David is a broken alpha. When his mate was kidnapped years ago during the war, his life turned upside down. David knew in his heart that his lover was dead. Now a cold-hearted and pessimistic man, the only thing David has are his close friends in the pack. But during a heated fight between Indigo Mountain and Scarlet Ridge, the alpha of the enemy pack drops a bombshell on David.
His mate is still alive. The catch? To see his beloved again, David must join the enemy - and that’s exactly what he does. David will do anything to see his mate again. But when they finally reunite, David’s heart shatters.
Niko doesn’t remember him.
Alpha’s Choice is a 33k word second-chance story with steamy scenes, a HEA, and no cliffhangers. It is the fourth book in the Indigo Mountain pack series and can be read as a standalone, but is best enjoyed in series order.
Hawke is a M/M author who loves the world of MPREG and shifters. In his spare time he enjoys hiking with his dog, hanging out with his boyfriend, and playing video games.
This is the best book in the series! I could not put it down. We finally got a glimpse of Scarlet Ridge Pack and, man, it is scary! I mean, Gunner has to go and take a hike somewhere far far away! He is surprisingly still alive! Why do bad people always survive like roaches?!
The way the relationship between Niko and David progresses is so sweet, Niko at first so vulnerable and David so crushed changes so much throughout the book and they both become stronger. I am glad they had allies and who they were was a total surprise. I did not expect those two! But it made sense in the end and I hope they will have a story of their own.
The plot was very good, the book fast paced and not a minute forced. It all was easy flowing, the story so fascinating. A lot of curious information that helped to make sense about things in the previous books that I wondered about. So, I highly recommend it. It was a very good book! Mr Oakley did a wonderful job! Thank you!
An interesting addition to this series, Alpha's Choice is a fun read but the story started very abruptly and as I hadn't read book 3 I was trying to figure out what was happening. It would have made more sense to have had at least the end of the fight between the two packs at the start of this book so there is a frame of reference. David leaves his pack when the leader from the Scarlet Ridge pack entices him with the scent of the mate he thought had been dead for years. He is horrified when he arrives to find out how poorly omegas are treated. His mate Niko is living in deplorable conditions but the worst part is that he is terrified of David and does not recognize him. The only thing David can do is try to earn Niko's trust and hope he gets his memories back. I love the secondary characters and my favorite is Virgil. The ending is great and I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I was given an ARC to review by the author.
A long lost mate, a mysterious man in a hood, unlikely allies, and a hawt alpha. Need I say more?
I have been waiting for this book. It is everything I was hoping for. If you're looking for sweet & fuzzy... stop right now. This book is wall you wall adventure, intrigue, betrayal, everlasting love. It is intense in every way. I loved it! Old friends are here. Old enemies, too. I was welcomed back into their lives. This is not a stand- alone. It continues the saga. Please read the previous books in order. Yes, there is physical & mental abuse. There is violence & death. Shifters, after all. But the story is captivating; pulling you along on a wild ride. There is HEA. There is also a cliffhanger. Issues remain unresolved. I can't wait for the fifth book! This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
Strength and loss, hope and despair lead these men to sacrifice and perseverance in this engaging story. I have been waiting for David's story and i am so happy with the continuing complexity and intrigue. David and Niko together are touching and i love the time they share remembering their past.
Alpha's Choice is well written and the story-line of this series is amazing! This is best read in sequence of the series to fully appreciate the events that lead to each new book. This is the fourth book of the Indigo Mountain Pack series and it is a read to treat yourself to.
Why would an Alpha leave a pack he loves, great friends, great & fun times to join the pack of an Alpha he nearly killed? What possible circumstance could compelling a big tough Alpha to bow down to a Wolf he has nothing but contempt for?
What happens when what the Alpha sought isn't what he finds? How does he handle his anger and disappointment? The fourth book in the Indigo Mountain Pack series is action packed and full of surprises.
An alpha had a choice and in making the right one he found his hea with the love of his life.
Yess! We finally found out who the raven shifter is along with the hooded Alpha who came to the rescue. This plot was compelling but also very bittersweet. I loved Niko and David and some of the precious moments that they were able to spend together. The ending was enthralling and the action was riveting. The writing was excellent and the characters were engaging. Outstanding. =)
omg i loved this book! david would do anything to be with niko again, and he does! it was happy/sad read all around. would def recommend. another great one from hawke oakley.
A more interesting story that the previous ones. An Alpha wolf tries to retrieve his captured Omega mate. There's an HEA but no final resolution. Typos: several.
Great series and this is a great addition . Grump alpha David , discovers his mate who he thought was dead is still very much alive and in an impossible situation. Highly recommended
