Every Little Thing by Marie Force
Butler, Vermont series #1. Contemporary romance with erotica elements. Picks up after the Green Mountain series. Can be read as a stand-alone however, many of the secondary characters are from the prior books and play key roles here.
After years of working in a high powered law office in Boston, Grayson Coleman is ready for a less hectic pace and lifestyle. He’s moved to the sleepy little town of Butler in Vermont where he grew up and where cousins and family still find themselves part of the Abbott matchmaking schemes.
Emma Mulvaney and her daughter Simone are visiting Butler, and her sister Lucy. It’s a nice vacation from bustling New York. Meeting Grayson Coleman and feeling an instant level of comfort with him is a surprise. They both want to see if it could become more but her job is in New York as well as her elderly father. Grayson just moved to Butler for a slower pace. What do they want their future to be?

Family and connections are so important. How do you make decisions when your history may have taught you one thing but everyone around you has more positive expectations?
A heart tugging romance. An adorable child for lightness and steamy escape for passion.
Another successful match in Butler. Charming, hot and alluring.

Every Little Thing

Marie Force

Oh how I love this family!! Every time I read about the Abbott family, I want them to adopt me!! I really want to be a part of this funny and huge family! They all have each other's backs and everyone loves everyone! EVERY LITTLE THING is the perfect way to spend the day with this beautiful family and all the antics that go on within it. EVERY LITTLE THING is the first book in the Butler, Vermont series but it really is a continuation of the Green Mountain series.

Grayson has just moved back home to Butler, Vermont and is currently living with his Mom. One evening he meets up with Lucy's sister, Emma and her daughter Simone. Emma and Grayson wind up talking for hours and they tell each other things they have never told anyone else. The spark is instantaneous and both are shocked by it. Emma is only going to be in Butler for about a week and she spends nearly every minute with Grayson. Things are moving very fast and Emma doubts she will see Grayson again once she leaves to go back home. He tries to tell her that it can all work out if she gives them a chance.

Their biggest problem is Emma lives in New York and she has quite the support network there and Grayson just left a big city to open his law practice in small town Butler. EVERY LITTLE THING is going to have your emotions all over the place as Emma and Grayson try to figure things out. Not to mention the drama the other couples are going through as well.

Marie Force is one of my favorite go to authors. I am all up to date with this series and I am working my way through her other ones and they are all wonderful reads. Marie has a way with words that pulls you right in and never lets you go. You are instantly emotionally invested in all the characters lives and you can't help but feeling like they are your old friends by the time you have finished. Marie's stories always leave me with a huge smile on my face, but screaming for more. That's how wrapped up her writing gets me.

Slick's review:

*Just in case readers haven’t seen the information on Marie Force’s Butler, Vermont series; this is a continuation of her popular Green Mountain series; Marie chose to part company with the publisher of the GM series and is opting to self-publish the rest of the books which will include stories for the remaining Abbott siblings as well as their Coleman cousins.

Sometimes a story is a bit too perfect and that is my problem with Every Little Thing. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the characters, the setting (as always), and even the romance between two very deserving people but it felt too easy. I enjoyed this book thoroughly; as always Ms. Force’s writing was strong and sure and while I’m not a fan of overly angst filled books, I do feel that some conflict is needed to give a story that added punch and this book was missing that.

It’s been apparent in the few times we’ve seen Grayson Coleman in books past that he was struggling with the way his life was going and planning to make some changes and in Every Little Thing, we find that he’s left his Boston law practice and has moved home to Butler, Vermont and plans to start his own practice there was well as work as legal counsel for the family business, what he doesn’t count on is a precocious 9 year old girl, Simone, or her beautiful mother, Emma stealing his heart.

I don’t know which story I enjoyed more; the romance and budding love between Grayson and Emma or the friendship/pseudo father-daughter relationship between Grayson and Simone. Both were so important to this story and showed that despite the fact that Grayson had helped raise his younger siblings when his father abandoned their family when he was only 16 and he never thought he’d want children of his own that when the right people come into your life your vision for yourself changes. I did enjoy watching these three form a bond. Grayson and Emma’s relationship moved at the speed of light and while their attraction was evident from the start, for me it felt a bit out of character for Emma. Emma’s daughter Simone stole many scenes and the fact that Simone was comfortable enough to always speak her mind to Grayson, showed a level of trust that isn’t always there when a single parent brings someone in to their lives.

Emma and Simone live in New York and Grayson had just left Boston to relocated to Vermont was built up as a bit of a problem, but in all honesty in never really materialized. In fact these two seemed to have their very own Fairy Godmother (or maybe Fairy Grandfather and Uncle) and a whole team of wish granting mice to clear the way for everything to fall in place nice and neat; albeit a little too nice and neat for me.

Marie Force offers up another satisfying and sexy romance in Every Little Thing and I for one am extremely excited that this series will continue for a good, long time.

Grayson and Emma's Valentine's Day Treat! It's sweet and sexy, full of all those wonderful Abbotts who always have a surprise or two up their sleeves, an encounter with Fred the Moose, and plenty of fun in the snow for all to enjoy. I love this series!

I didn’t realize until the beginning of the book this is a continuation of the Green Mountain series that I love so much. Just with a different series name. I am glad I gave it a shot. I missed these characters.

I like that we got a little of the past characters and new ones as well. Joan Delaware is great for all the female voices and especially the daughters but I didn’t really like her for Grayson she wasn’t bad by any means just wished we had a male narrator for his parts.

Overall I enjoyed and can’t wait to continue this series.

Emma is used to being on her own with Simone, her 9 year old daughter. She has a network of support from friends and her father in New York, but a holiday in Vermont has her dreaming of a different sort of family. After a late night conversation with Grayson, Emma finds herself torn between the life she built and the life she can see.

Grayson stepped in when his father abandoned the family, growing up fast to step into the role of man of the house and helping to raise his siblings. As the oldest sibling, he is used to taking care of those he loves. After years practicing law in Boston, he has decided to slow down his pace and return to Butler to open a practice and enjoy a little more down time.

Neither were expecting to connect so quickly with someone who lived hours away from home. Neither expected to find attraction for someone with vastly differing plans.

These two both have reasons to keep things as they are, pain and struggle from their pasts that have formed them into the adults they are. Grayson always thought his baby days were over, after having helped raised his siblings. Emma thought she had things under control on her own. Her routine with Simone left her little time for socializing with friends or dating, but she wouldn’t trade her time with Simone for a man.

I love Grayson with Simone. Anytime a man steps in to help a single mom and accepts and loves the child as much as and separately from the mother always melts my heart. In this case, it was made all the sweeter by Grayson's previous assertions that he was done raising kids.

Lincoln and Elmer, as usual, make plans and twist the situation to fit their matchmaking ways. Not as many crazy humorous situations as some of the other Green Mountain stories, but the same heartwarming family scenes, with the chaos of this huge family added. Each addition to this family is welcomed wholeheartedly by this huge family. The more the merrier when it comes to Butler and Green Mountain! While this is the first in the Butler, Vermont series, this is not the first time readers have entered the Abbot/Coleman world. Emma and Grayson’s story is the perfect jumping off point for the new series, and I look forward to more from this wild, small town, extended family.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Omg the sweetness in this book!! I have never felt so much emotion! So much love! This is my second book from Marie Force that I have read. So different in comparison. Which is what I love best. It shows just how talented this author is!

Grayson and Emma just might be my new favorite couple. They squeezed my heart so many times!! I could not help but sing in my head when reading certain parts "when a man loves a woman" because YES!! This is EXACTLY how a man should love a woman! Besides all of the sweetness, there is a WHOLE LOTTA STEAM!! It's the perfect recipe for one AMAZING book!! If you want a feel good story, the kind that makes you feel all the things, then head to Butler, Vermont...where you will fall in love!! A MUST read!!

I love this series and hate to admit that a few were a bit of a disappointment.

Grayson and Emma's book is very sweet - sweet as in I need to go to the dentist because I now have multiple cavities.

It was a ride and I absolutely loved it!

Original review: A Novel Glimpse

Note: I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an unbiased review.

Every Little Thing is a book for fans of Marie Force's Green Mountain series. It may be labeled as the first book in the Butler Vermont, but it's really Marie Force's continuation of the Green Mountain series on her own terms.

Every Little Thing is written in Force's traditional style of dual third person narrative. Most of the story is told from Grayson and Emma's perspectives, but there are a few chapters of returning characters' point of views to catch the reader up on their lives. Third person is not my favorite type of narration, but Marie Force is skilled at making it work for her characters and their stories. My only teeny tiny complaint about the narration in this story is the main characters sounded more mature than I expected. The characters were younger than me, but sounded older. I couldn't quite identify with the way they spoke. Maybe it's an East Coast versus West Coast thing. I'm not quite sure.

Emma and Grayson's whirlwind romance was sweet. They knew from almost the moment they met that there was something tangible between them. They acted quickly on that feeling and found an even deeper connection than they expected. Unfortunately, they had a huge hurdle in front of their possible relationship with the distance in their living arrangements. Emma and Grayson had to decide quickly if their instant connection was worth rearranging the lives they had planned for themselves.

While I found Emma and Grayson's relationship sweet, I also found it a little too good to be true. Their instant spark felt a little forced to me. I couldn't believe the lengths both of them were willing to go to after a week together. It wasn't that I didn't like them together, I just needed more time for them to truly fall for each other.

I enjoyed the updates on other Green Mountain friends and family, but I couldn't help but wonder if those chapters took away time that could have been spent on Emma and Grayson's developing relationship and their backstories. I love seeing them and hearing what they are up to, but there are now so many of them that I feel focus is stolen from the main characters. I would rather see these updates through the current character's eyes -- or have returning characters given another book entirely of their own.

Overall, Emma and Grayson's romance was a fun return to Butler, Vermont. I enjoyed getting to know them and learning their stories. I know fans of the Green Mountain series will love that it's being continued and catching up with their old friends.

EVERY LITTLE THING is the first book in the Butler, Vermont series, but it’s just a continuation of the Green Mountain series. It picks up exactly where we left off at the end of AIN’T SHE SWEET, Charley and Tyler’s story. Which is amazing by the way! Beautiful, heartwarming reads that can easily be read as a standalones or as part of the series!

The book starts out with a prologue, taken from the end of AIN’T SHE SWEET so readers can transition between books/series with ease. Grayson is our hero and he is the oldest cousin to the Abbott siblings. He’s a successful lawyer who’s burned out from working in the big city and has come back home to Butler to set up his own practice.

While home, he meets Emma Mulvaney—sister to Lucy who’s engaged to Grayson’s cousin Colton Abbott—and Emma’s daughter Simone. Grayson is immediately enchanted by Simone and her very lovely mother. He’s not looking for a relationship, but can’t seem to stop thinking about or being around Emma. Don’t worry, Grayson is not a weird creeper. He grew up helping raise his siblings and likes kids. Just wanted to point that out :)

Emma has a lot on her plate: full-time job, full-time daughter, zero time for romance. She and Simone are spending time in Butler, having been invited to the wedding of the eldest Abbott sibling, Hunter (yeah, there are a lot of ‘em!). And getting much-needed sister time with Lucy. She wasn’t expecting to fall hard and fast for Grayson Coleman.

EVERY LITTLE THING is a genuine contemporary romance. It’s a story where the impossible can become possible with dedication, work, sacrifice and love. It’ll leave you feeling all warm and mushy inside, and possibly reaching for the tissues!

On a personal note: Every time I read one of these books, it’s like I’m coming home again. The characters and the entire fictional town of Butler, Vermont are family and I love catching up with them and I kinda feel like I’m involved in their lives when I read one of their books. It may sound a little silly I know, but when I’m down and I can’t seem to muster up a smile, I know I can escape for a few hours into Butler and find my happy place again.

This book is so, so sweet.

I'm crazy about this series and the scenery. I love how magical and enticing Butler is. Every time I read about it, I feel this urge to up and move there. I don't care that it's fictional.

I also love how close and helpful the characters are. The whole family is boisterous, nosy, also loving and supportive. They are funny and fiercely loyal and it doesn't matter whom I'm reading about, I'm always in love and craving for more.

In this book, we get to see the love blossoming between Emma, Grayson and, of course, Simone. And it was so adorable.
It was cozy, fullfilling and it melt my heart to read them all loving and trusting in each other.
This author's ability to create a good guy always amazes me and Grayson is one of the best guys. Loyal, protective, hard working and understanding, he left me warm and hopeful.
Emma and Simone were wonderful as well. Their connection was so beautiful, they were partners, soul mates even, and Grayson added beautifully to their tight, little family.

What a magical book. What a wonderful series.

Review at The Book Nympho:

This is the continuation of the much loved (by me) Green Mountain series with a different publisher.  I loved every book and probably should have rated them all higher than I did. Will Abbott from All You Need is Love, book 1, will be my book boyfriend forever. While so many books are quickly forgotten,  I remember these. The relationships of other couples are shared in little vignettes of precious dialogue which touch the heart, scattered in the new book. The characters in the series have become so important to me. The Abbott family with its 10 kids, their cousins and their friends in this small town in Vermont are caring, funny, sexy and interesting.

Emma and her daughter, Simone, were in her sister, Lucy's story, I Saw Her Standing There.  Grayson and Emma jump into a relationship and other than the distance between New York City and Vermont don't have issues with each other. They both have some personal difficulties in their past, so they can understand one another.

I do wish there had been more shared depth of their relationship. It felt a bit insta-love and absolutely insta-sex. Maybe because of the other couples, the child Simone, and the shadows of their past, there was less time focused on the present time together. I would have adored more time with dialogue rather than more time with sex.

The feels are amazing throughout Every Little Thing and the sexy times are naughtier than the previous books. It felt like comfort food - I was nearly in a bliss coma the whole time I read. I know the people, how good they are and the HEA will happen. To me this series is a MUST read, and to follow the relationships read it in order. I do LOVE it, and of course, Fred.

Every Little thing is the title of Book #1 in author Marie Force's new series Butler, Vermont. This is actually a continuation of her Green Mountain series so all the characters from that series who readers have come to love appear in this story. Plus we get to find out lots more about the Coleman cousins as well as the Abbotts. In this book Marie delights her readers with the romance of Grayson Coleman, eldest of the Coleman siblings who has decided to leave his lucrative law practice in Boston to return home to Butler, Vermont and New Yorker and single mother Emma Mulvaney whose sister Lucy is married to Colton Abbott. Grayson and Emma meet in the previous book, Ain't She Sweet, at the wedding of Hunter Abbott and Megan Kane when Emma's sweet nine-year-old daughter, Simone starts a conversation with Grayson about drinking scotch. Emma walks over and sparks fly. So the romance begins.

Marie Force has combined all the elements of a well-written novel in this story. The storyline flows well. The characters are well-developed, realistic and likable. Their interactions are fun and delightful to read about. The dialogue is one of the best elements of the story. The banter back and forth between siblings and cousins is animated and funny. Plus the conversations between Grayson and Simone are precious. All this adds up to an excellent story. You won't want to miss out on this one.

Grayson Coleman has just moved home to Butler, Vermont after spending years working for a high-powered law firm in Boston. He’s looking for a simpler, less stressful existence in the sleepy little mountain town where he grew up with his siblings and Abbott cousins.
Emma Mulvaney is enjoying a break from her reality as a busy single mother in New York City while she and her adorable daughter, Simone, spend the holidays in Vermont with Emma's sister, Lucy, and Lucy’s future in-laws, the Abbotts.
The two meet and it's...well it's love at first sight and a second chance at love.
I had forgotten just how much I missed the large Abbott family. They are the quintessential large family where everyone knows everything about each other and they all have each other's backs. The Butler Vermont series is a continuation of the Green Mountain series and everyone is there, including Linc and Elmer and their matchmaking schemes. Even Fred the moose makes an appearance.
I have yet to read a book by Ms. Force I did not adore, and I look forward to many more book in this new, but familiar series. Bravo!

I ended up skimming a lot of this. The whole book spanned a period of a few weeks. Everything between this couple happened at the speed of light. It didn't wash for me. Real people don't make massively huge life changing decisions this quickly, or admit their deepest, most intensely personal secrets to someone they barely know.

I enjoyed catching up with others in the series, and hopefully I'll enjoy some of the upcoming books, especially looking forward to Noah, but I hope the author keeps it more real. This author has written some really great books, but this one did not measure up in my opinion.

All I can say is, Marie Force books are like fine wine, the older it gets, the better it is! Read this for a second time and laughed, teared up, and aww'd more than I did the first time.

Elmer and Linc continue their streak with Grayson and Emma (although Ella spoiled that a bit by taking the bull by the horns and bagging Gavin with very little help from the master matchmakers!) and their story did not disappoint! Theirs is a story of resiliency, love, hope, and kindness. They are funny together, sexy individually and together, and their love of family is tops. Also, I've always loved stories that involve kids and Simone is truly a delight. She holds her own in the Force world of witty lines and sweet moments.

Getting updates on the other characters is always so much fun. I was touched by Nolan and Hannah's tribute to Caleb and I'm so looking forward to reading about them in the books to come. Colton and Lucy have a wedding date! Yey! One of personal favorites in this book: getting to see Gavin in a lighthearted moment! And what about Ella with the swearing??!!! Hilarious! Lucas and Landon --- still crack me up. And Max, so sweet with baby Caden. Then, what is up with Ray and Hannah, huh? I hope to see more of them and Hannah finally getting some happiness. Ray, too, after losing Lucy and Emma's mom.

Every Little Thing is another winner Marie! Such a great addition to the Abbott/Coleman stories. You can change the series title but the amazing stories remain! Thank you for giving us Emma and Grayson and Simone. They have become some of my very favorite Butler characters!

PS. LMAO at Simone getting ready to be a bag lady as an adult!

Absolutely loved Grayson and Emma's story....Once I started I couldn't put it down. I was feel like I am catching up with old friends every time I read one of these books. Its Sweet and Sexy with a lot of LOL moments. I loved catching up with all the Abbotts and laughed at all the scheming Linc and Elmer do to help find that special loved one for each one of the kids. Marie force just has a way to pull you into the story and not want to put it down. Excellent job!
