Tom Shepherd gives us a comprehensive fundamental understanding of CBT and a framework for it. Additionally, he manages to tickle us with some of its history and evolution. I learned some good skills on using CBT as a tool for my daily life; though more in general terms as opposed to technical guidelines. This would be useful to b someone considering therapy for the first time. It doesn't have enough depth to substitute for therapy, which is a good things, but does give insight into the what and why of certain techniques
This was a basic book on CBT and other therapeutic strategies. The content was fairly good and I learned a lot, but it needs some basic editing. Confusing sentence structure, spelling and grammar errors, and other writing issues abound.
