Once a month on the first day of the full moon I turn into an uncontrollable 400-pound, seven foot killing machine with teeth like daggers and foot-long claws.
My name is Ded Brenner … and I am NOT a werewolf.
And rest assured – when I catch up to the people that did this to me … well, let’s just say – Click, click, boom, BOOM!

Brenner wasn’t a werewolf.

He was the result of a secret US Army experiment called The Bloodborn Project. An attempt to create a government controlled Super Soldier.

The only thing was, no one asked him if he wanted to participate.

So, he had escaped. And for the last fifty years he had been living on the backroads, and in the unknown small towns of America. Never aging. Searching for a cure for his affliction, while at the same time avoiding the dark ops experts who were looking to reacquire him.

But just because he had the ability to become a seven foot, four hundred pound killing machine, didn’t mean that Brenner was bad. In fact, he lived his life according to a strict code –

Never abuse a woman, nor hurt a child. Do not lie, cheat or steal. These things are for lesser men. Protect the weak against the evil strong. And never allow thoughts of gain to lead you into the pursuit of evil.’

And anyone who transgressed the Wolfman’s strict moral code was sure to have a bad time.

Because they would soon discover that, sometimes the things that go bump in the night are real.

Brenner – for when bad things need to happen to bad people.

Synopses:
The synopsis of the first book, Wolf Man:

Brenner is not a werewolf...

He is the result of a secret US Army experiment. The creation of a government controlled Super Soldier.

And no one asked if he wanted to take part.

So, he escaped. And for the last fifty years has been living in the backroads and the small unknown towns of America. Never aging. Searching for a cure. At the same time avoiding the dark ops experts who are looking for him.

But just because he can become a seven foot, four hundred pound killing machine, it doesn't mean that Brenner is bad. In fact, he sticks to a strict code.

And like the High Plains drifters of old, anyone who crosses the Wolfman's code is sure to suffer.

They took his humanity ... and now it's time for payback.

Synopsis of Wolf Warrior:

The story of Brenner and Griff continues in this book. A couple of old army buddies. Vietnam veterans. One old and one young. One human, one wolf. Together they fight evil. The bad guys this time is a group of crazy augmented nazi fanatics. A screw up by that same vietnam military group who experimented on Ded because they never stopped experimenting and now their creations are on the loose!

The synopsis of the first book was taken from GoodReads at https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36178703-wolf-man on 14/06/2021. The synopsis of the current book, Wolf Warrior, is provided by me.

Hemah

My Thoughts:
I am still mourning Lenny's death and we are starting to see that the supposedly good guys are not really the good guys but self-serving egomaniacs who hijacked the military for their own purposes.

This time around Griff and Ded are no longer travelling together. Ded is once again a lone wolf and he got more baddies to contend with. Powerful baddies like him. And we are getting to see more of Solomon here.

This is the first book in this series that does not have an audiobook format. So I have to read it the old fashioned way. Annoying!!

I like the twist in the ending. I say twist even though I kinda saw it coming a mile away. The author nay sign-posted the reader to it! And with this book the angels and demons angle has firmly been introduced into this series...

If Wolf Killer is the shortest book in this series, this could possibly be the second shortest at 234 pages as opposed to the "full books" that were the first two books at approximately 400 pages long. But I'm not really complaining because I did get the full enjoyable reading experience that the "full books" had. But it did brought the pacing down a little because the reason that this book got read quickly is not only because it was fast paced, although the pace was relatively fast, but also because this book was short.

Still a violent read, not recommended for young readers.

Empirical Evaluation:

Character development = 4.5
Story itself = 4.5
Writing Style = 4.5
Ending = 4.5

Great series!

Each book is better than the last! Whenever I started a book in this series I had a real hard time putting it down. I hope the author reads the reviews on his books, because I would really, really, really like him to keep writing more in this series! Thank you!!

I finally found an author that depicts a werewolf that I actually like but with a great need of improving his characters depictions, the author is trying to sell us some redemption for Salomon, the guy that would happily massacre a whole town of bystander just to get information but his assistance the guy that from the first time that has been introduced we have seen how uncomfortable he is with this behavior, turns out to be an evil bastard to his core, but not the mass killer of the pair? Seriously?? A little forced if you ask me, not to mention how this Project Bloodborn keeps showing how incapable they are, despite their success, how they are trying to elevate subject to metahuman status without implementing some sort of control system over said subjects is just staggering. And let me not enter into the stupid showcase of foreign leadership.

Another superb offering!

Awesome ! If you like werewolves, action, and thrills, this whole series is for you. Wolf Warrior brings a whole new light to what is already one fantastic series. I was floored by this new revelation in Brenners
abilities as a shifter. Well done Craig Serf, well done. I eagerly await the next offering in the life of Brenner, whats next in store for this warrior of justice ? ( hurry, please ).

Look, I've really enjoyed this series BUT this book just wasn't up to par. A well written character like Brenner doesn't just suddenly break mode and allow a seemingly defenseless girl [of all things] to accompany him on dangerous outings. Just doesn't work based on his character up to this point. Other than that, a decent book and look forward to more when Craig gets around to writing another Project Bloodborn.

Excellent read!

It has been great reading this series. As with the first three, this book is action packed, build on the previous books to expose more about Brenner. One negative, I'm not sure when Shadow have Brenner the serum that caused him to loose control of his wolf. Maybe I missed it somewhere but that issue was confusing. Still, overall loved reading this book. Now on to book five 😃

Project Bloodborn, the outfit formerly running Brenner before he escaped their clutches, continued experimenting on people in order to make super soldiers.
Unfortunately for them a group of hyena men escape and are tearing a bloody swath wherever they roam. Brenner has settled down in a small Montana town where he is recruited to help put them down

Great Read, Great Series

Derd Brenner has bad people to take out, but doesn't want to change to his wolf form for fear of not being able to control himself from killing all around him, including innocents. How will he resolve this when he meets the new enhanced? He rescuers a girl who has a strange affect on him. I like the action and humor. I look forward to another book.

Brenner wolf kicks butt.

I like that Brenner tries to keep his humanity and only killing the truly evil. The stories are believable, as humans are the most evil species of all. The characters are different in each h story but they have all tied in together so far. I'm looking forward to reading the next book. I'm hoping Brenner will be able to stop running and be happy.

This series is so exciting and fascinating I keep having to go to the next book. This one I specifically liked that Brenner and Solomon were working together. I like that the chapters are not long and it flies by taking me only a couple of days to read the whole book, always wanting to know what happened next.

The fourth in the series is the best. Excellent ending.

This novel wraps the story well. We now now know what the watchers were watching. There are still questions. Who is Shadow?

This was an excellent series. Quick not to the author a GySgt. is a marine corps rank not navy. Also, if you retire from the USMC as a PFC then there is a major problem. On the upside I loved this world!

The Colonels newest creations has escaped. More terrible than anything created before. The only one capable of stopping them is Brennerwolf but Brenner is afraid to let the wolf out. And that could doom them all.

Great book

Zerf seems to be at the top of his craft. He manages to take a premise with very little fat to begin with and skinny his writing down a pace that maximizes action. Masterful.
