Japanese Folktales: Classic Stories from Japan's Enchanted Past recounts familiar folktales from Japan (such as Momotaro and Hanasaka-jiisan) so if you already know the more famous tales, you can skip from reading the book. I've read a few books in Japanese folktales and watched some Folktales from Japan anime series so about half the stories included I've already watched/read before. Still, I love the way the folktales are told in this particular compilation. The style seems to be smoother than others that I have read that I found myself unable to put it down. If you're new to Japanese folktales or simply love reading them in different words, I highly recommend getting this version.
