I knew she'd be mine from the moment her needle pricked me.
I was only looking for a new tattoo, not love. My job doesn't allow it. But Lilly's soft touch and reckless curves make her far more dangerous. Our pasts are both filled with demons and secrets. It keeps us from having something special together. They will take her if they get the chance. And the baby she's secretly carrying. Lucky for us, I'm good at what I do. They fu@ked with the wrong family.

A tad disappointing! Both Lily and Bolt had huge childhood issues and they both made crazy mistakes because of them. I was shocked that Lily kept her "secret" as long as she did. Her sister, Natalie, was horrible and Lily needed to stay far away from her. "KEEPING HIS SECRET" is just the first story in this book. Choosing not to read the second.
I am finding myself really torn about how to rate this story. On the one hand I read it in pretty much one sitting which makes me feel like I should have really loved it. On the second hand I found myself thoroughly frustrated with both Bolton and Lilly. Bolton could have easily told Lilly once they were truly together that he worked for the government and could tell her nothing else, yet he refused to tell her anything and let her feelings fester in the unknown. This bred an untrustworthiness in Bolton. Then we have Lilly who acted like she put everyone ahead of herself but really I felt she was hiding behind other peoples problems, especially her sister. It gave her an excuse to hide from her own life. Then there was the secret of Jinx that she kept. Bolton should have been pissed as hell at her but no reaction whatsoever when that secret was reveled. Then I don’t know what we were supposed to believe about Lilly’s sister Natalie. Then the whole end was wrapped up in just a few pages, introducing a concept that frankly I didn’t feel had any set up, so we were left to having to just go with it. I am glad (?) that Bolton and Lilly found their HEA, I am just not sure I am really happy with how they got there.

I happily recommend this book to others as well based upon its own merits. All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given! Until next time... Happy Reading!
I love a spy story without the nuance of the cat and mouse chase. Ha! This is a genteel romance about Bolt, spy and old rich; and Lily, Tattoo artist. So many secrets...so many control issues. Can they resolve all of them? The storyline engaged me from chapter one and held my interest throughout to the Epilogue without putting the book down. The characters were well developed. Sad about Bolt's mom. Would have loved to see her play more of a role in the story but her character was a catalyst. Mrs Polk, the housekeeper was a very dynamic individual as was Mary. Highly recommending. (Note: I was provided an Advanced Review Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)

ARC Received for a Voluntary and Honest Review. I also got the book📑 with KU.
I liked the book but I hated Natalie and I felt like her character added unnecessary extra drama to the book. Some of the language in the conversations was stiff and awkward, but overall, it's an enjoyable read. Wish I had a millionaire boyfriend!
Bolt [aka Bolton] goes to Lily to have his very first tattoo drawn. They both have secrets and alcoholics in their families[her younger sister and his father]. The secrets don't all have to be kept as full secrets and these cause angst within the story that could tear these two apart. Lily is struggling to keep her head above water after her parents were killed and she is having major issues with trying to keep Natalie's drug, drink and thieving habits in check. Bolt is trying to keep the family business afloat whilst his father drinks away profits. He is completely enamoured with Lily and buys her clothes, a car and anything he thinks she may want but he overwhelms her and she dumps him. But the lust, passion, sizzling chemistry between them can't be ignored and they end up in bad having unprotected sex. She leaves him when she realises that she is pregnant. Will Bolt go after her for a third chance at love? Will Natalie, whom I didn't like at all, continue to make Lily's life very difficult? Will Bolt's family business fail? Will his real occupation come after him via Lily?? To find out these answers and more you'll need to get your own copy of this short, fast paced story by Kira Blakely. I did like the story and usually love Kira's stories but this one just didn't grab my attention as usual. maybe it needed to be longer to really 'get into the characters'. having said that it is a unique storyline that I did like and is worth reading. I look forward to Kira's next book with anticipation. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
WARNING: THIS EBOOK CONTAINS BONUS MATERIALS. DO WHAT YOU WISH WITH THIS ADVICE.
It was a nice dose of brain candy, but I could’t take it seriously.
This ebook definitely does point out the differences on how men and women think, but at this point in post-modern history, you’d think that Lilly would have figured it out. I certainly would have. (If I go into detail, I would spoil the ending.)
And there lies the problem. I have read many a deus ex machina rescue of a flagging novel or ancient Greek play, but this might be one of the more original forms of its kind. The first thought that came to mind was: “Are you kidding?” It was an obvious misled by the author but instead of being considered as amazing technical, I felt as if I was conned in a bad way. My second thought was: “And I wasted my time for a shaggy-dog ending?” Believe me, I’ve read some doozies in my time, but they had been, at least, amusing.
I’m getting totally jaded by these “billionaire” romances. Maybe we are all suffering for not getting any benefit of a tax cut with the future news of increased taxes, cutting of benefits, and the return of the draft. (Where do you think we’re going to get more soldiers for the various new war fronts certain individuals want to open up? Wal-Mart?) Maybe I’ve realized that I’m no Cinderella, and no handsome prince will be there to rescue a fifty-some woman whose career tanked when she was hit by a girl texting on her phone and not paying attention to her driving.

I read this book as part of an arc program. I loved this book. I love all of Kira's books, this one was no different. In this book, Bolt is a successful businessman who also has a lot of secrets. He works for the government and cannot tell anyone why or what he does. Bolt's mother was close to him and when she died unexpectedly, he blamed his father because she was rushing home to him. Bolt's father Dallas is a drunk and Bolt doesn't want to have anything to do with him. When Bolt goes to Lilly's tattoo studio to get his mother's name tattooed on him, he is a little rude to Lilly. To apologize to her, he invites her to dinner and she accepts. They have a great night and when Lilly wakes the next day, Bolt is gone. Lilly thinks it is the last she will see of Bolt, but he returns and wants a relationship with her. Lilly knows they are from different worlds and Lilly has a lot of problems of her own. Lilly's sister Natalie is an addict and Lilly tries to look after her. When Bolt wants to be with Lilly, she wants to be with him too, but it is hard for her to trust him when he disappears and can't tell her where he goes. Bolt has to decide if he can still do his work and keep Lilly. When danger comes, secrets are revealed and everything changes. This was a very good book, I loved the connection between Bolt and Lilly. I loved how Lilly had to put herself first and finally realize she couldn't fix everything. Bolt was a good guy who really wanted to be happy and be with Lilly. Another great one from Kira.
This story is about Lilly and Bolton. Lilly is a young woman who has been forced to care for her drug addictive older sister, Natalie after their parents die unexpectedly on a trip. Lilly had to give up her dream to becom a graphic designer and run a tattoo shop to make ends meet. Natalie has been mean, nasty and just horrible with her addiction and the way she treats Lilly that Lilly has no one to lean on for help. Bolton had a very special relationship with his mother and she dies in a tragic car accident. Bolton blames his controlling father and has a hard time dealing with his lost. His job working for the government is something he’s not sure he can continue to do. One day he walks into Lilly's place and she gives him the tattoo he wants and they end up connecting. Their relationship is beautiful to see and when he disappears and unable to give Lilly the details it gets to be too much for her she leaves him. When Lilly decides to leave Bolton she has her own secret but she has to put herself first with her upcoming change. Lilly builds a nice little life for herself and even finds a friend to help her. Can Bolton ever get Lilly to believe in him again and can he trust her with his secret in order for them to move forward? There are some twist you will not see along with those who are out to cause issues can possibly get what they deserve. Lily is an artist working as a tattoo artist she is struggling because her older sister is an addict and has been taking money from the business. One day a gorgeous man comes in for a tattoo and changes Lily's life. Bolton has secrets but they are secrets to protect the ones he cares about from the work he does. Can Lily be patient until Bolton can share those secret details? Will Bolton lose Lily before he can figure what he wants to do?
This was an awesome story about two people from different backgrounds finding love. The chemistry between Lily and Bolton is sizzling hot. This story is very entertaining and well written. Once I started it I couldn't put it down. I would recommend this to any book lover.

I'm writing this review with mixed feelings. Lilly and Bolt were a strange couple. I never really felt like I got to know them. The story was long and full of detail but I don't think I ever connected with them fully.
There was drama, misunderstanding, angst and caring. The supporting characters were few but included just enough to complete the story. I wanted to care about them but I think it was difficult because I never really liked any of them. Why? I'm not sure. Something was missing. The feeling a reader gets when they become immersed in a story...when you feel like you're part of the story...when you care what happens to the characters never happened. I couldn't relate to any of the characters. Maybe it was how the characters were presented - all facts and details but without the humor and flaws necessary to make the characters relatable.
Many times throughout the book, the author has Lilly express herself on how she can't relate to Bolt...his wealth, his lifestyle, his work and then follow it up with Bolt being upset that he can't tell Lilly what he really does in his line of work. Neither of them put themselves in the other person's shoes. I just got tired of hearing them say/think the same thing over and over again.
The writing was strong. I just didn't enjoy reading the book as much as I thought I would.

3.5/5 I have to be honest that this wasn’t my favorite by this author. I usually love her books but this one just didn’t do it for me. It started out really well but then it just felt rushed. Bolt and Lilly met, he didn’t want a relationship then all of a sudden she was his girl. I was a little confused of the timeline at many points. Bolt didn’t want to be “controlling” but that’s how he came off to me. Honestly, I was quite confused as to what Bolt did, even after he explained it, and his dads job. Lilly was headstrong and was trying to take care of her older sister, Natalie, who I couldn’t stand. Don’t know why Kenny was interested in her?! I was hoping that Natalie would redeem herself at the end, but that didn’t happen. I felt I had more questions than answers with this book, which is a little disappointing as this is one my ABSOLUTE favorite authors. But just because it wasn’t my cup of tea, doesn’t mean it won’t be for you! I’d still say it was worth the read because I was still glued to it, if not just so I could try to figure it out. Maybe it’s just me. Still read it, who knows it may become your favorite book! There’s no way that one book that isn’t may favorite would deter me from reading more of her books! I can’t wait for next book!

I really liked this book. Kira did a great job. Bolton was having dinner with his mom. His dad called her and Bolton asked her to let it ring. She said you know how your dad is. After his dad yelled at his mom and told her to get home, she told Bolton they would do it again soon. Except she was killed in a car wreck on her way home. Bolton blamed his father. Bolton went into Lilly's tattoo parlor and wanted a tattoo. Lilly asked Bolton if he knew what he wanted. He said, "yes, I want a name." Leila was his mother's name and that's what he wanted across his heart. Lilly felt a pang of jealousy. Bolton got rude and Lilly went in back and cried. She had been dealing with her out of control sister that was stealing money from her to support her drug and alcohol habits. Bolton went to her door and apologized. He asked her out to dinner to make up for his behavior. They ended up back at Lilly's apartment because Natalie, Lilly's sister got drunk and passed out in the alley. Bolton helped Lilly get her home. After talking, Bolton and Lilly hooked up. Will this be a one night stand since Lilly found out Bolton is from old money? I received an ARC through Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Lilly has more than enough on her plate the day Bolton the billionaire walks into her tattoo shop looking for a tattoo that will give him some closure. That one tattoo experience brings them both into each other's worlds in ways they could never have anticipated and quickly cannot live without secrets. Lies, dark family ties all leading back to their insecurities and roadblocks. Feeling the connection between them under the layers of misfortune can they break free from the barriers that surround them and speak the truth? This one had me all over the place! I wanted to like both our protagonists Lilly and Bolt. My issue seems to lie in their woe is me mentality and the insta- all situation they had. I did not understand it. For two broken by their past lives people they sure loved the crap out of one another and were willing to do whatever the other wanted quickly!( Of course, this is just my random thoughts) I know, I know it is fiction! Puting those feelings aside, I felt this story was creative; the writing style was unique, it was one that kept me reading curious to know what in the world was going to happen next in the drama-laced, plot-twisting sexified crazy train that is Bolt and Lilly's story!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I really enjoyed this book. It captured my attention from the very beginning with the mystery as to who Bolton really was and what he truly did for a living. Lilly was a strong woman feeling she had to look after her older sister. Both Bolton and Lilly have suffered loss and it seems to bond them in some ways. Bolton at times is torn between his feelings for Lilly and whether he can tell her his secrets. Lilly becomes frustrated with Bolton always leaving to go on "work" trips and not explaining what he really does for a living. 'Well Lilly has a secret of her own and decides she has had enough and leaves Bolton with a choice to make. This is a very well written book that will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting to know how everything will turn out. the chemistry between Bolton and Lilly is so steamy and hot. I love how Bolton even though he says he can not get involved at the beginning becomes so carrying and protective of Lilly and also wants to help her in dealing with her sister. A great read with lots of mystery, suspense, danger and a wonderful HEA!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book. Bolton and Lily were amazing. I loved this book, their story touching. Lily is struggling after her parent die, she is now responsible for her sister who is an addict and trying to support them both. Her dreams of college were dashed to quickly and now she is a tattoo artist trying to make a life for herself and her sister. Bolton has suffered loss as well, his mother was killed in a car accident that he blames his father for what happened. Bolton and Lily meet when he comes into her shop for a tattoo and she’s the one to do it. The attraction is there, sparks fly and one thing leads to another, but he’s always leaving, never knowing when he will return or where he is going and not knowing what he does for a living puts Lily on edge, losing trust and not wanting to feel the way she is and breaks it off. Little does she know he works for the government and can’t reveal anything about his life, but now when Lily has a secret of her own, will she be able to deal with it alone? What will happen when Bolton returns and finds out what she is hiding? Highly recommend this read, great story.
Bolt and Lilly. The spy and the tattoo artist. Both broken in their own ways, desperately trying to hold on to each other.
I had a hard time with this book. Usually I have pictures in my head while I read a story, but this time I even had to start the first chapter more than once, to at least make it to the point where Bolt and Lilly meet. I was left with more questions than answers and I have to admit, in the end I wanted to find out more about Kenny – Bolt's best friend, and Natalie – Lilly's bitchy, broken sister. I hope there will be a book about these two. I think I need her/their side of it all to feel like the story is complete.
Yes, the book got everything a great story needs. Love, Family, Drama, Wedding, Baby... I could go on and on and on. And yet, this time it didn't feel like enough.
If you like Kira Blakely's books you'll still enjoy it a lot. But a real fan will feel left hanging a bit.
I received an advanced readers copy of this book for my honest review.
A story that spans over a year between a secretive man, Bolt, and the tattoo artist, Lilly, he meets when he gets a tattoo. Their whirlwind affair starts but Bolt has too many secrets, he leaves for days and weeks and can’t answer where he has been. This drives Lilly crazy and has to leave only to leave with a secret of her own. A good read with steam, secrets, lies and some suspense. I enjoyed that the story spanned over some time between them, reading how they come together, fall apart, get it together and try again. I also enjoyed that Bolt didn’t give up, stayed true to his word and didn’t mess around while apart. Lilly was a bit stubborn and a times I wanted to shake her where her sister was concerned but I did like how she stood up to Bolt when warranted. The ending was a bit abrupt for me, something happened, they walked away and it was like nothing happened and no danger was involved especially to Jinx. But otherwise a good read with a moody man and a resilient woman. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Customer Review 5.0 out of 5 starsA relationship put to the test. By sewsummore on 15 April 2018 Format: Kindle Edition y sewsummore
Lily was a young woman carrying a burden she never should have had to bear. After her parent's death Lily and her older sister struggled to survive on the money Lily earned as her sister fell into a world of booze and drugs. Bolt was a wealthy man with few ties and a lot of cynicism about women and life. When he helped Lily to search for her sister after she had disappeared after a drunken binge, he found she was a woman who was without guile, her honesty made him want to see more. Before long the two moved in together but his trips away without any reason put their relationship to the test. This was a rewarding story of love and understanding as two lovers fight circumstances to find a life together. A great read.

I loved Lily and Bolton’s story. Lily is a struggling graphic artist who is forced to run a tattoo business to support herself and her drug and alcohol addicted older sister. The girls were orphaned suddenly and left with no family. Bolton is a wealthy man with a tragic history and a drunken mean spirited father, he walks into Lily’s tattoo store one day and there is an instant attraction between them. However despite the chemistry between them Bolton’s covert job with the government interferes with their growing connection. When Lily can no longer handle Bolton’s sudden unexplained trips she runs. Can they work through this obstacle and make a life together? Will Lily’s sister ever recover and find her own happiness? You’ll have to read this fast paced book to find these answers. There was a pleasant surprise ending which proves a person may not be as he or she seems. You will not be disappointed with this book. I received an ARC and am happily reviewing this book.
I am quite torn on how to rate this story. I enjoyed the storytelling in this book, loved the idea of the characters Bolt and Lilly... but something in the execution felt off. Like the heart was missing. We need Bolt to have one, for the HEA to be believable and he never quite outgrows his coldness. Perhaps that's intentional, but I wanted to see more. He is good at showing his feelings through objects and gestures, even at the very beginning, but never gets quite beyond that. I really want to relate to Lilly in a big way, and I kind of do, but also have a hard time really wanting to. Perhaps it's the mom in me, but I don't understand just met bareback sex and hiding a pregnancy. It feels totally unrealistic to me. I enjoyed the story and like the characters, I just was left wanting a bit more from them. Recommend if you like KB!

Kira writes such great stories and this was no different. Lilly is a graduate with a degree in design and has been taking care of her older sister since their parents died a few years ago. She is a struggling tattoo artist who just makes ends meet for her and her sister. Her sister is selfish, mean and steals any chance she gets. Bolton comes from old money, but doesn't let it control his life. Bolton is a man who just lost the person who means the most to him and ends up at Lilly's to get a tattoo. The attraction between them is instantaneous. He steps up to help Lilly, knowing that she needs the help, but doesn't like asking for it. When they start a relationship, his main job comes between them. He can't tell her the truth of what he does and where he goes. That brings out her insecurities and feelings of abandonment. They have such undeniable chemistry and a good connection, but will the secrets come between them. This has secrets, suspense, action, twists and turns.
This book felt like a bit of a departure from Ms Blakely’s usual flowing writing style. Lilly, a tattoo artist, lives with her addicted older sister Natalie. Lilly tries to look after Nat, but it’s pretty tough. She meets Bolton, who comes from old money & has an import-export company. Bolton has secrets that he must keep from Lilly, which Lilly can't understand, and she ends up withdrawing and keeping her own secret. In terms of the plot, I was a bit confused-Bolton couldn’t reveal things to Lilly until the end of the book, and the reader knew little more until then. The reader knows enough that there is no great reveal and knowing more would have helped me with clarity. There was a bit of suspense & action at the end, which I enjoyed.
I received an arc of this book and have voluntarily reviewed it.
Bolton is from old family money but he does not tell anyone what business he is in. Lilly is the tattoo artist that he has fallen for. Bolton is possessive, protective and looks after Lilly and her sister. Lilly has family issues that caused her to grow up before her time. The connection between the two continue to grow and the chemistry was hot, sexy and endearing. Lilly feels she can not trust Bolt because he will not tell her what he does. I am not a fan of Lilly. She kept pushing Bolt away but continued to accept the very expensive gifts he was giving to her. She would say she loved him but would not trust in him about his business and Bolton was not the only one keeping secrets. I am a big fan of Kira Blakely's books and look forward to the next one. I received an advance reader copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a good story, but I didn't feel it really matched the blurb all that much. If you're looking for a story of suspense and danger, based on what the blurb says, that isn't what you're going to get. However, if your looking for a secret baby romance with two people from different worlds, you will get that. Overall I would give it 3.5-4 stars.
It is also an instalove storyline. For two people who weren't looking for love or didn't think they wanted it, Lilly and Bolt sure fell hard and fell fast. They did have really good chemistry. I was not a fan of Natalie, Lilly's older sister. She was a complete b***** to Lilly and I wanted to slap her numerous times. The ending was good and I liked how everything turned out. *I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is my honest review.*
Bolt has secrets he can't share. What Lilly doesn't know is the secrets are to keep her safe. Will she be able to handle the stress of him disappearing days at a time then getting no explanation from him when he returns home? And what happens when Lilly has a secret of her own? I liked the story and enjoyed the read. It's not my favorite of Kira Blakely's but it is a good one. Overall it's a great story there were only two things that I personally didn't like. The first was Lilly's older sister and how she acted towards Lilly throughout the book. The other was how Lilly handled the whole baby situation (I won't say more because I don't want to spoil anything). I did very much enjoy the ending and how everything turned out! There's NO cliffhangers and NO cheating. And definitely a HEA! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
A well written story and likeable characters. Nice storyline and plot. I like it is written in dual POV, which gives the reader both the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. That makes the story even more emotional and captivating. The twists and turns are so unexpected that they made it worth the read.
This story is captivating from start to finish and I read it in one sitting. Sometimes I felt it lacked background and depth but apart from that it is an amazing read. Quick and easy.
A story about two broken characters that meet and have to heal and get through their past before they can have a future with each other. Communicating would have been a nice thing and spared them a lot of misunderstandings. But then again there would be no story then. Liked the sub characters and surely hope there will be a story about them.
Kira never disappoints me with her books. I loved this book, it had a good storyline with strong characters dealing with their own pain nd fearing. This story had suspense, intrigue, trust issues between Bolt and Lilly more on Lilly's part then Bolt, and lots of chemistry, some very surprising twists and turns that I totally didn't see coming!!! Bolt had secrets he wasn't able to share with Lilly while working for the government and it was hard for Lilly to accept that when he would disappear without a word. Unable to deal with the trusty issue, Lilly leaves and wants her space. When she discovers she's pregnant, she keeps it a secret from Bolt! I had a hard time putting this book down and highly recommend this for your library! I loved it!

This book is so outstandingly written... When you read books they should invoke your imagination and sense. And this book does both.
Not to give anything away... There's one character in particular that I just wanted to slap the devil out of... Everybody has those kind of people in their family. But, like I said, books are to invoke something from its pages.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance with a few tweaks and emotion.
I originally received an advanced copy of this book via Booksprout. I HAD to use my KU account to read the final draft. Because: 1) I'm a F4L of KB's 2) I enjoyed reading And 3) Because, I couldn't access the ARC from my device of choice. Truth be told I would still read this book if I had to use my laptop.
Kira has once again written an exceptional story that was impossible to put down. Bolton is a handsome wealthy man with a dark secret. Lilly is a struggling artist who works as a tattoo artist to support her older addict sister. Both of these characters are stubborn with unstable lives. They meet when he comes in to get a tattoo dedicated to his mother. The chemistry between Bolton and Lilly is explosive and they end up having a one-night stand which soon develops into more. Unfortunately the secrets and trust issues drive them apart. Can they make this relationship work despite all the obstacles? “Keeping His Secret” is a passionate, steamy, emotional story worth reading.
