I am a fraud. People think I have it all together. I have fame, money, and millions of adoring fans. How can I still feel so alone?
Wes Bowman, founding member of world famous rock band Infusion Deep, has never felt lower. His little sister Sophie is safe under his care. His best friend is now happily married. Wes has spent his whole life fixing other people’s problems. He doesn’t have time for a relationship of his own.
When Jemma Jones is offered a job as Sophie’s nanny, it’s exactly the opportunity she needs. Left horribly scarred by her ex boyfriend, she has to get her life back on track. Wanting to avoid the spotlight, she is relieved when the job means staying at Wes’s Portland mansion and not touring with the band. What she doesn't expect, is to discover herself falling for the gorgeous rock star.
Two hearts not looking for love. But is love just what they need?
**A clean romance with mild language and themes.**
Great sequel to ‘The Band Book 1’! It was a joy to follow Jemma’s pathway in life after her tragedy in the earlier travels of Wes’s band. The characters continue to be real and the story floated down the literary stream while encountering a few rapids and enough turbulence to keep turning the pages. Looking forward to book 3 Lara!
I really enjoyed this book. The first person present tense POV is a little distracting but once I got into the story I didn’t really notice it anymore. The characters are relatable, the plot engaging.
Wes is a famous rock star who alos has custody of his younger sister, Sophie, needs to hire a nanny to stay with Sophie while he goes on tour. His bandmate’s wife suggests her friend, Jemma. But Wes isn’t prepared for how beautiful and fun Jemma is, even with the physical and emotional scars from her ex-boyfriend’s attack (Her ex threw boiling oil on her in a fit of rage, but we don’t get much more information than that). Wes is struggling with his own insecurities and depression. I would have liked a little more background into why Wes struggled the way he did, and I think Jemma becomes willing to trust another man a little too quickly. A great book about two people who support each other through the challenges life throws at them. Would highly recommend!
I received a promotional copy from the author with no obligation to review.
I've loved everything I've ever read by Lara. As a fellow author of clean rock star romance novels, we have a tendency to communicate regularly from opposite sides of the world. As I'm crashing for the night she's getting ready for her day and it's fun to say good morning and goodnight to one another from across the globe. Lara is a talented writer and I look forward to meeting her someday! For now, I'll enjoy her books. I highly recommend starting with Infuse: The Band Book 1. You'll grow to love these characters, as I have. It's kind of the fairy tale story of falling in love with a rock star. Oh, and by the way, y'all are going to love the third book in the series too! -Julie L. Spencer
This novel is totally cute! It moved and pulled me in. It tells a pretty nice story. The writing is strong. The emotions are deep. Plenty of exciting and tense moments. I love characters. They’re so honest with themselves and really feel real. This novel talks about faith, but it’s not overdone like in some Christian novels.
Reader Rated for ages 14+ for some talk of abuse and mild sensuality.
Wow, this is a fantasticing book! The author, Lara Wynter captured the emotions, heartache of being betrayed by loved ones and on mental health. The band was the family that Wes and some of the other band members never had. e Wes took care of everyone's needs and overlooked his desire for someone to love. He focused on caring for his sister and watch as others find love. Then he hires Jemma to be the nanny and care for his sister while the band toured. Jemma has been though unbelievably mental & emotional trauma, but was thankful to have a place to live and heal. I loved seeing Wes and Jemma trying overcome their past to find their future. Great story!
I liked this book so much better than the first, only because in this one, I understood all the characters and their backstory more. Wes is the consummate caregiver. Both to Finn and to his sister Sophie. It’s so nice he gets his own life. And Jenna is so deserving of finding a real love. The series is good. I like all the band and the family they’ve made.
Wow. First a revelation knocks me down and then I see this matchup that I never expected! So super pumped for these two. I love how these stories take twists and turns that I don’t expect. I’m always kept on my feet! I really liked this slow burn romance.
cute story. Wes finds his soul mate in Jemma. She went through a scaring experience with an ex, physically and emotionally but has.come.out on the other side somewhat. she takes the job as sophie's nanny. she fights th r attraction because she doesn't know how much she can trust him, being a rocket and all. but she gets to see who he truly is. some drama with their.manager and someone trying.to pin a pregnancy on him but not the.main topic of the storyline.
