic novels but this book is just a really long Porno...and not a very good one.
I randomly found this book and I am so glad I did. I like vampire books, but this one was a little different. And I did find it a little weird that I liked this one, considering the time frame (I don't' like "historical books") but maybe that's because it was easy to overlook it. The writing was great and the characters were well-developed.
This is the second time that I have read this book. Extremely hot. Not to be left around where the children can find it. I love the Demon Twins. I am so glad that I don't have to choose between them because it would be an impossible choice for me.
No, v tomto případě měli čitatelé jednoznačnou pravdu :).
There was no plot, even when it tried to have one. The very quick way it introduced the evil vampire and the just as fast way it was dealt with, wasn't even worth it. It was like; oh, hey, here's the bad guy that the reader has never heard about (over 100 pages into the book) and then we're just not really going to do anything with him until near the end and then have everything resolved in a few pages. Yeah, there was no plot. Just FMC running around going "oh, I love two vampires" and both of the MMC going "she's so innocent and I don't deserve her love." Ugh. This reads like it was wrote in the mid 1990s not early 2000s. No plot, no likable characters, and everything just resolved in a few pages. Oh, and let's not forget that at the end, with like less than 10 pages left, vampires can have babies, but we don't get an explanation or anything, because, you know, the book just ends. Don't waste your time, there are much better reads out there.
Blood Red was a surprisingly addictive read. It combines vampires, romance, and plenty of steamy scenes with an intriguing fantasy storyline. I really enjoyed the chemistry between the characters, and the world-building kept me interested throughout the book. While the romance is definitely the main focus, there was enough mystery and action to keep the story engaging. If you enjoy paranormal romance with passionate relationships and a darker atmosphere, this book is definitely worth picking up.
A neustále má s oběma najednou sex.

Well, I can't say that Althea is much of a vampire-hunter, although I suppose she did find them, or they found her, in her bed. The twins, Yannick & Bastien de Wynter, are an amusing pair. A bit of fun & frolics all round. Good for you, Althea!
This is a very steamy read. A lot of sexual activity can slightly take over the story. However the story I think is good with a very happy ending. Great read
