★ A standalone adventure in the "Intergalactic Dating Big Sky Alien Mail Order Brides" series! ★She doesn’t believe in aliens.
He can’t believe he’s stuck on a repurposed honeymoon starcruiser with an Earther girl.
To survive the Great Space Race, they need to find the legendary Firestorm Queen’s Prism in the perilous Paragon Galaxy—but along the way, they might just freefall into love!
Scarred by life and scared by it, Amy Long finally found peace in quiet Sunset Falls, Montana…until a malfunctioning popcorn popper transports her across the universe.
She arrives accidentally—and nekkidly—on the honeymoon cruiser Blissed where the widely viewed and wildly entertaining Great Space Race reality streaming program is already in progress. Now if she ever wants to return to Earth, she has to pretend to be the famous intergalactic explorer who was supposed to be half of Team Prism, searching for the legendary Firestorm Queen’s Prism.
Can this unsuspecting Earther wrap her head around a universe of aliens and adventure? While she’s at it, maybe she’s gonna wrap her arms around the uptight but sexy drakling male—a shapeshifting alien dragon!—who is her teammate.
Luc Amaveo of the Flamewalker Clan just needs a treasure. Any treasure, even the imaginary ones teased by the Great Space Race. Every drakling needs a treasure to prove himself, and being a respectable transgalactic accountant doesn’t count with his raucous clan. If he can take the Great Space Race prize to his twelve older brothers’ mating ceremonies, maybe they’ll finally stop trying to make him into something he’s a ferocious, fiery, bold beast. But he might need to do some pretending of his own if he’s going to keep his innocent Earther girl alive.
Because even as they realize that the cruel corporation of the Great Space Race cares more for ratings than their lives, Amy and Luc also discover that the real danger is facing their own fears…and the risk that they might be falling in love.

I grew up reading SFF, buying the biggest books I could with my chore money. While I loved the action, adventure, and exciting worlds, most of those stories were missing…kissing! Now I read and write paranormal romance and science fiction romance which I think mix the best of all worlds. I also write urban fantasy romance as Jessa Slade and sexy contemporary romance as Jenna Dales.
I spend most of my time at my computer thinking about stories, in my garden thinking about stories, or walking my dog thinking about stories. Hmm, I think there’s a theme… 🙂
I fell in love with the 2 “Underdog” characters in FREEFALL that together made up Team PRISM in book#5 of this anthology Space Opera adventure by Elsa Jade. The crazy adventures and character development as Luc and Amy grew in confidence and as teammates drew me in. I Loved this team (perhaps they are my favorite in the series) and by the last chapter I couldn’t just end it there, I had to go back and reread that last little bit twice ~ Swoon! ❤️ 4.5 Stars.
To recap, The Great Space Race series features a number of 2-person racing teams as they compete in a multi-system (galaxies) competition. At the beginning of the competition, 21 two-person randomly assigned humanoid spaceship teams have entered (both voluntarily and by force) a deadly multi-systems space race contest - each team completing 3 or more difficult challenges for accrued points. Several teams’ space ships crash and burn nearly before the race begins. Other teams fail challenges and are killed during the deadly contest or are disqualified. Less than 30% of the teams competing even finish the contest. This crazy test of fortitude, luck, abilities, and ingenuity (think the The Amazing Race tv series, but with deadly consequences) is created, produced, and broadcast live by a successful and unprincipled media group, Octiron Media Corp of the Paragon Galaxy - far, far from the Milky Way galaxy. The contestants are collected from several galaxies (a few without their consent) and past seasons of the broadcasted race have begun and finished anywhere from 12 days after onset to as long as 5 months. The 3+ challenges, completed for points, are designed specifically for each team - testing them individually and as new partners - dependent upon their own background, fears, inabilities, and limitations. Each team can and often fails spectacularly - so much better for ratings!
THE 2 INDIVIDUALS making up TEAM PRISM are Amy Long, an earthling and from another world, Luc Amaveo, a purple scaled drakling of the Flamewalker Clan. Luc/MMC chose to participate in Octiron’s Great Space Race because he felt a need to prove himself worthy (to his family and himself), and knew that the teams successfully completing the race could earn various valuable prizes. Amy/FMC is participating in the race, it seems, by mere accident or chance as she is transported by miscalculation rather than the supposed real participant. Although now contestants and teammates, neither Luc nor Amy believe the multi-world race is particularly real until their own blood begins to flow - both red and purple.
I recommend this episode of the Great Space Race, FREEFALL, to readers who enjoy fast moving and quick reading Space Opera romance fiction, fantasy romance fiction, the Danger/Proxity, “Us Against the World” type tropes, stories with under-appreciated Heroes rising to the challenge, and sexy adventure novels with HEAs. The creativity and world building in The Great Space Race anthology series continues to be fresh and fascinating. FREEFALL can be easily read and enjoyed as a standalone title with very minimal overlap of characters from the previous books; I have enjoyed the entire series. In addition, I appreciate the opportunity to read books from several new-to-me authors in a genre I love. This was Great fun!
READER CAUTIONS - VIOLENCE - Very Minimal. Think Star Trek, the Original series. PROFANITY - Yes. Occasional strong language used. SEXUAL SITUATIONS - Yes. Beginning just after the 1/2 point, as the 2 main characters’ friendship, trust and respect grows, the relationship overlaps into the physical aspect as well, which is not kept behind closed doors, and may be more than some readers prefer.
*Readers offended by the aforementioned may prefer to look elsewhere.
Love this story. Great couple, Luc is a "geek" and Amy is a "wallflower" but both have more potential and are so compassionate. They make a great team, they help one another and encourage one another although neither expected to be together for this great and sometimes very dangerous adventure that they find themselves participating in. They don't always agree but both try very hard to work through their differences and self doubt. Amy is very open-minded and Luc is very patient with her, both are determined to win this race regardless but find something way more worth having in the process....love.
I received a free advance review copy and willingly post my honest review.
I must say I REALLY like Elsa Jade's aliens. There's something about them that just works for me. As a "boring" drakling, Luc certainly hit the spot for me. (Because, psst, he's not boring. Not at all. Just a little repressed and stuck in his head sometimes. No worries, though, Amy finds a way to get him to find his true self.)
Playing at being the swashbuckling intergalactic explorer Luc expected as his partner gives Amy some much-needed confidence. And with a little confidence comes some aggressive tendencies. Aggressive in a good way, if I do say so myself. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Amy goes for what she wants in an entirely wanted and appropriate manner.
A little danger (okay, a lot of danger), a little sexy times, and a whole lot of fun. Like I said, I like these aliens and I love watching them find the special someone who lets them find themselves.
I enjoyed the story! two people finding their place in the galaxy and with each other. Throw in some adventure, a little danger, and maybe even true love, and you have a good, entertaining story. I’m going looking for others by her and also in this series.
I loved it! I couldn't put it down. You never knew what was going to happen but that kept me glued to it. There was always something waiting around the corner to surprise you. It's great.
Title: Freefall: Team Prism Series: The Great Space Race Release Date: #AlreadyReleased Author: Elsa Jade Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Serial: Standalone, No Cliffhanger Genre: #SciFi #Aliens #DragonShifter #4Stars 🌟⭐🌟🌟 •••••••••••••• Guess I will have to move to Montana, everything's in Montana. At first it was a little slow for me but then WHAMM it gets you.. Amy Long is human working in a little weird shop in Sunset Falls, Montana the only benefits it has is eating all the popcorn she wanted. Than puff Amy is trans-dimensional transference (teleported) to “The Blissed" a spaceship. Crazy there is no such things as ALIENS is there? Luc Amaveo is a Drakling (Dragon Shifter) from the Flamewalker Clan. Luc is a unlucky drakling being the thirteenth egg that was laid and the thirteenth egg to hatch way after his twelve brother. Being the smallest and weak is not a trait for a drakling. So he became an account he was good with numbers they always had to add up. Octiron Corp gave him a ship “The Blissed" so that he and an explorer would be in the Great Space Race, his team was called Team Prism. It was a race to find the Firestorm Queen’s Prism which what's worth millions if you found it and won. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion
