Ta on õppinud Tartu Ülikoolis eesti filoloogiat ja spetsialiseerunud rahvaluulele. Aastal 2004 omandas ta Tartu Ülikoolis magistrikraadi eesti ja võrdleva rahvaluule alal. Magistritöö teemaks oli "Eesti vanema ja uuema rahvalaulu tõlgendusvõimalusi naisuurimuslikust aspektist". Ta on töötanud Vodja koolis õpetajana.
Kristiina Ehin on kuulunud kirjandusrühmitusse Erakkond.
Ta on ka laulnud ansamblis Sinimaniseele.
Ta esines Eesti esindajana Londoni 2012. aasta olümpiamängude satelliitüritusel Poetry Parnassus, mis toimus 26. juunist 1. juulini 2012.

This collection of autobiographical poems was translated from the Estonian, by Ilmar Lehtpere , and the original is laid out alongside its English translation, in this anthology.
I usually find poems that are secured too strongly to their creator to be of limited interest to me. I prefer my poetry to focus on abstract matters rather than concrete scenarios and consider them of more universal appeal. However, this one provided an amalgamation of the two and, even in places were Ehin firmly relayed her own experiences, I found myself bonding with this poetry.
This entire collection was solidly enjoyable, with vivid imagery of setting and scenario, as well as a portrayal of more ephemeral and opaque subjects such as raw feeling. I learned much about Ehin's personal experiences but with an additional exploration of broader subjects and universal emotions also garnered I could not help but to adore this anthology.

This collection of poetry is translated from the Estonian by Ilmar Lehtpere, and I have to say that I’m impressed. I think that Ehin offers up a fascinating insight on the world that we live in, including what it’s like to be an Estonian in an international setting.
All in all, this is one of the few foreign-language poets that I’ve read that’s left me so keen to read more that I’ll be adding a few of her books to my ‘want to read‘ list.
