During IgNiTe’s attack on Elliot Whitehouse’s headquarters, James was wounded but was able to escape with Marci’s help and is now on the mend thanks to his accelerated healing Symbiot powers. While Elliot suffered a heavy setback, Marci was able to more significantly earn his trust, thanks to Lyra manipulating him into thinking Marci/Azrael had saved his life. It seems that Lyra, a fellow Symbiot, had been working all along with a sister branch of IgNiTe.
A month has passed and Marci continues to work undercover for IgNiTe by gaining intel on Elliot’s latest efforts to remobilise. During a short visit to her family home, Marci is appalled to find Luke waiting for her but is too angry to listen to his explanations. Later however, she learns the whole sordid truth about her parentage and who and what she truly is. Luke is devastated when Marci rejects his proposition but hopes that in time she will come reconsider.
As suspicions arise and the net threatens to close in on Marci, she must keep up her charade with Elliot long enough for James and Kristen to come up with a cure. When Ayden falls into Elliot’s clutches however, his worst nightmare comes true and IgNiTe are forced to make their move. In a final showdown where allies will become enemies and enemies will become allies, will humanity prevail?
Shatter the Darkness is the third and final heart pounding instalment of the Ignite the Shadows series. Once more the author has crafted a genuine page turner with action interspersed throughout from beginning to end.
The character development throughout has been exceptional, each showing real depth and substance. Marci’s journey from a troubled teen and loner to a strong, courageous and selfless heroine determined to fight her demons was a revelation. Her relationship with James had me tearing up on more than one occasion. I wish we’d been given more insight into his background although I understand there’s a short novella based on his story in Tame the Night.
All in all I was happy with the way the author tied up all the loose ends. This has been a truly memorable series with a plot that has held me hostage from the offset. I highly recommend it for fans of Sci-Fi/apocalyptic themes, evil parasites taking over the world, strong heroines and the last remnants of humanity attempting to take them down.

This book is an amazing conclusion to the series! Drama, suspense, intrigue, twists and turns, action packed edge of your seat, fast paced, page turner! Who can Marci trust, with people being taken over by eklyptors. Has she trusted the wrong people? Join Marci and the gang to find out! I absolutely love this series and can't wait to read more books by this author! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book

This story was the best in the trilogy, it had made me sit on the edge of my chair!
Marci is inside Eclyptrs quarters, she's undercover for the Ignite. Will she manage to survive what is about to come as nothing can be trusted. Everyone is lying and no one is sure beside yourself!

read this book series!
An awesome book series and an equally awesome book all I can say is if you like Syfy you will this book and series even if you don't this book has an entertaining story sure to keep you entertained to the end. The author of this series truly has a talent for writing excellent. Story and if there winds up being another book in this series I can honestly say it will be the first thing I purchase if I hear it's been released.

Ignite series is a great read!
Ingrid Seymour never disappoints. This Ignite the Shadow series is well written. Couldn’t help but download each book to continue the story.

Wow what a finale! This final book was breathtaking and so emotional. Marci finally finds her answers from Luke, turning her already conflicted life into more of a unbelievable whirlwind. You will feel like you are on a precipice as you watch all the threads coming together but at what cost? Nobody can trust anybody except for themselves as the world is ripped apart. The writing in this series has been unprecedented. Ingrid Seymour is one of my favourite authors and sometime I’ve thought surely her story’s will have a hint of an aspect, trait or feature of a previous one, however this has never been the case, as each series is totally unique to others as she creates another new world, new characters & storylines and that’s what keeps me coming back as I know she has created me another new world, impossible situations, unbelievable & shocking revelations with characters I could have never even begin to imagine. This series will show you the tenacity of the human race as shocking shadows start to come to life. It will show the resilience of a young girl as she constantly fights for her sanity as a new world emerges that want to take that from her and every person on this planet, she not only fights for herself she fights against’s injustices, heartbreak, betrayal, hate & a right for everyone to find peace from the shadows, as those shadows turn into monsters this planet may never recover from, unless a way to Shatter the Darkness can be found. Sorry I don’t leave spoilers but recommendations and creativity I would say absolutely 110%

Crazy, brutal, brilliant conclusion to this series.
Marci has lost everything including herself, but now has found a purpose to fight. Yet her emotions are either subdued or skewed to anger and vengeance - after all, such things as hope, trust, optimism, or love seem to be completely out of reality. With spies and double agents and traitors roaming the factions and the rebel cells, every step has to be precise and calculated to minimize the casualties. Though how far can Marci go with the sacrifices?
I absolutely loved this thrilling, epic finale. I stayed up long at night, fully aware I won't get more than five hrs of sleep, but who cares? There was so much going on, and with such enormous intensity I could not stop if I wanted to. I fell in love with the main characters, and desperately needed to see if they will find a way out of this mess. There was not much romance involved in the book, but one does not need it. It was in the background, a driving force surfacing in the most crucial moments, and that's the important thing. It gave a rather realistic feel of war times, of what an invasion might look and feel like, and for this experience I am grateful - especially that I had to live through it only on the pages. Great work.

I was so excited to jump back into this world! Ignite the Shadows was one of my favorite new series last year by a new-to-me author, and I didn’t have a functional ereader so I had to wait to read. Definitely worth it!
One of the main things I wanted to follow was the relationship between Marci and Aidan, and the entire time my heart thumped with all the possibilities and unknowns between them. I was afraid of another Xave situation.
As usual, Shatter the Darkness had plenty of action, twists and turns, and some slight betrayal. Ingrid Seymour is a great storyteller that weaves all the threads together, and I was on the edge of my seat with how this trilogy would end.
There were a few little details that felt unfinished, especially with the ending . . . books that end with a “leave it up to the reader” imagination have become my nemesis. I can never think about what will come, because it’s not my story!

Wow this series is to die for. Guaranteed my teenage students would love to read her. I like a lot of authors but Ingrid Seymour is right on top of my list that I have to read her books. Her books are not short reads they are full length for each book. Will worth the price. She describes everything like your right there. We have suspense, horror, unknown, heartache and so much more. There are spots you want to cry and don't really know why. Marci is so consumed about everything and trying to prove to John that she can be trusted and that she is sorry. The truth about her brother Luke comes to light and what will she do? Can she keep up the charade with Elliot or will he figure her out? Lamia is out to get her, but can she stop her from hurting her? Will she ever find out who her true parents are? Ayden is still in contact with her, but what are they really doing? Three fractions, but who will win? Or will they all lose? What about the human race? I received a free copy for my honest review.

Get rid of the humans! Turn them into Eklyptors to terrorize the people. They wanted to take over the land but other people like the IgNite group, wanted to clear out the Eklyptors and find a cure and a vaccine. Fighting ensued with James leading IgNite's fight for freedom. Exciting storytelling, good series!

Great ending to this series!! Marci was valuable in everything she did. All her sacrifices she did and made to keep the plans in place. Ayden, I grew to like him, finally. Understood his ways with the way he acted.

This is a fabulous conclusion to the series, even if I am sad to send the end. I was on edge right until the final sentence! So much intrigue, twists and turns and surprises. I adore this series!

A great conclusion to an amazing series. I loved this series. I haven't found a book of Ingrid's that I didn't like. Come find out what happens to Marci and the Eklyptors.
