It's funny because when Blaine refers to low barrier of entry in a professional sense, as well as tribal folklore training, it made me realize just how few quality resources are available to learn. Books are abundant in every high stakes industry except CRE. When someone with experience and knowledge opens up and shares wisdom, we CRE professionals have no choice but to eat it up. Must read!
The author hits many incredible points that are philosophically accurate and practically helpful for both managing partners and revenue producing agents within a brokerage office. Highly recommend it for anyone who is in the commercial real estate agent business.
Blaine has been a continued source of encouragement and direction for me throughout my career. As my role in the industry has changed, Blaine's input has been a key resource. I had the opportunity to read Thrive recently and I find it to be just as valuable. Any commission based real estate professional will see immediate benefit by reading this book because it gives the reader fundamental but overlooked strategy to be successful in their business. It's a quick read with simple, measurable steps that anyone can take and implement. It would be a great read for a seasoned professional, a new to the business professional or even an executive in the industry. You shouldn't be in real estate without reading Thrive.
This is an excellent read for experienced and new practitioners. I have been in the business for 17 years and I am also a CCIM Instructor. With that said, I learned a lot from Thrive. Blaine lays out a plan that is ready-made to execute. Many things I already knew and used to implement but I don’t anymore. More importantly, Blaine inspired me to take my business serious again. Thrive taught me that I need to seek to learn, innovate and make the most of my expertise. It encouraged me to start from scratch and build a business again. I am excited and motivated. I pray it does the same for you. Good Luck!
Great read! I’ve already made my list of 125 VIPs and started a calling schedule. There were many other tips that I intend to follow through on. His book has great information for those at all stages of their career.
I first met Blaine in 2015 when I took my first CCIM commercial real estate course. He’s been of great support since then whenever I have guidance and have grown my business dramatically since then beyond being a solo with significant clientele as well.
If you are in the CRE biz and want to grow, you need to read this book!
Practical and engaging. Highly recommend for hungry CRE agents and brokers. Anyone who is or might lead a team will benefit from Blaine’s heartfelt coaching.
Was looking for an introduction to commercial real-estate, not exactly an "idiot's guide" but just something to get myself familiar with the lingo, acronyms, and common practices. This is not that, but actually a helpful guide on running a successful brokerage/agency (it does descibe the difference between those, which I was also wondering about). It felt dated and I had trouble ignoring the pronoun bias toward "he/him" when referring to the boss and "she/her" when describing the assistants. Ultimately, I learned a bit but I believe the content and voice desperately needs a refresh.
As a commercial real estate broker and intermediary, I’ve lived through each pain point described. Blaine’s prescriptions are right on point, invaluable, non judgmental. I’ll be using his blueprint first thing tomorrow morning,
Real life scenarios I am an adult - I make might own choices and live by them. Consider it as a multi-million dollar business and create the habits that work
