Please explain to me how the hell this can be a romance, or how this guy can redeem himself ?!

First, I rarely leave reviews this long. Probably because I think most get bored after awhile but I have some things to say...
A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.
***I don't believe I'm about to reveal anything because nothing surprising really happens but just in case I say something while I'm venting.... Spoilers May Occur!***
Maybe it was the excitement I was feeling for this books arrival that made me give it 5 stars right after finishing But I'm changing my star score from 5* to 2*. Which is very bad for me. I practically throw 5 & 4 stars out at books. Two stars mean I hated the book but stomached it long enough to finish it.
I LOVED Furious Rush so much! I loved Hayden and Kenzie's relationship. I loved Hayden for being driven and being a good boy who wanted the best for his girl and his "family". I loved Kenzie for being a strong and determined woman. In my Furious Rush review I wrote,
I really loved Kenzie. I didn't know if I was going to because I couldn't stand Kiera from Thoughtless. But Kenzie was strong and definitely confident and that made her someone I wanted to read about.
Well, in this book she is just like Kiera. She is whiny, pathetic and ignorant to what everyone else is doing to her and around her. She has let her father blacklist her and treat her like shit without once raising her voice to him. <--See, no longer standing up for herself and her LIFELONG dream! Now, @58% Hayden is obviously still in love with his ex girlfriend who has popped back into his life after FOUR years. It seemed to me he kept reminding himself he was in love with Kenzie because he had to. NOT because he did. I was so aggravated with his internal dialogue of " Why did you leave me?" "Why did you run again?" Then, when he and Kenzie had sex at 54% he imagines her being Felicia and admitting to himself and us readers "He loved it". I was disgusted. He's constantly lying and being shady but don't worry about Kenzie...She is going to be ok because she continues to let him act this way as long as she gets to sleep with him because he sure is sexy! Yep, pathetic.
I hated this book and I'm heartbroken because I loved the first one as much as I did. Apparently, from looking at its reviews, I was alone there!
The book only had 25% left when all the "bad guys get redeemed" and the inevitable breakup that leads to the HEA occurs. I suppose this part of the novel was pretty good. Unfortunately, I'd been annoyed by the first 75%, that it was a case of too little too late.
One final thought... This is something that pissed me off a lot in Furious Rush but since it was so great to me I overlooked it...WHY does Kenzie's own father feel he needs to do such horrific things to her to teach her a lesson? Especially, when all she did was fall in love. But his other daughter DEMANDS the extremely expensive wedding of her dreams and he gives it to her at the cost of his whole entire livelihood?!?!? She knows he's losing his company and still asks for more, not like it was cheap to begin with. Then, when Kenzie falls for Hayden this sister says she's selfish!!! I can't believe an author like S.C. Stephens thought "Hey, I have a great thing to put in this story!" Not!! Personally, I can't understand why Kenzie cares what dear old dad thinks anymore. He has never acted like he likes her anyway.... Even before Hayden was his issue.
Ugh, I'm honestly sadly disappointed.

4.5 "You're My World" Stars!
Mackenzie Cox is a professional motorcycle racer living in Oceanside, California. Racing had always been her dream, & she didn't have a Plan B, so she didn't know what to do when everything she loved was abruptly stripped away. Cox racing closed & her father gave her an ultimatum, and made her choose between her boyfriend and competing. Kenzie chose Hayden & is now left without a team. She's trying everything she can to get on a team before the new season starts, but her dad blacklisted her & blocked her from the sport she loves. Her father pulled a lot of strings to make sure she was rejected, & nobody would take her. She'd lost everything but Hayden & felt like she was drowning without her family & career. To make matters worse, Hayden's ex girlfriend is hired to race on his team, & Kenzie is forced to watch from the sidelines as Felicia lives the life Kenzie had to give up. Kenzie just wants her old life back & be able to also be with the man she loves.
Hayden Hayes is a former street racer who is now racing legitimately for Benneti Motorsports. His ex who he hasn't seen in four years shows up out of the blue & complicates his life by causing tension in his relationship with his girlfriend Kenzie. Kenzie is the only person in his life that stuck by his side & put him first. He had a sense of belonging when he was with her. She had become his home, & he'd do anything to keep her. He wanted to find a way to help her compete again. She belonged on a bike & he'd do whatever it took to get her there. He felt responsible & wanted to fix things for her.
-Very few people understood me like she did- our interests, our competitiveness, our tragic pasts, our fiery passion- it was like she was designed specifically for me. Thank God fate had put us on a path toward each other.
-She was the most beautiful thing in the world to me.
-She was mine, and I had no intention of ever giving her up. Not without a fight.
-"You mean everything to me, Kenzie."
-"You're my heart, my soul, my everything."
-"You belong wherever I am."
Racing, the thing that brought them together, was now a touchy subject. Hayden tried to be supportive while Kenzie continued trying to pick up the pieces of her life. He had something incredible with Kenzie & wouldn't give it up, but suddenly everything & everyone seemed to be conspiring against them. Their relationship is strained, & things begin to fall apart. Will love be enough when secrets and lies are revealed?
I really enjoyed this book & cant wait for the next one. This book was full of angst & love. I can't get enough of the delicious Hayden Hayes!

This is a trilogy following the same couple. I only read this book (#2), for the angst and OW drama. I saw it rec'ed in a FB group and this one didn't disappoint. I got exactly what I was looking for. Did it feel like I was missing some backstory? Yes, quite a bit obviously bcus I skipped book 1 where the H/h meet and fall in love. It didn't bother me, bcus again, I only came for the betrayal theme, and it was my choice to skip the previous book. The ending is a happy one but not a HEA.
It seems like ages since I read a book by Ms. Stephens. I love the Thoughtless series, it's still a favorite today. I enjoyed the writing very much here too. The main characters hooked me right away, as did the story. I will definitely come back for a reread. I'll probably be reading book 3 tonight.
I'm rounding up to 5 Stars bcus the angsty cheating theme deserves some love and appreciation LOL. Some of the reviews, YIKES. HATERS GONNA HATE, AND AIN'TERS GONNA AIN'T.
About the cheating part: it's emotional cheating and it's angsty AF. Super satisfying!

Beyond disgusting. Hayden is scum, and how are we meant to believe he loves Kenzie when he is more turned on by recurring his ex when they have sex? And he wishes he could keep his ex from leaving? Sorry I had no faith in their romance. Plain gross. Mind you I saw what this author was about after the Thoughtless Series, which was abysmal, with self absorbed characters.

Nope. Hero is a cheater, both emotionally (still has major feelings for his ex, pictures his ex when having sex with our h in a graphic gratuitous way) and physically (kisses the ex and goes out basically on dates with her while committed to our h). This is just a God-awful story and the H isn’t redeemable. It turned my stomach reading his thoughts, and I have A LOT of different genres/tropes. It takes a lot to turn my stomach, but I couldn’t even read about him without a grimace on my face.

Seeing her was like walking outside into the fresh air after being cooped up in a stagnant room all day long—I could finally breathe again.
I MELTED into a puddle of goo. Hayden's words made me SWOON so hard! Sweet sigh.
Hayden, the green-eyed and gorgeous blond racing god, so broken and beautiful, OWNED ME since Furious Rush. I FELL IN MADLY IN LOVE WITH HAYDEN HAYES AGAIN!!! There was a time or two I wanted to junk-punch this sometimes mixed-up man in this story though. I could not hate Hayden, as I was helpless to his spell. Hayden had my heart.
Kenzie, the brunette beauty, oh how I loved her as much as Hayden and even more in Dangerous Rush. She grew up so much in this story, shining solo with determination and dominance that I greatly admired. Kenzie has strength in spades and is one of the strongest heroines ever.
Kenzie and Hayden are MAGIC together, and I was mesmerized by this magnetic couple. Their relationship is full of fire fueled by love. I LOVE them both so much!
Giving me a devilish grin, she murmured,
"Race me or chase me, Hayes," then she took off like a bolt of lightning.
God, I loved racing this woman.
Hot, heart-pounding, and utterly hypnotizing, Dangerous Rush is the highest of highs meets the lowest of lows. This book BREATHED LIFE into me while it BLED ANGST through me. While I'm already a huge fan of SC Stephens, what made me most excited for this book was the fact that I absolutely LOVED Furious Rush, the first book in this series. After the cliffhanger in the last book, I have been dying to pick up this sequel.
Kenzie's life has always revolved around racing. Until it didn't. Kenzie has lost everything except for Hayden Hayes, the love of her life. Kenzie thought, without a doubt, that Hayden was worth more than her racing career, but as Hayden has been keeping more and more secrets from her, Kenzie starts to question her decision and if she can really live without racing ever again.
My heart! While Furious Rush revolved around the hate to love relationship with Hayden and Kenzie, this book dealt with the much more emotional side of their relationship. Kenzie has lost racing, which put a more serious tone to this book. There wasnt as much of the fun banter and racing adrenaline that filled the first book because Kenzie now has to deal with the repercussions of her decisions from book one. This was so hard to read because Kenzie was hurting so much and it felt so unfair with what was happening to her. No matter how much it hurt, though, I really appreciated how realistic SC Stephens was and how she wasn't afraid to show the cracks and flaws in the relationship between our main characters.
I loved Dangerous Rush, but for very different reasons than why I loved Furious Rush. Furious Rush had so much angst because Kenzie and Hayden hated each other, but they had serious chemistry and loved pushing each other on the race track. In this book, Kenzie and Hayden were already together, but there was a sense of urgency and desperation in their relationship because so many factors were working against them and Kenzie especially was trying to remind herself why it was worth all of the sacrifice and heartbreak. I loved how realistic their relationship was in this book and how many trials Kenzie and Hayden had to face.
In the end, I loved this sequel to one of my favorite sports romances from SC Stephens. I had my favorite couple back, but my heart was taken on a ride as their relationship was tested time and time again. I got the racing world I loved and all of the same characters I fell in love with in the first book. If you haven't started this series yet, you must! With a hot relationship that turns very emotional, you're missing out on a fantastic story!

The first half of the book is told primarily from Hayden’s POV.
I really struggled with this one. I hated how this story progressed. The ex-girlfriend (Felicia) came back and took up 75% of the book. Hayden, apparently still in love with Felicia, was a horrible boyfriend to Kenzie. She literally gave up EVERYTHING to be with him. Her racing career. Her family. Her dreams. And how does Hayden repay her? By lusting after Felicia. Getting butterflies when she was near. Remembering how great they were together. How hot and explosive their sex life was. Texting with her behind Kenzie's back. He even imagines its Felicia while he's having sex with Kenzie. And "he's never been that turned on before". This scene made me sick to my stomach. I just couldn't forgive him after that.
But then Kenzie breaks up with him after he's caught in all his lies. THEN Hayden realizes he DOES want Kenzie and not Felicia. And maybe Felicia WASN'T his true love. Ugh. Spare me.

OMG just finished Dangerous Rush by S.C. Stephens. "THE FEELS!!!!!!!!!!"
The entire book is fucking angst. My heart couldn't stop pounding. I wanted to throw my fucking kindle and I felt at times I was dying inside. I started this book last night but had to put it down at midnight because I had to work in the am. And yeah went to work for the morning and I needed to read so yeah I fucking took the afternoon off to come home and finish it. Yup just went and emailed my boss and said yeah I'm taking the afternoon. I had to do it.
Like a bad train wreck happening but you can't stop watching and it gives you all the damn feels.
You know that meme here this book brutally ripped my heart out read it. Yes yes that is this book. Pure torment but so Fucking worth it.
To me this book has a Romeo and Juliet feel to it with a modern day twist and then throw in some assholes that try to manipulate and scheme. This book made me angry, made me antsy, made me want to vomit at times.
The amount of times I felt like pulling my hair out and screaming NO NO NO you fucking dumbass you will ruin everything what the fuck is wrong with you. Stop fucking shit up your only going to make it worse dammit. I swear i sounded like a crazy person talking to the book. That's right these characters made me talk out loud most is this book.
Whether it was "you Fucking bitch" or "fucking asshole I hate you" I was cursing up a storm.
Hayden omg I loved him I wanted to smack the ever loving fuck out of him most of this book but I loved him none the less. His heart was in the right place even though his actions were not the right ones.
Mackenzie the bullshit she goes through fuck I swear to I wanted to wipe out an entire list over characters for her. These people were seriously Fucking idiots and just gah even now that I'm done it I want to make them suffer. They don't deserve to have her in their life.
Now I'm rambling but fuck me I loved this book.
Now if you have read book 1 Furious Rush let me tell you Book 2 is off the charts fantastic and you will be put through the ringer. I know that some of you have been waiting a long time for this book.
If you have not read book 1 then go get it and prepare to read it time it if you must Book 2 releases June 13th. You will want to binge these two books like I did.

Meine Meinung:
Kenzie hat ihren großen Traum von einer Rennfahrerin aufgegeben und sich gegen ihre Familie gestellt und das nur für einen Jungen. Für mich ist dies der mutigste Akt und der größte Beweis der Liebe und das sieht auch Hayden so, weshalb er für sie nur das Beste möchte und sie niemals bereuen lassen möchte. Doch er merkt, dass es ihr trotzdem nicht gut geht, auch wenn sie sehr glücklich ist mit ihm. Und dann ist da auch noch Felicia, seine Ex-Freundin, die alles den Bach runterziehen könnte. Was bleibt einem da übrig, schließlich lebt sie und Hayden Kenzie's Traum. sie muss sich stark beweisen, obwohl sie so einiges auseinander reißt und das finde ich so toll an Kenzie. Ich mochte sie auch schon im ersten Teil wegen ihren taffen Persönlichkeit, die sich nicht unterkriegen lassen will. Aber jetzt hat nun mal auch seine Grenzen, vor allem, wenn vom Leben nichts mehr übrig bleibt, als der Partner. Sie macht eine gewaltige Entwicklung durch, was mich sehr beeindruckt hat und ihre Reaktionen haben mich immer wieder sehr beeindruckt, da ich nicht so stark gewesen wäre. Hayden hingegen ist teilweise noch der Alte geblieben, ein Bad-Boy, aber charmant wie eh und je und auch er hat es nicht leicht, dass seine erste große Liebe plötzlich auftaucht und sein Leben auf den Kopf stellt. Schließlich wurde er sehr verletzt und das merkt man beim Lesen wirklich, denn er hat einen großen Zwiespalt im Herzen, was ziemlich authentisch und realistisch rüber kommt. Denn wenn man jemanden geliebt hat und keinen Schlussstrich gezogen hat, ist es nun mal nicht möglich, dass da nichts mehr ist.
Ich muss auch echt sagen, so wie ich mir Hayden vorstelle, hat er wirklich großes Potenzial einer meiner absoluten Bookboyfriends zu werden, wenn nicht sogar der Bookboyfriend. :)
Die Handlung war zu Anfang noch recht schwierig, da ich erstmal wieder in die Geschichte kommen musste, schließlich ist der erste Teil auch schon einige Zeit her. Ich finde es gut, dass die Autorin hier nochmal die wichtigsten Ereignisse indirekt erzählt, sodass man dies nochmal vor Augen hat und sich erinnert. Danach geht es auch schon los, wie auch im ersten Teil wirklich dramatisch und spannend, was mir sehr gefallen hat. Die Drama kommt natürlich nicht an Erin Watt dran, aber mir hat es trotzdem sehr gefallen und über das Ende war ich sehr erleichtert. Es ist mal eine Abwechslung gewesen, dass es keinen Cliff-Hanger gibt, auch wenn man am Ende weiß, dass es noch weiter geht, da einige Fragen offen bleiben.
Der Schreibstil gefällt mir auch hier wieder sehr gut, da gibt es eigentlich überhaupt nichts zu meckern. Alles sehr verständlich und einfach gehalten, Beschreibungen sind wirklich gut gewählt und nehmen nicht zu viel von der Fantasie hinweg, erzählen aber genug. Es wird hier auch diesmal auch aus Haydens Sicht geschrieben, was mir sehr gefallen hat, weil hier sein Charakter nochmal heraus sticht und vor allem auch der Zwiespalt in seinem Herzen deutlicher wird.
Fazit:
Eine tolle Fortsetzung, die mich mitreißen konnte und sehr unterhalten hat. Der Anfang fiel noch etwas schwer, es ist gut, wenn man die Bücher direkt nacheinander liest, aber ansonsten hat es mich wieder sehr begeistern können!

This book should have been called Furious Rush, cause that's exactly how Hayden made me feel. FURIOUS!! Maybe that's a bit harsh, but damn the man, WTAF was he thinking? Clearly he wasn't!
So I basically consumed this book. I was too anxious to put it down and only did after I saw things turn a bit. But then I was up at 4am reading it again....it made me angsty and angry and so sad and disappointed. Hayden hides the truth from Kenzie (lies by omission and outright lies) and then he well does something that makes him feel disgusted with himself (as it should)...I can't say any more as I don't want to spoil anything. But he really fell down on the job of being Kenzies boyfriend and someone deserving of her love. And boy did I feel for Kenzie.
Hats off to SC Stephens - this was perfectly plotted, the characters so well written and it evoked every good and bad emotion in me. She did exactly what an author should do, she led me down the path and I'm convinced I felt this story exactly as she intended. I love her and kinda don't just because it made me so crazy. It's been alluded to that there will be a book 3 but I'm struggling with what that would be, where it might take them. I thought this wrapped nicely but Id be game to read more in this saga

This had to be one of the worst books I have ever read. I liked Hayden in book 1 but in this book he turned out to be one of the worst assholes regardless of what he turned out to be in the end. Kenzie was another ediot who had a strong character in book 1 but in this book ended up being a dumbass who took a job for her biggest enemy as a swimsuit model (if you even call it that) just so she can still be part of the racing world. Hayden thinking of his ex while having sex with Kenzie and then comparing the two of them. I seriously thought I was gonna throw and break my kindle from reading this book. The end was even worse than I thought but whatever I'm so happy to finish it and never read it again.

At the end of Furious Rush when Hayden’s past collided with his present, I knew S.C. Stephens was preparing to take readers on a complicated angst-filled journey in Dangerous Rush, and boy was I right! I NEVER felt settled or even that hopeful about Hayden and Kenzie making it through this rough patch because there was always someone or something attempting to tear them apart, and it also seemed that they too easily allowed a divide to be built between them, forgetting how dishonesty and feelings of abandonment can easily destroy the tightest of bonds.
Family and Racing - these are the two things that have grown to mean everything to Hayden and Kenzie, and when book 2 begins, Kenzie’s relationship with Hayden and her stubbornness to remain by his side despite her father’s dictates has forced her to lose both her family’s love and her career as a motorcycle racer, leaving her to watch someone from Hayden’s past take her spot not only as Hayden’s teammate but also as the elite female racer in the racing world that Kenzie’s has worked so hard to claim as her own.
Family also seems to be another reason that Kenzie feels like an outsider. Hayden, Felicia, Izzy, and Hookup have history together…they stood by each other’s side when there was no one else, and that means everything to Hayden. He’s loyal to a fault, meaning that once Hayden lets someone into his life, regardless of what s/he does, he always lets him/her back in, which means that even though four years have passed without one word from her, Felicia’s still a part of him…a part of his family, so their connection, regardless of the strain on it, is still there, especially when the reason she left is still unknown.
I understand why some readers would feel frustrated by Kenzie’s actions and attitude in Dangerous Rush because the feisty, independent girl she was in Furious Rush seems to have been replaced by someone who allows others to walk all over her and use her to prove a point. But I also get why S.C. Stephens portrays Kenzie this way for much of the story. By choosing Hayden over her father’s wishes, she lost everything that defined her and now the very person she gave up everything for isn’t there for her like he said he would be and his past threatens to destroy not only their happiness as a couple but also her love of a sport that she may never participate in again. Due to the strain on Kenzie’s relationship with Hayden and Keith’s meddling, Kenzie feels alone and is left wondering if her decisions will bring her happiness or more heartache.
While I was annoyed and sometimes angry with Hayden’s actions throughout the story, I also got why he was so conflicted. In the Prologue, readers are privy to his past with Felicia and the incredibly close bond they had, so it makes sense that there would be residual feelings on Hayden’s part when Felicia comes back into his life four years after she left with only a note as a goodbye. Stephens does a good job of demonstrating Hayden’s confusing feelings and the fact that despite how he outwardly reacts, inwardly, Felicia is still his first love and it’s difficult to shut those emotions off.
The second book in Stephens’ Furious Rush series is definitely complicated; readers will run the gamut of emotions and will find themselves questioning whether or not Hayden and Kenzie should have made the decisions they do, especially the ones that are dishonest and secretive.
The secondary story lines definitely add to the enjoyment of Dangerous Rush, and I’ll be interested to see if S.C. Stephens expands on them in the future; I’d love to see what happens with Nikki and if Hookup can be the man he vows to be at the end of the story.
Characters’ passions and how they handle them as well as fight for them is what this series is all about and because what people love comes with their own challenges, people’s emotions will always run high, causing both victories and losses in all areas of their lives.

Family and Racing - these are the two things that have grown to mean everything to Hayden and Kenzie, and when book 2 begins, Kenzie’s relationship with Hayden and her stubbornness to remain by his side despite her father’s dictates has forced her to lose both her family’s love and her career as a motorcycle racer, leaving her to watch someone from Hayden’s past take her spot not only as Hayden’s teammate but also as the elite female racer in the racing world that Kenzie’s has worked so hard to claim as her own.
Family also seems to be another reason that Kenzie feels like an outsider. Hayden, Felicia, Izzy, and Hookup have history together…they stood by each other’s side when there was no one else, and that means everything to Hayden. He’s loyal to a fault, meaning that once Hayden lets someone into his life, regardless of what s/he does, he always lets him/her back in, which means that even though four years have passed without one word from her, Felicia’s still a part of him…a part of his family, so their connection, regardless of the strain on it, is still there, especially when the reason she left is still unknown.
I understand why some readers would feel frustrated by Kenzie’s actions and attitude in Dangerous Rush because the feisty, independent girl she was in Furious Rush seems to have been replaced by someone who allows others to walk all over her and use her to prove a point. But I also get why S.C. Stephens portrays Kenzie this way for much of the story. By choosing Hayden over her father’s wishes, she lost everything that defined her and now the very person she gave up everything for isn’t there for her like he said he would be and his past threatens to destroy not only their happiness as a couple but also her love of a sport that she may never participate in again. Due to the strain on Kenzie’s relationship with Hayden and Keith’s meddling, Kenzie feels alone and is left wondering if her decisions will bring her happiness or more heartache.
While I was annoyed and sometimes angry with Hayden’s actions throughout the story, I also got why he was so conflicted. In the Prologue, readers are privy to his past with Felicia and the incredibly close bond they had, so it makes sense that there would be residual feelings on Hayden’s part when Felicia comes back into his life four years after she left with only a note as a goodbye. Dangerous Rush is a heart pounding, adrenaline induced MUST READ!
Going into this novel, I was a little nervous. I have been anticipating the release of Dangerous Rush since reading the final page of Furious Rush. To say that could put some pressure on not only a reader and blogger but also an author would be an understatement.

I have to say I enjoyed book two way more than first one. There was a, lot more action and drama. Some parts I wanted to kick Hayden about. I mean Kenzie gave up everything for him. And he was acting like an ass which she didn't deserve at all. I know what it's like when I family doesn't approve, it guts you eats at you. But at the end of day you have to ask yourself. My family is not going to keep warm at night, and do I want live with regrets of just giving in. No you don't when you fall for that right person nothing else matters about what people think. It's your life live it and embrace it.

I’m really disappointed with the Furious Rush series. While I have no complaints about the author’s general writing and plotting in this series per se, I really must say something against its characterization. Unfortunately, the protagonists are EXACTLY like Kiera and Kellen from the Thoughtless series. IMHO, the characters have just been recycled into a different plot.
I’d been waiting for so long for a SC Stephens new book to come out, and I’m so frustrated now that I don’t even want to read the final book in the series.
The duplicated characterization is a huge letdown to her loyal readers. I have read almost everything else of hers: the Conversion series and It’s All Relative are my favourites, along with the Thoughtless series, of course. So I know the author is better than this.
I just hope she’ll strive to craft better thought-out work in the future.

Anger and Hate filled me for majority of this book and will probably stay my biggest fillings in it. I gave this a 4 star rating because page by page I just couldn't put it down even tho my feeling for Hayden from the last book did a complete 360 turn I loved him for how much he loved kenzie and how he would do anything for her but then Felicia his first love the one that ran away and abandoned him and his family came back after 4 years and that is where the down fall of Hayden and kenzie began.
Kenzie gave up her hole life for Hayden the dream she had chased from the moment she was old enough to walk. She lost her dad and her sisters for him and as much has that hurst her and broke her heart she was still okay because she had Hayden by her side.
Hayden's biggest fear was that one day Kenzie would wake up and resent him for losing her dream losing her career and family all in th one especially because he was still living Kenzies dream he was living both of the dreams and he wanted nothing more to get her back into racing. Give her back something she lost for him. But it wasn't that simple she couldn't just simply join another team she tried that but in her dads anger with her he made sure she was blacklisted to never ride for another team again. So that's when Hayden came up with a plane to buy Kenzies fathers side of the track and partner up with Keith and in return he would give Kenzie a job riding but there was one problem with the hole situation he needed to get money and lots of it in order to buy the track. So when an option came up to rejoin hookup back street racing again knowing Kenzie would never agree to such a thing after they both agreed to never do it again after the last time that was another part of the downfall of Hayden and Kenzie
It started out okay he lied to her and said Keith had a party for him to go to to get sponsors and told her she couldn't go as Keith didn't want her to witch was in every way believable as Keith hated her because of her dad she ended being oky with it because h reassured her that Felicia wouldn't be there as she was trying everything she could to get him back. At the start the lies were okay but then he started spending more and more time at these party's hardly spending anytime with Kenzie leaving her alone with nothing she had already lost everything except Hayden so as time went on she became mor and more unhappy as he started telling more and more lies she could tell there was something wrong she had this feeling that he wasnt telling the truth especially when it got out that Felicia had been texting him and sometimes he replied but he lied to her about it so when she found out a piece of her started dying she begged for the hole truth she could feel there was more but he promised her he would always tell her the truth so she agreed as long as he was always honest with her.
Lines started to blur as he found it hard to continue his anger towards Felicia and this is probably where I was getting the most angriest because after everything Kenzie did for him she didn't deserve what he was doing. He still refused to hear her out he wanted to know why she abandoned him but at the same time that was the anger he was holding on to but as she started showing up and started street racing with him he new what he was doing was wrong and if Kenzie found out he would break her heart he kept telling himself and Felicia he was doing it for Kenzie to give her her dream back but the past was slowly catching up he started thinking about Felicia more and more he even started to feel comfort in her then came the time where I lost all respect for Hayden not that Kenzie or anyone else will ever know but thanks to his side of the book I know. He was making love to Kenzie but then he started thinking about Felicia it sickened him but turned him on more then anything so he didn't try to fight it and picture Kenzie instead he aloud himself to believe it was her at lest he had the decency to feel sick and know what he did was completely disgusting on so many levels. So he started avoiding her more and more leaving her more and more alone.
Then came the night that broke my heart right along with Kenzies. Izzy rang everybody to get to the hospital Antonia had been admitted and taken to hospital and she was in surgery as Hayden, hookup and Felicia were all at a street race about to start when they got the call they got to the royal children's hospital fast and izzy took one look at all off them and new Hayden had been racing again he mentioned Antonias name and that instantly brought he back to reality as she told them what was going on it was her appendix Hayden relaxed and explained to her that it was okay doctors did surgery on people all the time for there appendix feeling relieved it was the little girls cancer back for the 3rd time as they all sat down on the waiting room chairs Felicia held Hayden's hand and he felt comfort and lost in memory's but then remebered the first time she was sick she abandoned them all and he also remembered Kenzie as soon as he through he hand away in slight disgust the waiting room doors burst open and Kenzie ran in looking frantic then her eye locked on to Hayden and he was out of the his seat and had her in his arms in seconds but has Kenzie looked at him she realised something so she asked how did he beat her there when he was ment to be at one of Keith's party's in LA but as he stumbled over words izzy ran up to Kenzie and broke down in he arms unable to not surport her friend she focused everything into izzy but after a bit hookup decided to make Hayden's life hell and told him they should get back to the race and that was when everything came tumbling down Hayden's lies unraveled around him as Kenzie realised the truth to every lie he told he tried to tell her it was all for her to get the money so she could race again and the part she pointed out that I like the most was so racing with Felicia behind my back for me and in that second to Kenzie her deepest fears had come true not only had she lost her career her family but she had now lost Hayden too as in her mind she now pictured them together as she said the words Hayden prayed he'd never here "where done" and I actually felt relived for her because as she pointed out she never expected anything but honesty and love from him to be there for her but instead he lied to her and left her on her own.
I was glade when izzy made Hayden leave instead of Kenzie he didn't deserve to be there it may of been his family first but Kenzie was now apart of the family to and he was the one that did this so he was the one made to leave. Felicia followed him that night and that was when the truth came out she finally got the chance to tell him why she left with the truth in the air and the 4 years of hurt he felt he actually understood but unfortunately he understood to late with thinking that because he understood she could have him back she trie to kiss him but he pushed her away for the first time he was no longer confused about his past and his future kenzie never ran Kenzie always stayed and stood by him no mater what there was to lose and she sure as hell lost it all but she was there his eyes finally opened and I was so angry that it took untill then to realise what he did Felicia may have once had a piece of his heart but Kenzie now owned both his heart and sole and he would never give up on them and for the first time Felicia understood what she done was never right
Kenzie went to her fathers house the next morning after the hospital and I had never been so proud of her as this is almost one of my favourite passages from the book I'm just going to copy and paste the hole thing out of the book its one of my favourite because in this moment it's the moment her father truly realises exactly how much damage he has done to his daughter how much pain he has caused her.
~Hopping off my bike, I strutted to his front door and started banging on the hard wood. It was an overly aggressive greeting, and I knew that, but I was too fired up to do anything else. Dad appeared a few moments later. His stern gaze and disapproving frown showed no signs of weariness; I knew he’d been awake. “Mackenzie, why are you trying to break down my door?”
“I thought you’d be interested to know that I just quit Benneti Motorsports.” His eyes brightened at hearing me say that. He opened his mouth, but I didn’t let him respond. “I also broke up with Hayden.” A sharp knife slowly drew across my heart with that admission, but I didn’t let the pain show on my face. Dad didn’t get to see that.
His earlier happiness paled in comparison to the joy I saw now. “Mackenzie, that’s—”
I lifted my hand to stop whatever encouraging words he’d been about to give me. “Neither of those two things changes anything between you and me. We’re done too. Have been for a while, truth be told.”
“I…that’s not what I… Mackenzie, be reasonable.” Dad was trying to make his face imposing again, but there was fear in his expression now, like he finally understood that he’d taken things entirely too far and there was no going back.

like Kezie Hayden went and seen her father and the two of them made a deal together as they ha both lost a girl they love Jordan singed the track into Kenzies name and Hayden used his winnings from street racing to pay the debt off that was owed on it so it was completely and utterly in the full paid out in kenzies name only thing left was to give it to her. When her sisters convinced her to go with them so they could make things right from blocking her out and believing the bad her dad had said about her they took her to the track where her father and Hayden were waiting for her to give her her dream back. She accepted the deal and her father told her he could give her advice and help her reopen cox racing witch she agreed to but warned both of them that none of them were okay.
In the end she offered Hayden a spot on her team for the next season and Keith had made sure no other team would take him on because of the day he quit because Kenzie has a hart like gold and still loved him but just couldn't trust him with her heart again she new what it felt like to lose caree and dream she didn't know how it was gunna work but she couldn't let him lose his dream. And from there that's where they did end up getting back together taking things slow one step at a time
My feelings are mixed because how bad I wanted Hayden and Kenzie together and how much i loved him and something that has never happened to me before ever in any book has left me unsure if I want them to be together or not I still love them together and one he did a hell of a lot to get them back together and get her her career back but so far I just need more proof he isn't gunna hurt her again because at the end of the day she may have gotten it back but she was still the one that lost absolutely everything where he never did so I don't no if I like the ending or not that's the problem Iv had because Iv never had so much hate and anger for almost a hole intire book and that's what make it hard to decide if I liked the outcome or not I also don't believe her father deserved her forgiveness and neither do her sisters for believing him without talking to her I kinda just feel angry over the hole thing she deserves a better family and a better boyfriend that dosnt have to remind himself that he loved her when around his ex and that only changed when he actually lost he so yeah you can see I don't no how to feel and it's actually frustrating me that I don't know

“I…that’s not what I… Mackenzie, be reasonable.” Dad was trying to make his face imposing again, but there was fear in his expression now, like he finally understood that he’d taken things entirely too far and there was no going back.
“I am being reasonable, Dad. You shut me out, because of a boy. You blocked off every avenue, closed every door. I wouldn’t be surprised if you purposefully stoked Theresa and Daphne’s anger toward me, all to make sure I was completely alone. If you could have corrupted Myles and Nikki, I’m sure you would have done that too.” My hands clenched as I thought about that very real possibility. “Why go through such extremes? Because I didn’t do what you wanted me do? Is your pride that fragile?”
His eyes turned pleading. “I know you don’t understand, but it was for your betterment. I was trying to help you.”
Annoyance built up inside me like burrs under my skin; I was so tired of people doing horrible things for my benefit. “All you ended up doing, Dad, was ruining our relationship. And unlike what happened with you and Mom, no amount of counseling is going to save us. I’m done trying to understand you, and I can’t forgive you for what you did.” A warm numbness started blanketing me as my words sunk into my pores. It was sad that things were over, but it was the truth. A bridge had been burned, one that couldn’t be repaired; there was no point mourning it now.
As I grew calm, Dad grew frantic. Stepping forward, he put his hands on my upper arms. “I’ll get you a job, I’ll make this right. I’m sorry if I took things too far, I was just trying to make you see—”
Brushing his hands off me, I firmly told him, “What I saw, was that Keith might have been right all along. You can be ruthless, relentless, and emotionless when you want something badly enough. That might have served you well as a racer, but they’re not good attributes, Dad. And as far as getting me a job…don’t bother. I’ll refuse anything you send my way.”
Shock turned Dad’s face a pale white, and he looked about to interrupt. When he said my name, I steamrolled right over him. “No, I’m tired of being manipulated. I’m tired of reacting to things, instead of making them happen.” With a sarcastic smile, I shook my head. “Congratulations, you successfully got me blacklisted from the sport—your sport. You single-handedly ended what could have been a family legacy, but I don’t give a shit about that legacy anymore. If I can’t race motorcycles, then fine, I’ll just find a new sport to shine in. And I will be able to shine, because I won’t have your shadow hovering over me anymore. I’ll no longer be known as Jordan Cox’s daughter first and a competitor second. I’ll just be a competitor, same as everyone else, and that’s more than enough for me.” Hope bloomed inside my tormented heart, and, straightening my stance, I lifted my chin and stared him down; for once, I didn’t feel like his inferior or subordinate. like Kezie Hayden went and seen her father and the two of them made a deal together as they ha both lost a girl they love Jordan singed the track into Kenzies name and Hayden used his winnings from street racing to pay the debt off that was owed on it so it was completely and utterly in the full paid out in kenzies name only thing left was to give it to her. When her sisters convinced her to go with them so they could make things right from blocking her out and believing the bad her dad had said about her they took her to the track where her father and Hayden were waiting for her to give her her dream back. She accepted the deal and her father told her he could give her advice and help her reopen cox racing witch she agreed to but warned both of them that none of them were okay.
In the end she offered Hayden a spot on her team for the next season and Keith had made sure no other team would take him on because of the day he quit because Kenzie has a hart like gold and still loved him but just couldn't trust him with her heart again she new what it felt like to lose caree and dream she didn't know how it was gunna work but she couldn't let him lose his dream. And from there that's where they did end up getting back together taking things slow one step at a time
My feelings are mixed because how bad I wanted Hayden and Kenzie together and how much i loved him and something that has never happened to me before ever in any book has left me unsure if I want them to be together or not I still love them together and one he did a hell of a lot to get them back together and get her her career back but so far I just need more proof he isn't gunna hurt her again because at the end of the day she may have gotten it back but she was still the one that lost absolutely everything where he never did so I don't no if I like the ending or not that's the problem Iv had because Iv never had so much hate and anger for almost a hole intire book and that's what make it hard to decide if I liked the outcome or not I also don't believe her father deserved her forgiveness and neither do her sisters for believing him without talking to her I kinda just feel angry over the hole thing she deserves a better family and a better boyfriend that dosnt have to remind himself that he loved her when around his ex and that only changed when he actually lost he so yeah you can see I don't no how to feel and it's actually frustrating me that I don't know

Furious Rush left me rubbing my hands together in giddy anticipation of this next book in the series. I remember thinking that the level of angst had just been turned up a few notches, which was exactly where I wanted it to go, and exactly where I expected this author to take the story. Dangerous Rush took that level of angst and revved it up even higher. I was feeling all of the familiar pangs of emotion and turmoil, but it was elevated to a point that made my heart pound that little bit faster.
Dangerous Rush picks up right where the first book left off. Kenzie’s life had undergone some major changes. She wasn’t living the life that she wanted, but at least she had Hayden by her side. He was the bright spot in her new, bleak reality. While he was still racing, being promoted, and living out his professional racing dreams, Kenzie was stuck on the sidelines, missing the sport that was deeply rooted in her heart and soul. While she was happy in her romantic relationship, her family and career suffered for it. But Kenzie was certain that Hayden’s love and support was worth any sacrifice…until she begins to doubt his honesty and loyalty.
I felt for Kenzie’s situation. She had lost the things that truly mattered to her, except for Hayden. With the return of Hayden’s long-lost ex-girlfriend, Felicia, Kenzie was beginning to think that she was losing him too. Felicia had been an important part of Hayden’s past, and she was now the newest member of the Benneti Racing Team. Now that Hayden and Felicia were back in close proximity of each other, working for the same team, and being showcased as the “it couple” for the media, Kenzie felt like she was being pushed further and further onto the sidelines of Hayden’s life.
The book is told from Kenzie and Hayden’s perspectives. This gave me the much needed insight into both of their thoughts, motivations, and feelings. Of course, being a woman, I was siding with Kenzie’s feelings most of the time, however, I did feel for Hayden’s situation as well. Did he do some things that made me question his true feelings and character? Absolutely. Did I cringe and feel the ache right in the pit of my stomach? Did I ever! This is what makes a good book a great book. I want to feel the emotions. Personally speaking, I don’t need everything to be happy and perfect. I want to feel the real emotions, the pain, anguish, and heartache. I never want to read an easy story, one that is simply a smooth pathway to the end. If a book doesn’t make a reader feel something – good or bad – then the author isn’t doing the characters or the story justice. S.C. Stephens did these characters and story justice.
Dangerous Rush kept me riveted to the pages. It is a fantastic, addictive continuation to Kenzie and Hayden’s story. It is brimming with secrets, lies, jealousy, tension, and turmoil – it’s an angst-lover’s dream.

So I am sort of sitting on the fence when it comes to Dangerous Rush. I love S.C. Stephen and she is an author that helped secure my reading addiction years ago so for me to not be screaming down the house about Dangerous Rush is difficult for me. Now I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it either so that it sits me directly on the fence of which way do I go or do I stay in the middle and straddle both sides. I think I may stay in the middle or at least try to.
Okay I am just going to come out and say it. I got BORED. I hate saying that but I did. I think I sat Dangerous Rush aside about 4 times because I just wasn’t getting into the story and it is literally killing me to type that. This book had so much potential, to be another one that would go down on the record books of a must read by S,C. Stephens, but for me at least it didn’t meet that potential. Now I always say a book I didn’t love you may love a million times more so form your own opinion and maybe you will connect with the story more.
I love racing and I love angst in my books so while this book and the previous one has both of these in spades. Kenzie changed to a point of who is this character and what happened to the feisty character we had in the previous book. Hayden well let me just put it out there that if I were to ever see him if he was real, I think I would have ran him over because I got so pissed off at him in this book. Maybe this was a case of it didn’t work for me, but whatever the case is I wish I had loved it like I had hoped.

I remember being incredibly confused at the ending of book one and I am happy to say that this second instalment continues where the last one left us hanging.
Now it was Kenzie who frustrated me in the first book. I felt her character was too weak to be a likeable heroine, however she really became so much stronger in this story. I'd go so far as to say she finally grew a set of balls.
We get to know Hayden so much more in this book, due to the chapters being told almost alternately in both Kenzie and Hayden's point of view. Yes he was still hot, as I'd stated in my review of book one, but with the appearance of Felicia, he had become this indecisive, confused guy that I wasn't really sure I liked anywhere near as much as I did. But I do get that his feelings and confusion was needed for this story and I loved that his character was so much more three dimensional compared to before.
Now it was the protagonists in this book that evoked the most feeling from me. Felicia and Keith especially had me thinking of all sorts of ways Kenzie could exact revenge.
Overall, I did feel this book was slightly better than the first book, but I really did want to feel that level of angst that I had from reading the authors, Thoughtless series and I'm afraid that SC Stephens may have set the bar just a little too high. This was a very enjoyable read all the same.

And this is why I loved the book because no one is perfect and love is not easy to achieve in any relationship.
You want a read with tons of angst filled emotional that will leave you breathless and guessing what will happen next, this is the book for you.

Another fantastic installment to this story!
I absolutely love the saga of Hayden and Kenzie.
Although book one did not end in a true cliffhanger, it definitely left us with plenty of questions about Hayden’s past and Kenzie’s future. Book two will definitely give you the answers you’re looking for, but if you expected it to be easy for them, you’re mistaken. If there’s one thing SC Stephens does really well, it’s complicated.
Love, lust, angst, heartache - this book has a little bit of everything, including appearances by some of our favorite characters (and maybe some of our not-so-favorite ones too). And while this book doesn’t end in a true cliffhanger either, there is certainly more story to be told. Keep an eye out for the third and final book in this series coming soon! I really enjoyed the first book, but I have to say, I think I enjoyed Dangerous Rush so much more. I had a feeling we were in for a ride with this one and I was most definitely right. Dangerous Rush was angsty, emotional, and unputdownable. It was IMPOSSIBLE to stop reading this book. I had to know what was going to happen next. I NEEDED to make sure Hayden and Kenzie were going to be okay.
There were times I wanted to throttle Hayden, yet I still couldn’t help but love him. S.C. Stephen’s doesn’t make Hayden and Kenzie’s journey easy. It’s full of rough patches and people working against them, but it’s still so worth it. I just ADORE this couple.
