Upper Crust #7

Any Way You Like It

Rate this book
The first time Dave saw Tasha again he thought he'd imagined her, the second time he wished he had. Years ago she'd broken his heart and never looked back, leaving him stuck in his hometown because of a long held promise to his late sister.

Tasha was back because she needed a place to hide. It was no coincidence she'd picked the only place she'd ever been happy. She hadn't expected Dave would to be happy to see her, or that he'd still be single. She was wrong on both counts. Still when she needed a safe place to stay and when he offered her one and she couldn't bring herself to refuse.

The town Dave was itching to escape seemed idyllic to Tasha but she hadn't wanted to belong before - could she convince him that this time everything was different?

Will their past be a foundation for a new beginning or the very thing that keeps them apart?

If you've ever wanted a second chance at first love Any Way You Like It is for you.

Any Way You Like It is Book 7 in the Upper Crust Series but can be read as a stand alone novel.

Any Way You Like It #8 - Another heartwarming, humorous, intriguing second chance romance in one of my favorite places with some of my favorite characters. This complete series is well written with well developed characters with realistic dialog and no stupid formulas, along with interesting and intriguing storylines. While complete with humor and bad guys, these books are substantial pieces, not fluffy junk. This is my second favorite, which is actually hard to decide on since all the books are favorites! There's also a preview of the book, Something of a Spark.

A fun, heartwarming, second chance at love, intriguing series that's just perfect to spend the time reading. Best sequentially, but not necessary.

Any Way You Slice It #1 - Wish I could have read these books in order, but it doesn't matter. A well thought out romance with realistic dialog and characters and an interesting, entertaining plot. Any more would be spoilers. This series is more substantial than a lot of this genre.

Any Way You Fight It #3 - Second chance at love. Another well written, funny romance with interesting characters and an entertaining plot. I can't say more or it would be spoilers. I enjoyed reading this series.

Any Way You Want It #5 - If you enjoy S. Claflin and T. Pedersen, you'll love McDonell, too! It's the first chapter and you're already laughing and rootin' for the good guys. A well written, fun-filled romance, this time with Chloe and Moose. My second story by this author and now I want to read them all. Moose is my favorite male character.

Any Way You Build It #6 - A well-written, fun, exciting, clean romance. I had to finish it in two sittings; work, a four-letter word, interrupted me. It was complete, but I believe there's more to the story. This is the first story I've read by this author, but I've got another one ready to go from Amazon. I asked the author if I could review this book.

Any Way You Spin It #7 - Another second chance. Another well written, heartwarming romance with interesting characters and a realistic plot. None of these books are repeats, but interesting, fun books on their own, just a piece of a larger picture.

Another enjoyable romance by this author in the Upper Crust series, Any Way You Like It has all the ingredients for a slightly suspenseful romance with the opportunity for second chances. When Tasha needs to hide, she returns to the one place she was the happiest and where she knows that she will be safe. Her "reunion" with Dave, her teenage sweetheart, is less than stellar but when he realises that she needs his help, his protective instincts go on full alert. Dave has more on his plate to cope with than an old girlfriend turning up in town, but with the local busybodies and gossip mongers having their say, he finds himself drawn into Tasha's ambit once again. Having wealth does not necessarily mean that Tasha has the full support of her family or country club friends. When the shattering news breaks, Tasha would have been on her own if it hadn't been for the small town community that drew around her to keep her safe and give her the support she needed. Apart from the one fly in the ointment that is still awaiting her comeuppance, I enjoyed all the characters in this book and the outcome leaves one with a good feeling. I enjoyed reading about characters that had appeared in previous books in this series and although they form part of the fabric of this story, it is nevertheless a stand-alone with a successful and happy ending. While the book alluded to intimacy, there were no bedrooms scenes, making this a relatively clean story. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

I loved the theme of this story about discovery, moving on, and true friendship. I also loved the characters of Tasha and Dave. Tasha and Dave have a lot in common, although maybe not for the same reason, especially that they are always trying to please everyone else in their life but themselves. It is only when they break free of this cycle that they discover what they really want and who they are. I have really enjoyed reading this series and the bonus you get of getting to rediscover old friends, while gaining new ones. Nonetheless, this can definitely be read as a stand alone book and I believe the enjoyment of the book would be the same. Ms. McDonell does a great job of giving just enough detail about the supporting characters that you feel you know their story even if you have not read any of the other books in the series. This is a great feel good romance that is sure to delight. I am leaving an honest review for an advanced reader copy I was gifted.

A twist of two in a relationship

Trista is finding herself blackmailed by her fiance as she called off the plans for the wedding. It seems he took nude photos of her and threatens to sell them to a buffer if she doesn't bring the cash. Trista runs to an old safety net and received the help she needed from a from a former boyfriend.

Enjoyable, heart-warming finale to the Upper Crust series.

Dave and Tasha were a great match, as per usual the gang of friends came to the rescue (well, not quite rescue, but they helped...), and I loved how the story got resolved.
Very neat, with a bow and extra sprinkles on top. :)

Back to safety

Dave and tasha was a thing since they were teenagers and then things fell apart at 18 and they went separate ways for a decade but then something happened and she needed safety and her bff and the sheriff in the town can do it.
