The Final Link: The Gateway Saga - Book 1

Rate this book
IS THERE ANYTHING STRANGER, THEN A GRANDMOTHER WHO DECORATES THE WALLS IN DOORKNOBS?
If those doorknobs are really a gateway of doors that lead to other realms...then maybe.
For centuries the Wasley women have guarded the gateway, and for those years the Guardians have been incomplete.
When Aggie’s grandmother passed, the last things she expected was to be asked to join with eight hunky Guardians in order to help save a bunch of demon children who have been kidnapped. Through ever-changing storms and dangerous weather, they must figure out who is responsible and try and bring the children home in one piece.
Too bad Aggie has to make a life-changing decision. Will she choose to accept her waiting powers by bonding with the Guardians or will she live the life of her ancestors and not fulfill her destiny?

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a reverse harem novel featuring many hot men, steamy sex and adult situations, magical creatures, demons, vampires, shifters, along with a woman who knows how to take charge of the situation, and so much more!

It took a couple chapters for me to be pulled in, but I'm so glad I stuck with it! The FMC, Aggie, is a natural leader, but full of sass and snark. She definitely keeps the guys on their toes! I mean I would have a hard time keeping up with 8 very different guys with all different strengths and weaknesses.

I love the fact that not all magically fall in love from the first moment they meet. They really have to spend time together to connect.

This book is longer than 90 pages, so please don't trust the length posted on Amazon.

Pro: this book is soooooo good. I never wanted it to end.

Slight con: small grammatical errors

I received an ARC and these are my personal opinions and thoughts.

This is a great story, lots of excitement drama and danger and lots of men!! I was hooked pretty much from the start and I am desperate for book two

I found it to be well written with a great storyline, I love learning about the guys at the same time as Aggie and the twists and turns are amazing, 15 days and counting to the next book

New and exciting dimensions!

The author presented a fresh, and interesting take on familiar concepts and characters! She has a strong, straightforward, and capable MC in Aggie! After a sad occurrence that leaves Aggie alone in the world, she suddenly finds that there is so much more than meets the eye. She meets eight very different and mysterious males and is thrust into new realms and an epic adventure! Despite setbacks, and an ominous prophecy, Aggie handles all the new information, places and people with aplomb, and uses her internal strength and instincts to guide her way successfully. She is inundated with so many new possibilities but plays it so cool! I really loved her ability to roll with the punches and accept many things that would make the average person go insane! Aggie is exactly as the title implies, she is a link, a protector of worlds, and she, and the reader, are introduced to a new realm. I am hoping we get to visit more places with Aggie as her adventures continue. The men also slowly work their way into her heart, and we get to see a lovely progression of relationships start to take place! I will say she is one lucky girl!!! The first task for Aggie in this new world is to help with a terrible crime being committed against the innocent, and her passion for the subject helps to develop her potential and gives us a glimpse of the force she will be! There are some definite erotic experiences, but this book is more about establishing the place, the story, and the main characters into a cohesive unit for their upcoming trials. I love the authors unique world, and I love all the characters, the variety, and the descriptions. I am excited to continue Aggie's adventures and gain a deeper understanding of her men! Well done!

After her Grandmother dies Aggie Wesley hears a noise the last thing she was expecting was to be faced by 2 of the most gorgeous men she had ever seen. They explain to her that for centuries the Wesley women have guarded the gateway between realms that just happens to be in her Grandmothers house. She just presumed her GM was eccentric having doorknobs decorating the room wall but she was told they are all gateways . She is asked to go along with them but wasn’t expecting to be asked to join the 8 sexy guardians and help them find out who is kidnapping children from the a Demon realm.
I loved this book from the start and Aggies sass towards a few of the men is great especially towards Mitchell who is a werewolf alpha and his attitude towards her really annoys her but she hits back with sarcasm that annoys Mitchell so much.
I haven’t listened to any RH where there’s been more than 4 men so I am looking forward to listening to more in the series to see how things progress . They ask Aggie to be the ninth guardian which is said to make all of them stronger and that she will be mated to each of them and gain some of their powers for herself. Her men are Vampire Xavie, Shifter twins Ren & Mitchell ,
Demon Mathius , Fae Eldon , Greyson mage , Kyrell incubus and Liel Elf up to now my favourites are Ren as he’s really funny and Eldon as he’s so sweet but things might change.

LOVED LOVED LOVED this book!!

A part of me couldn't put this book down, and the other part of me wanted to make it last as long as possible.

I was a little worried at first about the harem having 8 different supernatural guys in it but for me, it seemed to work, once I was able to distinguish them in my mind. And the sexy time scenes were very well written! ;)

Aggie, the female MC, was spunky, not afraid to speak her mind and ask random questions, and wasn't too bossy as the leader of the group. It felt very natural.

I loved the storyline/plot and can't wait to see where the series goes...And hope to see more of the other men's worlds and get to know them better as the series progresses.

Erin Thornton definitely outdid herself with this book!

Ok. Wow. That was amazing.

Supernatural. Rh. 8 Supernaturals. Smart, Easy going, Statigic, Warmhearted heroine. Wow. I suspect this will be one of my favorite book series. After Aggie's grandmother dies, she stumbles upon a room full of doors and knobs. One night two men introduce Aggie to her roll of Gaurdian and the Nineth in the Brotherhood. Giving her roll a try, she and the Brotherhood investigate disappearing children in the demon realm. This story is fast paced and a easy read. The MC is an effortless character to love. She's kickass and smart. The guys are totally hot. There's EIGHT of them! You get more acquainted with two of them if you get what I meant *wiggles eyebrows*. I really enjoyed this book and would without a doubt recommend.

Now I wanna see behind door number 2

This was a totally unexpected take on the paranormal, I absolutely loved it and the fact that she didn't instantly fall head over heels in love or into bed with all the guys right away! The story was great, they are getting to know each other and solving a mystery at the same time. With the amount of men she has in her harem I expected it to be a little much trying to remember each character and their personalities but Erin Thornton did a great job, especially since I believe this was her first RH. I look forward to reading book two and "seeing" some of the other doorways open!

I liked this story, Aggie is a fun and interesting character. Thornton created a unique world but there were a couple things that pulled me out. I liked each of the guys, they were unique and each brought something to the story. Aggie is likeable, and I liked how she challenged the guy. I do think that she was too accepting of a whole world she hadn’t known about. She pretty easily accepted some unbelievable stuff. Also, there is sort of a joke/prank that is pulled by the guys on Aggie that I thought was a little weird, since they didn’t really know her, so for me it came off kind of condescending. All that being said, overall I enjoyed the story and will likely check out book 2.

I really liked the idea of this book. A room filled with doorknobs that lead to different worlds, that sounds amazing. Unfortunately I just didn't like the execution. I felt like aggie kind of flip flopped a lot. She was strong and assertive and then just goes along with whatever they tell her. Or the guys all love her even the one who doesn't want to be part of her harem. So I didn't hate the book I just wanted more. Hopefully the next book is better.

Excellent story. I really enjoyed the overall premise, and I'm definitely curious to find out more about these gateways into other realms.
There are 8 men in this harem, which feels like a lot to me. I feel like a lot of the guys were barely introduced, or didn't get much time with Aggie. I'm definitely curious to see how the relationships develop.
Overall, I truly enjoyed this book, and I will definitely be reading the next in the series.

I really liked this book! It was super interesting and something new that I haven’t seen before! The story idea is really cool and I liked the characters. There’s a wide range of supernatural creatures and I’m looking forward to reading about more of them. I have usually only seen RH books with 3 or 4 people so I really liked seeing this one with 8!! Looking forward to the rest :)

Good story, bad editing

I'm not sure how to rate this. On one hand I was hooked into the story and couldn't put it down until I finished. On the other hand, it badly needs and editor and the writing was really quite poor. The number of typos was just unreal. I kept getting pulled out of the story by them. I'll read the next one but I'd implore the author to seek out an editor.

This is great story, but... A little too much to keep up with at first. Lots of editing missed especially towards the end. One of my big pet peeves.
A young woman learns after her grandmother passes that their are some serious family secrets. She meets 8 of them and then dives right into her destiny. Good start to a series. P.S. I wish I had brownies at my house!

Hot

This story was hot! Aggie found out she was gatekeeper and went on an adventure that led her to her harem. She's a fun heroine that didn't let The boys intimidate her. The guys are hot and the story was well written. I can't wait for the next book.

what a fun and unique story!! from the moment Aggie found the room of doorknobs everything took off. so much was thrown at her at once and she handled it like a champ. she was strong and sassy and wasn't afraid to jump face first!! I felt like alot of the men had strong personality but she never let them over take her. she kept them on their toes and never held back. The world and descriptions where addicting it painted such a beautiful picture for me and at times I got so lost in it. The ending was my favorite part.... i laughed so hard and it was just perfect. I will say that I hated alpha/mitchell with a fiery passion but I have a feeling that won't last long. my favorite of the men is of course eldon his character was everything to me♡♡ this is a new author for me and I'm so excited to continue on with this series and read different books by her!! I loved this book and I'm already excited about what to read next!!
