I’m the heir to my rock star father’s legacy. Money, music and headaches. A town that depends on my name to make a living and I’m ready to leave it all behind. I'm tired of staring down the hill from my mansion at a town that resents me. I’ve chosen to hide in plain sight, blending in and keeping to myself. Hiding who I really am. Until she crashed the last party I’d ever have and made me realize everything I was missing.
Cora Sinclair is anything but your average woman. Gorgeous with curves in all of the right places From the moment I saw her the music and blood pumped through me. A feeling I hadn’t had in years. But she came with a purpose, a night of fun and to confront the one person that is destroying her town, me.
She wasn't counting on staying for the weekend and uncovering my deepest, darkest secrets that would change her live too.
Legend is a 50,000 word, standalone, Rock Star romance with plenty of steam, no cheating and a HEA.
As the overview reveals, this book is about a one-hit-wonder and reclusive rock heir, Storm Morris, who is living in his deceased father’s mansion and leading a rather lonely life. He is ready to pack it in and leave the small town of Murtaugh when he meets Cora Sinclair. Cora’s mother also lives in town and she returns home after being fired from her job and then tries to save the town.
Unfortunately, I am only giving this book two stars because I didn’t like or relate to the “heroine” Cora at all. As other reviewers have stated, when they first meet at a party, Storm lies to her about who he is because he wants to conceal his identity as so many people try and use him or want the scoop on him as the former musician, not as the person. Cora lied well before she even met him. He came clean after a day and she continued to lie to him for much longer for reasons I’ll never understand or admire.
She was an accountant, lost her job, then didn’t tell her “friends” and continued to spend money she didn’t have until she was bankrupt. I don’t respect this quality at all in a person. After all those years of schooling, you’d think she say let me put my expert business and math skills to good use and help the local businesses in my hometown by reviewing their books and promoting more tourism via new marketing tactics. She claimed the Morris Mansion was the town’s only big draw and then manipulated Storm over and over so he wouldn’t sell it. She was never a friend to him…didn’t listen to his feelings or concerns or what he wanted for his future. She was very vague with him when he was negotiating with a potential buyer to sell the house instead of being honest. I felt she was selfish and only did what she wanted.
Another part of the story that I didn’t care for was how she was hired to photograph the mansion and the father’s extensive musical collection and she primarily used a cell/mobile phone and somehow, the photos all came out fabulous. I do PR for a living and work with professional photographers regularly and while the descriptions seemed vivid and the photos unique that she took, it all seemed unrealistic to me.
I did like Storm in this book and felt for him having to live in his dad's shadow. I was routing for him to be a successful musician again, but I was not routing for him to be with Cora as I normally do when reading a romance book. I did not feel any chemistry between them. This book does have a happy ending and the town flourishes after Cora works her magic and her photos are printed. I have liked other books by Ellie Dane, unfortunately just not this one.
The tiny town of Murtaugh, a few hours from NYC, is home to a late rockstar's fabulous mansion. Storm Morris🐺🎸 is the son of the rockstar, Ian Morris🎸, but he is famous in his own right too. For the last few years he has been hiding out, and now he is thinking of selling out, selling the mansion. Cora💋💃 grew up in Murtaugh, even secretly playing in the Apple orchard of the Morris estate. She kept a poster of the long haired and bearded Storm🐺🎸 under her pillow. Storm🐺🎸 is clean cut now, and so reclusive, most of the people in the town don't recognize him. Cora💋💃 went to NYC to make her fortune, and she did great for a few years. Losing her job, she returns to Murtaugh, to live with her mom, and start over. Cora💋💃 actually sees Storm🐺🎸 at the record shop her friend Rick owns, but she doesn't recognize him. Rick, who knows Storm🐺🎸 and plays with him on occasion, tells her there is a party 🍸 at the mansion, this weekend, and she should go.
Cora💃💋📷 uses a press pass belonging to her friend, Victoria, to get into the party. She starts talking to the tall handsome man🐺 she saw at Rick's record shop. He says his name is Sean🐺🍆🌋, she says her name is Victoria💋💃, and they slip away to have 🔥hot sex🍆🌋💋 in the greenhouse, something neither one usually does, but the attraction to each other is stronger than what they can deny. They are both deceiving each other. How long will it take for them to find out about each other? Will it matter?
I loved this book📑! The scene in the greenhouse was magnificently written and brought tears to my eyes! This is a great story and unique among romances about rockstars🎸🌠. Storm🐺🌠🎸 was reinspired to write again when he meets Cora💃💋📷. Their meeting breathes new life into two people who had stalled out in life. Recommend!
ARC Received from Booksprout for a Voluntary and Honest Review. I also got the book📑 with KU.
Storm and Cora have both been running from the larger than life presence of how their respective parents lived their lives. Storm is lost in the glow of his fathers rock and roll legend and Cora is trying to prove that she is not a flighty artist, but a responsible adult. The problem is we are all a product of our parents and the environment that we grow up in. Cora and Storm both spend the book fighting against their true selves and thus fighting against their growing feelings for each other. It is a hard and emotional journey made difficult by lies to themselves and each other, but in the end they find happiness with themselves and also with the love they have for each other. I loved this little town and story and think it would be fun to explore more of the people and the rebirth of this small rock and roll town in an extended series. Just a thought. Hope you are reading this Ellie!
I have read most of Ellie Danes books and while I have loved some more than others, this one is a hit and deserves to be your next one-click wonder.

A party, two lies and a couple just looking to connect with someone else without judgement. Storm is the previous one hit wonder who's constantly trying to measure up to his late rockstar father's memory. Then there's Cora who ran away from her small town to avoid being compared to her eccentric artistic mother. Both meet pretending to be someone else but quickly connect with each other. I liked this book and how even though both characters had trouble coming clean to each other about who they really were, they seemed to have an ease to their relationship. I think I had trouble really connecting with them at times and felt that because they wouldn't com clean about themselves, the number of times there was a misunderstanding became part of who they were and that became a bit too much for me that I found myself not really rooting for them to make it at times and wondering when the other shoe would fall to break them again. Overall a good read but just was missing something for me personally.

Rock 'n Roll music legend is a big shadow to grow up in. Storm Morris just wants to be himself, and not living the constant pressure and title of a one hit wonder, and son of the great Ian Morris. Cora grew up with an artistic, free spirit of a mother. Here future was always unsure. This causes her to become very driven. Her career as a corporate accountant the secure life she thought she wanted. Sometimes though, fate has other plans. So when being a corporate accountant did not work out, she was forced to go back home to Murtaugh. A chance encounter at a big party, and these two start a very tumultuous romance. There is definitely some heat in this story as well as some tears. And, I do love a happily ever after. This little town of Murtaugh is definitely a place I would love to see.
Legend by Ellie Danes was a fun read! I loved how Ellie Danes created two characters that seem so opposite, yet have a great deal in common. This book has a couple of storylines, yet all seems to be given equal attention and kept me engaged. Storm, a totally cool dude and truly talented musician. Cora is super smart and artisticly creative though she denies it. Both have the denial in common as well as off the charts chemistry. I really liked all the supporting characters as well. Those ladies are a hoot and I found myself smiling on occasion.

I received an arc in exchange for my honest review. Storm & Cora love these two. They grew up in the same town but he was the son of a famous musician and went off to boarding schools and the like. She is the daughter of a yoga instructor and lives in a spotlight of her mother's crazy ways. She becomes an accountant who loses her job and comes back home. He has become a recluse who doesnt' want to live in his father's shadow. There is one last party at his mansion and she crashes to try to convince him to stay in town. They both lie to each other and start of on the wrong foot. There is a lot of back and forth between these two characters and the dialogue is great. I could not put this book. A highly reccommend read.
Cora and Storm are from the same hometown, tho they don't meet until they are adults. He's a "one hit wonder", now living a reclusive life in their small town. And Cora's back in town after being fired from her 'big city' job. Sparks fly between the two when they meet at a party and have a one night stand...tho neither of them tell the other who they really are. Will their "little white" lie destroy any future that they may have or will their own past demons destroy it for them? Great, quick read with a great story line and great charters!

Thanks for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I found this to be a bit outside my normal romance reading. I was pleasantly surprised. I don't usually like rock star romances. This was different. They meet and both are lying! Probably not the best beginning for a relationship. It somehow works for them. Cute, fun and both in denial about their lives. Well worth a read. I think most romance readers would enjoy.

This book really intrigued me and it held me until the break up. The break up scenes were boring and after a month of them not talking; she goes back to him way too easily. Which is really weird, because he figured after a week a way from her that he was in love with her. So he spend three weeks fixing up his house for a public concert and then invites her. I wouldn't have shown up; he would have had to come to me. The only legend in this story is dead and the rest all players of the aftermath.
Two struggling people meet by chance because one crashes a big party of.a has been rocker. She loved him back when and he still held a bit of her heart. But they build a.shaky foundation. They try and try they.always have issues. But they can't love without each other. They're so in love with each other they don't even know it. Everyone around them does. They try and try maybe finally maybe get together?
A well-written story that I enjoyed reading. Storm Morris is ready to leave his town behind as the town expects him to be like his famous rockstar father. Cora Sinclair has to come back to their hometown after a setback in her life. The interaction between these two made for a good story. Storm has spent his life trying to get out of the shadow of his famous father and Cora just wants to prove she isn’t her mother. What will happen to the small town of Murtaugh if Storm sells his father’s mansion. Can Cora convince him not to? Fast paced read with plenty of drama and suspense. Storm and Cora have steamy chemistry and the story held my interest throughout. A Good Read!
This book was an awesome read about a rock star and woman from a small town. Storm is reclusive and heir to a rock legacy. Cora came back to town to live with her mother. The two meet at a party and the sparks fly between them. A good read.

When Cora looses her job and comes home, she finds it a near ghost town. The local rock legend's son is planning on selling the family home and Cora fears that will be the nail in the town coffin. Can she persuade him to stay, maybe even help the town come back to life? Storm may live up to his name.

Cora and Storm have been running from their true selves all their lives. They've found someone who understands what it's like to live with a creative, free spirit parent and wants to be nothing like them. What they finally realize is they can let themselves be creative and true without loosing themselves in the process.
While I liked the book, I found it hard to focus. I usually can't put book down but this one did not pull me in as much. I don't like to give negative reviews so go ahead and read it and make your own decision.

Characters that pretends to be someone they are not. They have to find themselves and tell the truth to get on with their future. Instant attraction and hot chemistry. Steamy passion and emotional ups and downs. A mix of lot of things makes this story worth the read.
Nice storyline, very likeable characters, would’ve like an epilogue because the ending felt rushed, enjoyed the book though 😊 I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love reading anything Ellie Danes writes and this one didn't disappoint. Storm and Cora coming together and working through lies and overcoming all. It's a great love story. I wish it could have had a little more of a not so rushed ending ( maybe an epilogue ). I received this book as an ARC.
This is a very good romance book. The storyline is well-written with good interactions, developed realistic characters who show growth and quirky secondary characters. This is an engaging, entertaining book.

This book is a great love story that bring together a recluse rock star Storm and an out of work accountant Cora, both trying to find their way. These two are instantly drawn together and their story is one that will make you swoon.
I barely started this book and knew this book was for me. This wasn't bad. It gave a lot of details, but said nothing at all. I hate when the the good stuff is skipped. I'm sure it's a good read. I'm just not getting anything out of it
Loved this book! Could not put it down. Grabbed my attention in the first chapter and keeps it until the last page. Can't wait to read more from this author.
