Crime Never Pays… Well yes and no depending on what side of the fence you’re on!

I’ve always had a strong passion for whodunnits, crime series, and books. The more I immersed myself in it, the stronger the fascination grew.

In my spare time, you’ll find me in the gym, reading, binge watching Netflix or taking walks in the forest.

Oh, and I’m an avid people watcher, I just love to watch people, their mannerisms, and their way of expressing their thoughts… weird I know, but I could spend hours doing that. It's funny, because watching people often gives me insights and inspiration for describing human interaction in my books.

Fun fact: My favourite, bestest place ever on earth? Any of the Florida theme parks and the mad coasters out there. Add the food, shopping and weather, and you've got the best place on earth... especially when I see the joy on the faces of my family when we're out there :)

Weird fact: Spending an afternoon in a mortuary to bring my books to life. Oops! poor choice of words there :)

I hope you enjoy the stories I craft for you.

Good read.

Bit of a slow start I felt but I soon got into it.
I felt for Lori in the book loosing her husband but she stuck to her guns to get answers she so rightly wanted and deserved.

I guess if someone had never ever read a mystery-thriller before they might find this book intriguing and be surprised by the unveiling of the villain; however, I have read a ton of books of this genre and this is a generic, derivative snoozefest filled with stereotypes and cliches. Totally unoriginal and dully written. Written (as if) by beginners, for beginners. Even the title is cringeworthy. I will give my usual comment of "it's like a bad TV movie of the week starring some D-list actors" because it doesn't deserve any better. I can't think of one redeeming thing about it.

I am usually a fan of books that hint of a mystery that's been forgotten because the main character suffers amnesia brought on by a car accident, but I am so sorry I spent the time and money on this book. You Saw Too Much was repetitive and lacking in content and character development. It seems like the author(s) took every cliche from every bad suspense novel and compiled them into this one book. The attempt to show a steady campaign of gaslighting of the main character could have been better developed but never was. The scenes were so discordant in the way they swayed from the main character's fear to sudden bravery; from naivete to sudden insight that it was so incredibly unbelievable .

Painfully Bad
I READ too much.
Once the mystery behind the main character ‘s amnesia was divulged, I stopped reading. I absolutely hated her, and none of the characters were likable or believable. And my god, please do not take pages and pages to describe emotion!! What could have been said in one paragraph, this author used a chapter! It became tedious, repetitive, and melodramatic. I couldn’t have cared less what happened in the rest of the book. Awful.

Somehow I ended up buying another book by this author. It was marginally better than Hush but if you never read it you're not missing much. Implausible and full of cliches and every 'thriller' trope you've ever encountered.

This was pretty good and rattled along well. I'll definitely read the next one, though I'm pretty disappointed to see it is only 156 pages. I din't usually download anything under 200 pages as it's not long enough for me.
The opening scenes were reminiscent of the film Duel to me. I liked Lori though she seemed a bit slow on the uptake at times and took a lot of unnecessary risks. She was pretty rude and abrupt with people as well.
The writing irritated me somewhat as they would get words or grammar correct and then suddenly they didn't. The biggest example, and a proper hero-to-zero moment was when I highlighted discernible being spelt properly, as it so rarely is, only to find further in that they then spelt it the same way so many do, the wrong way-discernable !! Really disappointing.
Barb was Barb then Barbs and one minute Lori was at a motel, morphing into a hotel and then back again. Loafs should be loaves, parking not packing, she not he, eye not eyes, trod and not treaded, or used and not of and we had words missed from sentences like to/a. After party needs a hyphen, too.
This aside, I've seen far worse presentation, trust me. I just hope they will write a longer instalment next.

You Saw Too Much is book one in the new series by Jay Nadal, and Adam Nicholls called Lori Turner Series. Lori thought she had everything a job she loved, a husband and a beautiful home until a car accident robbed her of everything she held dear. Trying to recover from her ordeal, she believed someone was following her. However, her family and friends do not believe her. The readers of You Saw Too Much will continue to follow Lori Turner to find out what happens.

You Saw Too Much is a fantastic start to a new series by Jay Nadal in partnership with Adam Nicholls. I enjoy Jay and Adam's writing style, allowing me to engage with the story and characters. I love Jay Nadal and Adam Nicholls's portrayal of the characters and their interactions. You Saw Too Much is well-written and researched by Jay Nadal and Adam Nicholls. I like Jay Nadal and Adam Nicholls's description of the settings of You Saw Too Much, which complements the book's plot.

You Saw Too Much, readers will learn about PTSD and its problems for the suffering and those around them. Also, the readers of You Saw Too Much will understand the importance of believing in yourself and continuing to fight for justice.

I recommend this book.

Entertaining, a fast read

The story started out strong with drama, mystery and good character development. As the plot deepened however, the protagonist's actions strained credulity. Events sometimes played out in a farfetched, predictable manner. That said, it was a fun read, fast paced, with good guys, bad guys and lots of action.

You Saw Too Much by Adam Nicholls

This book is gripping, thrilling, chilling and we'll written. Lori and Sam have both gotten off work early to have a picnic in the small, quaint town of Castleford, Connecticut. She wanted to give him the special surprise that he was going to be a father. While they were driving, a black Dodge Ram ran them off the road, walked up to the car and killed Sam. Lori passed out and some up in the hospital. When she wakes up, she has a head injury and can't remember if what she thinks she saw was real. Then a sinister force is at work trying to make her think she is losing her mind. She starts picking up clues such as her house being broken into to let her know something very weird is going on. Her adventure to find the truth turns deadly and frightening!!! You will want to stay up all night to see the nightmare she starts living.

When every moment, every thought, every movement is abundantly delivered in endless reportage, you know it's gone too far. That said, along the way, there were some real humdingers. Exceedingly wordy and metaphor rich, the authors might have saved some of it to create emphasis, impact. All in all, I had fun with it.

I read too much of this book. There, I said it. The first quarter was okay, slow but I expected it to pick up along the lines somewhere. By halfway, still nothing much had actually happened - we had a bad accident, we had the fallout - and then nothing. Just a woman seemingly losing her mind and a host of people who didn’t believe her life was in danger. No one really seemed to know where the book was headed, least of all the authors.

A book has to be truly horrific for me to rate it just one star, although this came painfully close. I just didn’t have the patience for the cliches and the character development was shoddy. This is one series I won’t be continuing.

You Saw Too Much by Adam Nicholls and Jay Nadal

On the day their car was pushed of the road, Lori's world fell apart. Not only was her loving husband Sam killed but she also lost the baby she was carrying.
At first she couldn't remember what had happened but bit by bit the memory of that fatal day started to come back to her. The local policeman Chief Reynolds didn't believe her story, telling her that it was her mind playing tricks, she was probably suffering from PTSD and she should see a counsellor. Then she had a feeling that she was being followed, but again everyone including her sister thought it was all in her mind.
Not only does she try to prove them wrong, putting her life in danger, but she also needs to find out why it happened.
This was a great thriller with a brilliant twist I didn't see coming at the end.
I have no hesitation in recommending this book and it gets five stars from me.
This is my honest and unbiased review

Don't miss this one!

This is a thriller with a lot of emotion included. I cried at the end. Lori lost her husband and unborn child in a terrible car accident. She shuts herself away as she grieves for her loss. She refuses to go to a counselor. As she recovers, bits and pieces of the accident start coming back to her and she realizes her husband was murdered, their car deliberately run off the road. She sets out to prove it but nobody - her sister, her doctor, and local law enforcement - believes her. They think she's paranoid and making things up.

This one started a bit slow but once it picked up I couldn't put it down. It was highly entertaining and well worth the time and money spent!

I picked You Saw Too Much owing to its simple yet peculiar title - simple since it lays out the plot in just four words, the protagonist saw something bad happening and knowingly or unknowingly also saw the perpetrator, and peculiar because it intrigued me to find out how the story unfolds. Full marks for the title.

But maybe that's the only thing the author nailed. The plot is as thin as a see-through plastic sheet. There is very little left for suspense since the antagonist is easy to identify in the very beginning of the story itself. Maybe they should have introduced a few more characters just to throw more plausible options at the reader, thus maintaining the mystery for as long as possible.

As far as the writing is concerned, it is shallow too. For instance, a single phrase is used to describe a thing or a situation at more than one place in the book. Now, I am no expert, but pretty sure there are at least as many ways to describe the same thing or situation in the English language as many times they were repeated throughout the book. When repetition doesn't support the plot, or thickens it somehow, it just shows a lack of research of vocabulary (for the lack of a better word) on the author's part.

Will I pick up the next book in the series? Some time in the future maybe. I have better mysteries to read at the moment.

Verdict: Read for the thrill, not the mystery.

Skip it

There were too many things that were implausible in this book to make me give it a good rating. The authors spend way too much time on trying to convince the reader the main character is going crazy. It became boring and repetitive after awhile. The ending is ludicrous, but I can't say much about it without spoiling it. Just skip it--there are plenty of better thriller novels out there.

This book was okay, it kept me interested enough to keep me reading to the end. The character development wasn't that great and there was a lot of unnecessary dialog. Lori was being gaslighted, and that took up most of the book. I was getting tired of Lori's crazy. When the action finally revved up, it was very unrealistic. There is a book 2, the continuation of Lori's story. Sadly, I have no interest in reading it.

What will you like? Thriller is a mild word for this book! Interesting, Intriguing, haunting, vigilante justice, fascinating, exciting, there are so many more descriptions that would apply to this book, but I will stop there. This truly is another phenomenal thriller by two amazing authors. I received this from the author for an honest review with no other compensation.

Firstly, thanks to Netgalley, the publishers and author for a free ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

You Saw Too Much follows the tragic story of Lori Turner as she deals with the grief of losing her husband and unborn child in a car accident. But was it an accident, or something more sinister? Lori finds herself trying to unravel the mystery of the accident while dealing with her fragile mental state. Once she finds the truth, she embarks on a mission to seek justice against the forces behind the death of her family.

This book is a great study of how an individual could be affected but such heavy loss and the effects it can have on their mental state, ranging from depression to paranoia, anger and even changes to a person's personality. Unfortunately, I felt it took too long to go through those emotions - about half of the book. At that point, things became interesting again, with Lori taking matters into her own hands. I'm glad I stuck at it as, overall, this turned out to be a good read. It earns a solid 3.5 stars from me.

The writing was very good, and the main characters were relatable, even evoking the appropriate frustrations with the nosy townsfolk and inaction from the town police chief.

I seem to have had this book sat on my Kindle forever so thought it was about time to bump it up my pile and read it. The story centres around Lori whose world is ripped apart and is trying to come to terms with her loss. She knows that deep down something more sinister is behind the accident that took her husband from her but no one believes her.

You can feel Lori’s frustration build throughout with no one taking her fears seriously. I liked Lori’s character of a vulnerable yet strong willed woman whose fight for justice gives her something to focus on. The book has a small town feel and the cast of characters is relatively small.

You Saw Too Much is a crime thriller that whilst it doesn’t throw out any real surprises, it’s still a solid read that kept me entertained. It’s a bit like a David and Goliath story with Lori having everything fall on her shoulders as the more she learns, the less people believe her which leaves her with no choice but to try and solve this particular crime for herself. I believe this is the first book to feature Lori. Am not quite sure where the story will go from here as everything is wrapped up nicely but will be interesting to see what is next in store for her.

Castleford, CT. Sam Turner (husband, son, Castleford Times writer/reporter) had been in a tragic car wreck & died & Lori Turner (wife, PTSD, paranoid) had been hospitalized.
Nancy (sister, lawyer, JD, PA) came to see Lori.
Wilton Park Green bench. Who did Lori meet there?
Lori was now on the run.
Betty & Lori had both suffered 2 personal family losses.
What did Lori confront Robert “Bobby” Ellis about?

What did Chief Joe Reynolds (Castleford PD) know?

An awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very professionally written cozy cop crime thriller book. It was extremely easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great description list of unique characters, settings, facts etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great cop crime thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. Not as exciting as I hoped so I will only rate it at 4/5 stars.

Thank you for the free author (s); 282publishing; Amazon Digital Services LLC.; book.

A good story but tedious in parts

You Saw Too Much is the tale of a young woman who loses eberything she holds dear in one night because of the purposeful act of one man! Sam was a journalist who had investigated, with the aid of another reporter, the illegal activities of a booming business in the town in which he and his wife, Lori, lived. Their car was attacked by a black Dodge truck, resulting in a terrible roll-over accident which killed Sam and caused Lori to lose their unborn child. Lori's dispair is over worked and etched into the reader's mind, ad nauseum. One feels bad for her loss, but it is pushed at the reader too much. She finally begins to investigate the local company whose goon caused her husband's death. It is at this part that the story gains the stars it earned. I may skip the subsequent novels because I found too much milling in self pity. The circumstances are just too deep in melodrama to keep my interest in following the character developed here!

Something A Little Off Like Author And Women

This book started becoming offensive to me as a woman. I don't like authors that depict us as brainless idiots who can only exist if they create a knight in shing armor or BMW to save us because we keep not uthinking out the future and do dumb things. This is what the two male authors do to the main female character in this story and in the prequel provided for the next book. Within the first few pages they turn her into a complete idiot again.

This type of portrayal of women is quite disturbing to women all over the world. Hey your mother had to teach you which end of a spoon to use and not to poop in your pants. Maybe that is the reason as one of you say...you only see your daughters on a certain schedule. If your attitude towards women in your books overflows to life...lord help the females in your life. I dont advise reading this book or any written by these two authors that demean women so subtly over and over.

I really enjoyed this book, however, I can only give it 4 stars because I figured the villain out way too early on, thus making it a little too predictable for me! However that being said this story still manages to keep you on a rollercoaster ride of mystery and chilling events
Lori and Sam were a happily married couple until the accident that claimed Sam's life, but was it really an accident? Lori does not think so, and she starts trying to search for answers coming up with little to go on and no support from friends and family who all swear she is delusional and dealing with the remnants of PTSD from this tragic event. Will she ever find out the answers or is she just leading herself on a wild goose chase , or is it becoming more dangerous because she knows too much??
Honestly a great unputdownable story,!

This feels like a debut novel, but it wasn't. It was so slow, and the passages were tedious. There were no surprises. Everything was expected. Cliche, trite, banal... you get the point? None of the characters were likeable. I could not roll my eyes any harder at the last few chapters if I tried.

I feel like I've seen this movie a million times. Husband is murdered, made to look like an accident, wife discovers the why/who, and sets out to turn them in. It could have been spiced up a lot, many things could have been done. Instead it unveiled like there was a list with boxes being checked.

The writing itself was a huge turn off. It felt slow. Many redundant sentences and phrases. This story could have been told within 120 pages. I will not be checking out these authors again.

Short Take: Gripping, fast paced, action thriller.

Is it insanity if people around you stop believing your words, when they ring true to you? Whom do you trust? Yourself or 'professionals'? At some point, you take a stance - for good or bad - to either believe in yourself or believe in others. And Lori had to make that choice when fate decided to pluck its proverbial pie from the top of her life. Playing a game of shadows, literally, walking the line of terror and grit, she manages to face those shadows.

The plot is not great or new, the suspense was seen from a mile far, but the narrative was interesting enough to push me till the end.
