I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I used to be a superfan of The Vamps, but I really haven't kept up with my band fandoms as much in recent years. Don't get me wrong, I still love their music, but I haven't had the chance to sit down and listen to their newer stuff.
I picked this up as I had it on my Book Depository wishlist, but no longer wanted to buy a copy of it. I got it out from the library and didn't touch it for weeks. I honestly expected it to be a skim-read in the end. But I actually sat down and read the whole thing.
It took me back to those days when my walls were covered in posters of The Vamps. Such a trip down memory lane; I think I'll have to finally get around to listening to that latest album.
the vamps will always be my favourites ❤ re-read this for the 10-year anniversary and i'm so proud to see how far they've gone from when they wrote this book!
I excitedly ripped the wrapping paper open, feeling like a little kid. I had no clue what this could possibly be, but I had a good feeling. I pried open the book and yipped in delight. I had gotten The Vamps’ book, just like I had wanted!
I got this book for last Christmas. I was so happy and actually took the time to read it on that very day, which might seem kinda strange, but books are an everyday reality of my life even on holidays.
Title: The Vamps Our Story: 100% official
Author: The Vamps (Connor Ball, James McVey, Bradley Simpson, and Tristan Evans)
Age Group: If you are a fan 🙂
My Rating: 4/4 stars
The Vamps’ personal story is separated into multiple parts. Much of the book is about how they became a band and how it has been for them. They talk about their travels and how it feels to go on tour. There is also a section for each of them individually, where they talk about their backgrounds and what being in the band is like from a personal point of view. They end the book with summarizing where they are currently in their careers and thanking their fans.
Now, I understand that this book might not appeal to all people, because the book would probably only seem interesting to those who listen to their music. That’s why I am making this an extra post. I personally enjoyed the book immensely. Learning about people’s journeys, like theirs, was interesting and it also made me aware of how much work goes into what they do; but also how exciting it is. Of course, I am totally biased in my opinions, but I did really enjoy it. If you are personally interested in creating a band of your own (follow your dreams! No judging) then this also might be interesting to you.
Do any of you listen to The Vamps?

Loved reading about the band! So much information about life on tour and their funny stories and experiences they have had since they started the band.

Not the type of book I would normally read but I love the vamps and my friend wanted to meet them as they were doing a book signing in our city. So we went and got the book signed by the band which was cool but very disappointing as it was so fast. The guys seems really nice but the whole signing only lasted like 20 minutes and I only saw them so about 20 seconds. The book was a lot more enjoyable than I thought it would be as autobiographies are not my thing but as I like the band, it was lovely reading about them in their own words
I got this book a while ago as I'm a massive fan of the vamps. Though I never got round to reading till now. This book has so much information about the band in. If you thought you new everything about the band, you're most likely wrong. This book is very personal and you can tell that the band spent a lot of time writing it. I found myself laughing most of the way through, due to some of their experiences. Even if you are not a fan of the vamps, I think you would still fin it interesting. As this tells you more about the music industry, and the positives and negatives of it. I generally love how open the boys are with this book, and you can see how grateful they are, to where they have got to now. Along with their journey to where they are now.
This is one of the books I got from my library that I actually finished reading. I enjoyed reading about The Vamps as I love their music so some people might not like the book as they do not listen to their music but it was nice seeing their opinions about everything in their own words.
The Vamps’ story is told in separate parts, how they became The Vamps, then a separate chapter for each member of the band about themselves and how they enjoyed being in the band and then a summery chapter on where they are now and what they want next.
They talk about touring, recording, becoming friends and how much they get along with the people who look after them and their record label.
Interesting to learn about one of my favourite boybands and see how their friendship formed. Loved looking at the exclusive photos and liked how the sections were split up to make it easy to read. Definitely made me happy but some parts were boring and I prefer fiction to non fiction as a huge reason I love reading is too escape into a new world. Liked getting to know them better individually. Interesting to see how much they have grown over the years. Overall a good book and acknowledgments were so cute.
It was sooooo amazing I had to read it in one day. Honestly this book was breathtaking as you got to see and learn about the band in a way interviews can't let you, I loved the personal chapters they each had as well as how it was laid out. As a bookaholic you'd have thought I'd be pre-ordering books left right and center; nope in fact this is the first book I've ever pre-ordered and I am so happy I did. These guys make me proud to be British xoxox go read it if you love them ;p
