Top Enders had an interesting setting and a lot of potential, but unfortunately it never really came to life for me. The story moves slowly, and despite the themes it aims to explore, it struggles to build momentum or emotional pull. I kept waiting for something to happen that would fully grab my attention, and it just didn’t.
The characters feel underdeveloped, which makes it hard to stay invested in their journeys. Scenes often drag without adding much tension or insight, and the pacing makes the book feel longer than it is. Even moments that should feel meaningful pass by without much impact.
In the end, this was a fairly dull read. While the intention behind the story is clear, the execution lacks energy and focus. I finished it, but without much satisfaction, making this a two star read overall.
